Obama Cheap shots

1) Every time he calls McCain on the 100 years in Iraq thing it's a cheap shot. Gross distortion. I hope he stops. Sure, we're dumb enough for it to be effective but I HATE intellectual dishonesty.

2) "McCain is LOSING HIS BEARINGS" . . . This is the 2nd time this week I've noticed this cute little tactic. It's FAIR in that McCain is hyocritical when he attacks Obama for the Humas "endorsement" . . . but Obama's word choice is obviously (or at least probably) a veiled reference to McCain's age. "Losing his bearings" = "getting senile"

I think he said something similar in his speech Tuesday night.

McCain's Cheap shots:
1) ""It's clear who Hamas wants to be president of the United States. . . . If Sen. Obama is favored by Hamas, people can make judgments accordingly."

That's just slimy and mean.

Where did you see that McCain cheap shot? I didn't see the speech, but he said almost the exact same thing (regarding Hamas) on the Daily Show.

Did they boo him when he said that on the Daily Show? They should have.

I'll try . . .

What about this line from his speech. I thought I had heard something that sounded like a veiled shot at McCain's age but this one might be a reach:

And while I honor John McCain's service to his country, his ideas for America are out of touch with these values.

You know, it might be worse than a shot at McCain's age. He might be doing something far more nefarious. . . . conjuring up allusions to the old quesions about McCain's sanity. I've always been concerned that the man was a little touched myself. But how do you make than an issue for a guy who went through what McCain did at the Hanoi Hilton?

"Out of touch"="losing touch"??

You know the Daily Show. It's mostly for shits & giggles, so most everybody just giggled. He kind of said the thing about Obama/Hamas, and then immediately followed that with "... Well, I can tell you who they don't want to be president, that's for sure." Or something to that effect. Should be pretty close, but I was admittedly 3 beers towards sleepy time when I was watching that.

And here we go . . . .

McCain camp accuses Obama of making age an issue

CNN) — John McCain’s campaign accused Barack Obama of making the presumptive Republican nominee’s age an issue after his Thursday remark that the Arizona senator was “losing his bearings as he pursues this nomination.”

"First, let us be clear about the nature of Senator Obama's attack today: He used the words 'losing his bearings' intentionally, a not particularly clever way of raising John McCain's age as an issue,” said McCain adviser Mark Salter. “This is typical of the Obama style of campaigning.

“We have all become familiar with Senator Obama's new brand of politics. First, you demand civility from your opponent, then you attack him, distort his record and send out surrogates to question his integrity. It is called hypocrisy, and it is the oldest kind of politics there is.”

Earlier on CNN, Obama that McCain's contention that Hamas wants Obama to be president was “offensive, and I think it's disappointing, because John McCain always says ‘I am not going to run that kind of politics.’ And to engage in that kind of smear is unfortunate, particularly because my policy toward Hamas has been no different than his.

“…So for him to toss out comments like that I think is an example of him losing his bearings as he pursues this nomination. We don’t need name calling in this debate.”

Salter said Obama had misinterpreted McCain’s remarks. "The McCain campaign has never suggested that Senator Obama supports Hamas' agenda, but it is more than fair to raise this quote about Senator Obama because it speaks to the policy implications of his judgment."

Linking to Salter’s comments with the title “MCCAIN CAMPAIGN RANT CAN BE FOUND HERE,” Obama spokesman Bill Burton said in an e-mail to reporters that Salter had misinterpreted the Illinois senator’s remarks.

“Clearly losing one’s bearings has no relation to age, given this bizarre rant that Mark Salter just sent out,” said Burton. “It’s clear why a candidate offering a third term of George Bush’s disastrous economic policies and failed strategy in Iraq would want to distract and attack, but it’s not the kind of campaign John McCain has promised the American people that he would run.” [B]

McCain needs to get a grip. The Obama/Hamas comments show that he's out of touch with the real world. Then when Obama cracks back and McCain's campaign complain's that he's insulting their candidates age. McCain questions Obama's patriotism and gets pissed when he retaliates. I'm slowly losing respect for the senile, old geezer! :bs:
