Todd Davis' fantasy football edge
Drop them and don't look back
WR Matt Jones, Jacksonville Most of the primary receivers for teams were taken in your fantasy draft, so when an available player has three touchdowns in his last four games, you start to take notice. His 117-yard total Sunday was his first trip over the century mark, and he may make that a habit if his upcoming schedule proves as easy as it looks.
Hurry and acquire these guys
WR Roy Williams, Detroit: I admit I gave up on Williams after only two games of 50 yards or more. But his effort Sunday (seven catches, 117 yards) reminds me of his bright moments in 2004, even with Joey Harrington as QB.
K John Kasay, Carolina: The 30-3 thrashing of the Jets marked the third consecutive game in which the Panthers scored 30 or more points. Not surprisingly, Kasay is getting many of those points – 30 over the last three weeks.
QB Chris Simms, Tampa Bay: I don't know how much quality you can expect, but it looks as if coach Jon Gruden will provide quantity. Tampa Bay can't run, so if you can put up with interceptions, Simms will get shots at good numbers.
Drop them and don't look back
RB T.J. Duckett, Atlanta: I'm doing this for you as a favor. Every time fantasy columnists tell you to dump Duckett, he does well. So either keep him and wait for him to mysteriously play well again or drop this seldom-used player.
QB Josh McCown, Arizona: Well, it was fun while it lasted. Kurt Warner did what he had to do, turning 29 completions into 359 yards against Detroit to push McCown farther behind him in the Cardinals' pecking order.
WR Travis Taylor, Minnesota: I like Brad Johnson, but Minnesota just isn't going to be a good offensive team. So this might be the first in a series of Vikings to release. Since a two-touchdown game on Sept. 25, he has done little.
