Title: Our LB play sucked
mrtrans - March 2, 2008 03:22 AM (GMT)
where the heck was EJ? Did he break team rules or something. They just kept saying he was inactive today? what the hell for? he is the best LB in the game and we decide to discipline him today?

Yeah well sometimes you gotta pay the piper. Still one man does not break a team. We have way too many other areas that need attention.

Perhaps they didn't feel comfortable with his transition to Mack yet. Plank said after the game their intent was to use Gary as Jack, so with Hamin being out and then deciding not to play Eric, Willie moved to the middle (until he got his bell rung), and they were really behind the 8 ball.
So there's an excuse for the LB situation. Anybody got one for the QB situation? That looked like the Conference Championship Chris Greisen. I don't ever want to see him again.

I think that was to be expected given he hasn't played a game witht hose 3 receivers on the field all at once. That is the worst I have seen him play though even if his numbers overall were pretty impresive.

We have seen the bounce a few and then over throw the receiver before and I don't want to got though that again. I still wonder how much the new LB rule played into what was going on since Clint was not over all impressive either.
On the LB play, I don't remember seeing our LB rushing on an angle to helping out DL to get to Clint.

I don't want to see Griesen throw like that again either. Under thrown, over thrown, QB & WR go opposite ways on the break. The entire effort was one that reeked of being completely unprepared. Three weeks is not enough time to get ramped up to being season-ready much less Dallas ready. Granted there were times Dallas looked out of sync too but no where near as bad we did.

I agree, I thought Greisen choked big time.
Overall, I was pretty impressed with the receiving corps. Morris didn't have an amazing game, but I think Holmes has a great season ahead of him.

I do hope Greisen performs a lot better than yesterday!
HitemHarder - March 2, 2008 09:44 PM (GMT)
It was his first game with those three, but whether he was throwing balls in the dirt in front of Brent Holmes or Chris Jackson makes little difference.

it's a comfortability thing. You go to release and you see #81 there you just throw. You see Holmes maybe you try to aim a little too much. Same thing with Morris and the 2" taller Derek Lee
"Three weeks is not enough time to get ramped up to being season-ready much less Dallas ready."
Agree with that point and when you really look at days in camp it was more like two and half weeks. Don't know if that is enough. Dallas had an 8 day head start on us.

still no formal answer or explanation of why the hell we benched the best LB in th egame. Oh well guess we like throwing games. If EJ isn't playing thie Friday night I am going to be one pissed off monkey.

Well I am a big EJ fan and I would really like to know what the hell he done before opening game to make it where he didn't play. That has upset me since the beginning of the game when I didn't see him out there.I agree we need work in alot of areas. Its a very simple game you have to throw the ball so they can catch it then they have to catch it and hang on to it which our passes were going all over the place. Then a problem I seen was our blocking you must stop the rush. Then of course we must stop there offense which we didn't do so lets hope we improve in all of these areas or it could be a long season.
