Title: 2006 Honda Gyro

Flight58 - April 9, 2008 11:09 PM (GMT)
I can find no prices. I'm not even positive the '06 gyro is even sold in the US.

I'm going to buy a moped. Can't afford a harley and there is no sense in getting a motorcycle if it's not a Harley.

Has anyone seen these IRL?

Is that the one with canopy thing? If so, I've only seen pics.

Yeah.

I read it's popular in Japan. But I've only seen pics too

Do other models have a canopy thing? I saw 2 of those cycles w/a canopy on a car lot in Austell (near Atlanta) about a year ago.

O see that the 2005 models didn't have a canopy. The canopy looks goofy, that's why I want it. I would look righteous on that hog.

If you're looking for a scooter with some weather protection, you could look at the Jonway Galaxy. It's made in China, and some company imports them here. Sells brand new for around $1500 and should get 80 MPG or so.

There's tons of little scooters with hard tops like this in Europe, most of them really well designed for serious full time use. Nobody imports those great scooters here because Americans think if it weighs less than 8 tons and gets more than 8 MPG it's a kid's toy.

That's cool. Do you know what those little cars are called. The ones that are not much bigger than the people riding in them?

Are you thinking of the Smart Car?

Daimler Chrysler makes it. They're bringing it to the US now, and there's already a waiting list.

That's the car. I see one now and then on the street here. Only one.

I'd get one.

I have an old Cushman truckster 3 wheeler with a cab and enclosed box at the shop. It ain't ran in years because I need a clutch plate for it,it died while I was a kid when my dad was driving it taking me on a fun run. Probably ain't ran in 30 years. But it's on what I call my big three list to get running this year.

The Cushman. my motorcycle and my yamaha moped. None run now, but they will by June if I can help it.

I'm pretty sure that bottom one, 2006 is what I saw on that car lot. However, I have NEVER seen one of these on the streets around Atlanta. Admittedly, most of my driving is in suburbia, though.

Since seeing the Jonway, the gyro looks like a toy.

I've seen a couple here. I've also seen a couple of these ZAP Zebras. One of the local Asian food places uses one for their delivery car. It's all electric, great for just riding around town.

How's the acceleration on these things? That's what would scare me most about riding in one in Atlanta. People would run your ass over...
