Jerseys Send Regrets from Customs
Friday, February 29, 2008
For the first time in team history, the Gladiators were giving away adult team replica jerseys tomorrow night to the first 2,000 fans through the doors at The Arena at Gwinnett Center. Instead, for the first time in team history, the Gladiators will be giving out vouchers for adult team replica jerseys to the first 2,000 fans through the doors at The Arena at Gwinnett Center…and silently cursing U.S. Customs. We’d like to talk smack about the customs process and rant until they snatched them off the dock and sent a carrier pigeon down to Duluth with them, but then we may NEVER see the jerseys. The point is that we, unfortunately, do not have our jerseys. They’re currently tied up in some monstrously official sounding “secondary customs.” What we do have are vouchers and t-shirts to tide you over. Just as planned, the first 2,000 people will receive those vouchers, so any plans to camp out in an attempt to be one of the first 2,000 should still be followed.
The good news is that not only will you be receiving your jersey, but you now also get an additional Gladiators t-shirt AND an impressively crafted voucher. Granted, you can’t wear a voucher to work on Monday (well, you could, but we don’t recommend it) and the voucher won’t keep you warm on your way out of the arena tomorrow night, but look at it this way…you get EXTRA free stuff and a great Gladiators bookmark for a week or two! In all seriousness, though, the Gladiators Organization does appreciate your understanding on this unfortunate matter and looks forward to seeing you tomorrow night!
This hopefully will be nice, getting a t-shirt as well as (hopefully) a jersey later on.
