Thanks again everyone...Cindy & Fooz, we'll actually end up in Frankfort...very nice. I love that area. Trying to convince the wife about my plan of buying a piece of commercial property in the downtown area, overlooking the river, and converting it into a big ass open floorplan loft for the top 2 floors, then possibly a roof garden/outdoor kitchen area. We can use the first floor as a garage/storage area. Brick in all the non-needed access doors, and just have the garage door on that level, and an actual front door that people can walk up 1 level to get to...It's pricey, and we're not loaded, but my folks want to help out, since they didn't have to help pay for our wedding 8 years ago, and we're the kids that haven't had to borrow money from them...I think between their help, the money from the sale of this house in WR, retention package, the liquidation of my 401K, and tax money, we can easily afford to buy this place, and still have enough for the repairs and renovations...but something tells me we're going to end up renting a ranch house near her mother and stepfather's house...yippee... 8DRTV75

Actually, I love my in-laws...but I really love the idea of that big ass loft overlooking the river...and oh, did I mention that the the oldest bourbon distillery in the nation is on the other side of that river...Buffalo Trace, and at night, it's a beautiful sight... g6wvuymh87
