Out of the two (ryan or henne)

Out of the two? Henne.
But I'd rather have Flacco also.

Depends on which draft pick is used... I'd take Henne in the 2nd round over Ryan at #3. But I would take Ryan in the 2nd over Henne in the 2nd.

Rare. But it happens on occassion.
Oh. And while we're throwing out options you didn't give us... Brohm, then Flacco, then Ryan, then Henne in order of preference.

Giving 5 in order.
Ryan
Brohm
Flacco
Henne
Woodson

Henne in the 2nd round, Which is what I hope we do..
Dorsey or Eliis at 3.

My feelings on it are simple...if we have to draft a QB, then we draft the best one...and that's Matt Ryan, regardless of all the opinions to the contrary. Flacco may be great, but he's completely untested, having played in minor league college ball. Henne is interesting, but his performances at Michigan have been inconsistent and erratic at best. Woodson has huge potential, but it's huge potential in both directions. He can be a stud or a bust...After that, we're looking at guys like Ainge, who could very well be a very good QB, but he's a 3rd, 4th, or 5th rounder at best in this draft, and as I stated, if we're going to get a QB, then we should get the best. Ryan has done the most with the least, unlike Brohm, who this year, did the least, with the most... 8DRTV75

I agree, Ton.
The main argument againts Ryan (that has been brought up by several good posters) is, his number of INT`s.
However, if that same stat was used againts Dan Marino when he was coming out of Pitt.
He might not have even been a 1st round selection?
He was and I think he did OK.

Ryan's INT number can be easily explained for by anyone watching the game. He simply was trying to make plays with an inferior cast surrounding him. I saw him throw 4 or 5 INTs that were deflections off of his receivers. I also saw him throw a few when he was into tight coverage only to have it go through his WRs hands. I also saw some that were just simply piss poor decisions, while under fire. I'm not proclaiming him the best QB ever to come down the pike, or that he's the next Joe Montana. Just that he's better than his numbers might indicate... :)

Matt Ryan. He'll be the pick if Dorsey is gone.
Iowahorse - April 24, 2008 01:13 PM (GMT)
I hope not, but I think you may be right.
