Title: Any predictions?

BlackTalon - April 25, 2008 07:09 PM (GMT)
We have waited, sifted through the hype, information and dis-information.
Who do you think will be the number 3 pick in the NFL draft?

My guess...Glenn Dorsey

gritzblitz56 - April 25, 2008 07:26 PM (GMT)
I would love to have Dorsey and we will snatch him up if the Rams pass on him and take Chris Long. But my prediction is that Dorsey will go to the Rams and we will bend to media pressure and take a QB that is not worth taking as the third pick.

I'm afraid we will be responsible for creating another Joey Harrington. !ff/:

JDaveG - April 25, 2008 07:51 PM (GMT)
Matt Ryan.

I'm not saying he'd be my pick, but that's the way I see it shaking out.

And I'll support Dimitroff. I'm skeptical, but if we draft Ryan, I trust him more than I trust me or any of y'all.

I think the Rams are bluffing and they will take Chris Long, ( it`s just a hunch) leaving the Falcons to take Dorsey.

The Rams need is at DE not at NT.

I predict that the OMB will crash tomorrow, and that if anyone comes online to talk about the draft they will probably be here. :)

Oh, and I hope that BT is right on his prediction and that JDave is wrong.

It sounds good anyway.

Yeh well, I`m not worried about the Rams selecting Dorsey to keep.
They have let it be known that they would trade the 2nd pick and the Saints are jerking themselves off wanting Dorsey bad.
And hell fire, no Falcon would want to see the Saints draft Dorsey just in front of them.
If there is a delimma?
That it`s it.
The Rams know that and are hoping the Falcons offer a trade up for Dorsey as the Falcons have more to offer in return.

I say, just hold our ground and see what happens.
I think, Dorsey will be there and the Saints won`t come up with the ammo to pull the trigger on a trade?

Hell yeah, hold our ground! I mean, the worst that could happen is still not the end of the world. :dunno:

Nope, not the end of the world but the more I think about it the more I want Dorsey on the Falcons D-line.

Consider, there is no one player out there short of Payton Manning that`s going to cause the Falcons offence to suddenly be significantly improved and he is not available.
However, a bad azz DT will cause the D-line to be much better, freeing up Abraham and Anderson on the edges to make plays.
Face it, we need a D that can keep us in close games and an effective run game.
Our best bet for quick impact from this draft is Dorsey.

RobSalvador - April 26, 2008 01:16 AM (GMT)
I just hope the Rams cant find a trade partner or decide Dorsey will fit somewhere. From what Ive read theyve been 3-4 and 4-3, so you could potentially use a prime DT.

Problem with the DOrsey pic, is we still have huge holes at QB and LT. I know we can package pics to get one but the other?

I don`t think we will have to package picks to get a QB any longer but to get a goot LT we might have to slide back up into the mid to lower 1st round with a package deal?

You must be hearing different stuff than me. Way I heard it Ryan and Brohm are gone by mid 20's. At that point there are only 2 descent prospects and 10 pics to go. Dangerous gamble if we want to wait.

It really depends on who Dimitroff has targeted.
If it`s Henne, Booty or Flacco he could be there all the way down to the mid 2nd round but I`m reasonably sure all the top OT`s (as many as 6 or 7) will be gone by the top of the 2nd round.

I had sigs turned off but went and changed it to take a peek.

The only thing I have to say to that is:
With the 3rd pick of the 2008 NFL draft.
The Atlanta Falcons select Glenn Dorsey. nr6

I hope you're right! Man, I'm more excited about this draft than I have been in years. Unfortunately, wife has to work in the morning half a day, and we're having a community yard sale, soooo I gotta get up early in the morning. Going to be hard to make myself go to sleep tonight.

Myself, I cool either way.
Dorsey or Ryan.
I just wish we could have both.
