Title: Every lose respect for someone
Description: because of irresponsibility??????

OR, is that wrong??????

Ran into a friend Yesterday while out and about and during the convo he mentioned these guys, three brothers called Lynam, playing a gig not far from Atlanta. He said being an old 70's - early 80's rocker I would like their music and I need to check them out. The subject changed without a lot more detail about the band other than the mentioning.

So I decided to Google them and see what I could find out. Well seems they have a pretty impressive heritage, and I was a fan of their parents.

However, and I may be wrong for feeling this way, when I read this review, I lost all respect for their parents, totally. For what they did and the irresponsible way they handled this situation. Especially since they could have provided so much more.

I suppose in essence, I hate irresponsible people. Regardless, here's their story....

Read on.

Lynam

Genre: Rock (Arena Rock)
Hometown: Birmingham, Alabama

From Birmingham, AL, Lynam is a band that has no limits. With the attitude of Sid Vicious and the pure energy of early Guns N Roses, the three brothers that make up the band Lynam have a take no prisoners approach to their music.

We all got turned on to music early on says front man Jacob Lynam We really latched on to the larger than life spectacle of 80s rock bands. All of the old videos and concerts look like one big party. Everyone is having a good time and the music is about having fun.

These days it seams like bands are whining about how hard it was growing up in suburbia instead of giving their fans a great show. Lets have fun again, lets bring the show back chimes in Mark Lynam, the bands bassist.

Lynams history dates back to the 70s when their dad Ronnie Lynam moved to England to front the band Black Sabbath. The band had just parted ways with Ozzy Osbourne and they were looking for a singer with a new sound. When Ronnie joined Black Sabbath, he started using the stage name Ronnie James Dio. Everyone agreed Dio sounded more evil than Ronnie James Lynam.

Around the time the Heaven and Hell album came out, Ronnie was confronted by Stevie Nicks, singer for Fleetwood Mac. She announced to him that she was 8 months pregnant. Ronnie's band before Black Sabbath, Rainbow had played some shows with Fleetwood Mac.

On June 12th 1980, Mark was born. Their relationship secretly lasted another 2 years and they had 2 more children, David and Jacob. By the time Jacob was born, Ronnie had decided to leave Black Sabbath and start a solo career.

Because of Ronnie and Stevie's busy careers, the three children were placed in separate foster homes in Birmingham, AL.

In March of 2001, the brothers re-connected and saw each other for the first time since they were kids. They quickly realized they shared the same goals and love of music.

In 2002, they released their first album White Trash Superstar followed by Bling! Bling! (2003), Life In Reverse (2004) and Slave To The Machine (2006). "Were ready for the world to hear what we do" states Jacob. "The guitars and drums are big and the shows are bigger".

When asked about their feelings for their mom and dad they all just smile, Were not angry says David. We have just recently re-connected with our mom adds Jacob. I wanted to meet her, so I got my girlfriend Natalie to record one of her songs. Her band, The Dixie Chicks had a number 1 single with their version of Landslide.

We are hoping that one day we can reunite with our dad as well, but he is currently in Middle Earth slaying dragons.

I found the write-up on the band interesting...but I've got to question the overall validity of their bio in reference to this specific comment:

I'm curious as to how he was dating Natalie Maines of the Dixie Chicks around the time of 2002 (when the "Landslide" single was recorded and released) considering she's been married to Adrian Pasdar since 2000. Now maybe he meant his friend, who by chance is a girl. Anyways...other than that part, the rest is pretty cool... 8DRTV75

Sounds like they did the best thing for the children. It was a different time, I don't think musicians had then what musicians have today as far as personal assistants, spokespeople, etc.

To me it sounds like it was all for the best. The kids don't lose respect for the parents. Why should you? It sounds like you would have done more for your kids, that's cool, but their story has a happy ending.

That's a trip that you hung out with Ronnie James Dio's son. g6wvuymh87

I think that's probably the way he meant it, as you described, girl+friend = girlfriend and not in the sense of a relationship.

I did find their story interesting, but I wondered where they would be IF the parents had been responsible for their actions and raised these boys.

Quite possibly in the same line of work...except maybe a bit further along...both of their parents are rock stars, and it's common for kids to follow in similar lines of work to their parents, especially sons and fathers. Chances are, they'd probably still have ended up in the music industry...though maybe not as a single, inclusive band. :)

Yeah those 70-'s and 80's band members had huge supporting members. In addition to personal assistances, many, like Led Zeppelin, the Stones, Jeff Beck, Van Halen, the big hair bands, etc , etc even had personal attorney's traveling with the tour.

You gotta take into consideration most of these people couldn't tell you what day of the week it was, much less where they were or what they were doing. You had to be there and experience it first hand. But those folks were needed to keep everything on schedule and the bands out of jail. LOL

Who knows where their heads were.

Having children and "grandchildren" of my own, I can say without reservation, IF Stevie were my daughter, though I would have objected to her actions in giving these boys up, there would not have been a chance in hell they would have been separated and placed in foster care. NONE!

I may have even given her a good swift kick in the ass, but I would have raised those kids, with or without her support.......

I think you misunderstood my post though. I haven't met these guys "yet". My buddy was telling me about them yesterday. They played this place about a month or two back and it's the only time it's ever sold out. They'll be back next Friday night.

After reading their story, I do plan on being there now and hopefully having an opportunity to talk with them. My friend and the owner of the bar are pretty tight, so maybe I'll get in during the sound checks and hang out for a while.

I met Ronnie in 82 at the Fox in Atlanta when he was lead singer for Rainbow.
Blackmore was pretty cool too, but I would have never suspected Ronnie James to be that type. Seemed straight up at the time. Guess you never know.

Whole thing sounds pretty far fetched to me but who knows? I had no idea Dio was from B'ham. I always hated his musical style. But then, I hate Ozzie's too. If it is all indeed true the two of them and their families are pretty sorry IMHO. I don't see how you keep having kids like kittens and pawning them off to foster homes. Abortion?
