Title: Will Miami pass
Description: On #1 pick?

This is the wrong year to have the No. 1 pick. The guaranteed money will be $30-$35 million and there is not one player any team feels is worth it. If the Dolphins stay put — they desperately want to trade — it looks like Virginia DE Chris Long (son of Howie) will be the guy according to the New York Daily News.
It's even been speculated Bill Parcells could actually pass at No. 1 and then jump back in and take Chris Long a few spots later to attempt to save a bunch of money.
Then the Rams, at No. 2, will take either Michigan offensive tackle Jake Long or LSU defensive tackle Glenn Dorsey.

Why don't they just offer 2-3 guys the same lowball contract and see who accepts? They definitely should sign their guy before the draft.

How does that work if they do "pass"? Then what happens? St Louis picks first and we pick 2nd and every pick's salary goes up?

I doubt St. Louis wants to pay #1 pick money either. I joked before that every team might just keep letting their clocks expire because they don't want to pick 1st. That would make for one boring ass draft!
The #1 pick used to be a big prize. Now it is a burden.

I don't see why St. Louis is being mentioned for Jake Long.

I think they may be interested in an heir to Pace.
