Title: Three Message Boards?

forcefan27 - March 25, 2008 01:29 PM (GMT)
Ok, I check three Force message boards everyday and I suspect that many of you do as well. I think that having all these different places is really watering down the posting. Many people who's opinions I enjoy have pretty much stopped posting all together and it just doesn't seem as much fun as it usually is. Can we just pick one place and stay there?

I again, (I can only get on two now) but I think that Doc new one is the first place I go to. I think of it as more the Forcefanatic's personal forum instead of part of the Falcons.

The "Official" message board is a POS. Many can log in but can't post so I don't even check that one. This one is fading rapidly as there is a "Falcon fans only" mentality from many that don't want us here. No problem. Doc created the "third" one as the best place to go.

I think you visit three MB's daily by choice, not requirement. But regardless, as Dane mentioned the OFFICIAL MB is a POS. Why anyone bothers posting there is beyond even my limited warped imagination.

AND YES, I have met several of the "Powers that BE" (including the two Top Admins) on that board and went above and beyond the call of duty literally BEGGING for Tech Support for those here that couldn't get in, but all that fell on deaf ears.

Or maybe they just don't know iy88767 they are doing over there. Who know's or really cares.

I came to this board last year and was offered an opportunity to Moderate this forum, which I took and began recruiting new members from the other boards. The ones I had contact information for.

Our intent was to get everyone to a place where we could share our passion for the sport and our views in a rather diverse open environment. Like you, almost everyone that post in this forum received an email from me.

As with most MB's concerning Arena Football, they are somewhat intertwined with NFL boards and not all Arena Fans are NFL fans. There are exceptions, but few using this forum ever post in regards to NFL or College happens.

Since it's out in the open, to clarify the event even moreso, the boards I created are totally dedicated to the Arena League as a whole. Nothing but Arena with NO NFL ties.

The intent is, or possibly was, (since I may get my ass kicked off of this one now) to use BOTH this board and that board for the Force Forums. MB's can Co-exist and do on a daily bases.

IF that board did survive, I would hope, at some point in the future, with the help and influence from people that post here, that have strong inside ties to the team, it could or would replace the OFFICIAL Force MB. (Dane has been involved since it's concept)

Like I said, that was our intent. What happens now,, who knows.
(it looks like I got some 'plainin' to do in the near future.............)

As far as I'm concerned, there are two Force boards, THIS ONE and the arena board.
My plan is to post on BOTH and to Moderate here as well.

Besides, The Official Message Board is a waste of server space and bandwidth.

btw, the record could be the problem with people NOT posting. We are 1-3 you know.
When we win, everyone is happy, when we suck, folks disappear. IF we lose in Utah, you'll be able to sit anywhere you want in Gwinnett Arena April 4.

I was thinking about starting a message board to discuss the message boards or perhaps a "best of" message board or an "all about We Willie board". Would that help? ;) 67hhers56 67hhers56

I know of two of the boards this one and the one off of the Force web site what is the third board and how do I get on it?

emmitt pharr - March 25, 2008 07:12 PM (GMT)
Yeah these boards aren't hoping like they were last year we use to have good discussions on them now it is kinda dead hell we are 1-3 we aren't finished yet we still can make the playoffs if we get our shit together.

I hear ya bud, but I honestly don't think 3 boards is or are the problem.

I think the main problem is the OFFICIAL Board is toast and thats the first place anyone, or most would go. You read my post there concerning what kind of message that sends Rivals looking to talk smack.

I know when we play Philly later this year Strock will be surprised as hell when he finds that board is dead.

The other problem is, like we saw two years ago on the Official boards, people stop or slow down when the teams in a slump, and go posting crazy when they're winning, like they did last year.

It's not just the Force, it's any team in any sport.

I know another guy that runs a general sports board. You name it, he has forums. NFL, MLB, Minor League Baseball, soccer, NCAA Basketball - Football - Baseball, Nascar, like I said you name it, it's there.

Right now, the NCAA Basketball forums are rocking. 200-300 post daily. After the tournament, that forum will be dead for about 6 months or so.

This board and every board goes through cycles, as I call them. I've seen times when the only people that posted here was Iowahorse and myself. Guess the others were busy doing something else, but we were posting like crazy.

Information overload I think you called it..........

But I'll make a friendly suggestion. Email all those folks on that ESPN Pick'em and point them in the direction of these message boards. Hit up rival sites and tell those folks as well. Recruit some folks. Spread the word.

This forum is called Georgia Force AND Arena football, so anything arena is fair game. We'll talk smack with the best of them. Hell if we can't we'll baffle them with BS...
