Man making homemade fireworks destroys his house.

(Macedonia) - There was a huge explosion at a home in the northern Summit County town of Macedonia. It blew out the home's windows, knocked the kitchen cabinets off the walls and tipped over the refrigerator

Police Detective Richard Rizzo says the homeowner was apparently testing explosives for homemade fireworks when something went wrong. That man is currently in custody and was not hurt.

The man's mother was in the home and is also OK.

As a precaution, police blocked off the area of Harper Lane and Melody Lane and evacuated residents. They believe the explosives are no longer a danger.

Neighbors tell our Ted Klopp that it was the loudest explosion they have ever heard or felt..
