Title: Larent Robinson

BlackTalon - April 16, 2008 01:34 AM (GMT)
In the spring drills, the Falcons had him lining up as starting WR opposite Roddy White.
Anyone beside me think that Robinson is about to break out having a good year?

It'll be a breakout if he manages to take a hit w/o fumbling. Considering the competition, I wouldn't read too much into this.

Last year he was a rookie, still trying to adjust to the speed and impact of the game...so I'm not going to criticize him too much. I saw Calvin Johnson make some pretty big mistakes last season too. I think Robinson has the potential to be a starting WR in this league...but I do agree with the idea that it's a little too early to proclaim Robinson anything more than a WR with a potential that needs to show improvement. :)

Ton, he would tell you the same thing.
I heard him interviewed on the radio today and he still considers himself a rookie with a long way to go.

I think, he has potiential to develop nicely.

No doubt...however, like I said before, "Potential" is that little word that means "Ain't done it yet"... ;)

Well yeah but for a 4th round pick in last years draft he seemed as polished as some 1st rounders we have seen in their rookie seasons.

He needs to work on his YAC. Didn't see much of that going on w/him last year. But at least he seems to run good routes, and can catch most of the time.

That is why he is on my fantasy squad. nr6 Go Laurent!!!

well, he did have a 70+ yard catch and burnt his coverage after he caught the ball. So, i'm liking what i saw.

So is Jennings a certifiable bust now?

Not sure if he's a certifiable bust or not...we tend to put a lot more value on a player because of their draft status. It's true, we did take Jenkins at the bottom of the 1st round, after trading up to get him...but he's been on the team for 4 seasons, and he's had to go through different offenses, QBs, coaches, etc...his speed, IMO, isn't overwhelming, but he has shown a willingness to go across the middle and make the tough catches. I'd have to say that he wasn't worth what we spent to get him, but he has been productive, at least when keeping in him perspective with the rest of our passing game through the years.

laurent is sick. if he started all of those games instead of jenkins he probably would have had 700 yds rec or more.

im sick of watching jenkins play. i never talk down about our players and i usually say positive things, but jenkins sucks. he makes me mad. all of the drops and the pick 6's.
