FORCE SIGN DB RICKY BELL AND PLACE
LB FRANK TRENTADUE ON INJURED RESERVE
The Georgia Force today signed DB Ricky Bell and placed LB Frank Trentadue (leg) on injured reserve.
Bell, 5-11, 200 pounds, is entering his second season in the AFL after spending time with the Dallas Desperados in 2007 and attending training camp with them this season. Last year, he saw action in Dallas’ Divisional Playoff game and collared two tackles in a reserve role after being inactive for the final two regular season games. Bell attended training camp with the Desperados this season, but was waived prior to the start of the regular season. Prior to joining the ranks of the AFL, Bell spent three seasons in the NFL (Pittsburgh Steelers, Jacksonville Jaguars and Chicago Bears) and six years in the Canadian Football League. He is a product of North Carolina State, where he saw time at every secondary position and earned First-Team ACC honors as a senior after collaring 61 tackles.
Trentadue, 6-1, 260 pounds, has started all three games for the Force at linebacker this season and has tallied two tackles. Last week, he recorded a season-high 1.5 tackles and one tackle for loss vs. Los Angeles.
Russell Athletic ESPN Arena Football action returns Saturday, March 29 at 2:00 p.m. on ESPN2 and ESPN2 HD as the Tampa Bay Storm visit Philadelphia to take on the Soul.
It's a shame, too. Trentadue combined with Johnson made for one miserable Sonny Cumbie.
Oh well. Stafford's head is off balance before you walk into the building, so we shoudl have a good night. If Truluck can't go I'm hoping we'll get to see what Will Thompson has. I'm guessing we may get Huebner back at Mack this week.
