Title: Anyone up for a trip to Jacksonville?
Description: Pre season game August 8th

Jabrjo - April 18, 2008 12:25 PM (GMT)
I meant to say August 9th at 7:30pm

Just looking to see if anyone is interested in going. We went last season for the Falcons game and had a blast with the exception of the loss. We got a good deal on the Wyndham Hotel right on the river across from the Jacksonville landing and the stadium. We even had the whole outside patio reserved at Hooters for a party the night before. If there are enough people interested, I will check into it to find out what kind of deal we can get. We even got good prices on our tickets to the game.

How far of a drive is that?

It took me around 8 hours driving from Brevard, NC. I think someone that came down from Atlanta said it took them a little over 6 hours.

Dude, you were haulin' ass!

I'm from Asheville, NC & live in Marietta. It takes us about 3.5-4 hrs. to do that trip. But my folks are on the east side of Asheville, and I think Brevard is west if I remember right.

Anyway, yeah, my wife & I might be interested in a road trip. Not following you though. We don't want to die. nr6

Technically, I left from Hendersonville that day which is right on I - 26 that goes into Charleston and cut down I - 95 on into Jacksonville. I actually saved the 30 minutes it takes to get to Hendersonville from Brevard.

I am planning on arriving that Friday afternoon, but my guess is that some people wouldn't get there until Saturday during the day. If that is the case, it would be nice if we could meet up somewhere before the game. When we went last year, we had a party at Hooters the night before, but being this is a Saturday night game, we could probably do something like that before the game. I talked to the manager there and he said if we have enough people, they would set us up like they did before. We had the whole outside patio to ourselves and we charged $20 per person for all the beer and wings we could consume for the time we were there. If we don't have a whole lot of people, we could just order as we go. It's just a thought. The Wyndham hotel also has a nice bar in it. That could be a good place to meet up after the game if that's where most people stay. I'm trying to get an idea on how many people would be wanting rooms before I contact the hotel and see what kind of discount we can get. We got it for $99 a night last year when there regular rate was like $129 or higher per night.
