Title: Joe Theisman made a good point
Description: really, I mean it

first off, I hated ESPN's coverage of this game - seems like they missed several plays while they were talking about something stupid - I still do not know which Falcon roughed the passer in the second quarter becuase they barely acknowledged there was a penalty
but there was one point Theisman made that I thought was interesting - on a slant route which went incomplete, he said Vick's quickness hurt him - basically said that he dropped back so quick that he is throwing the ball faster than the reciever can get to the spot
I don't know if that is true, but it is something to think about - of course I think it was incomplete to White, so it may be we just need faster receivers

I agree. Vick's quickness could actually be hurting him on quick timing routes.
I'm sure they hook up in practice, but when Vick turns it up to game speed, it puts him just that little bit ahead of the reciever and throws the timing off just enough.

All in all, Mike looked very efficient. His timing looked better to me
on timing routes. The O-line starters did a better job this week and
when they failed, Mike made some good reads on the run. Jenkins
was pretty well covered on both touchdown catches (The second one
was a little lucky) so I still don't beleive he is getting seperation.

I thought dem Birds looked sharp and very dangerous. Just not perfect.
Man, I'm really getting PUMPED for 9/12, and the whole season!
Let's GO ATLANTA!!!

Agreed. The starting O is looking like they're ready. It still looks like we go hot and cold really fast. I'm really looking forward to seeing how the O looks over the course of an entire 60 minutes when it counts.
The ST is there. Punts don't seem very deep, but lots of hang and great coverage. STill don't know what to expect on the FG attempts.
D is still a little too weak against the pass. We really need our DL at full strength to start putting some pressure on QBs.

On ST I was definently impressed with Todd's field goals from
40, 40, and 38. he doesn't have a really strong leg but his acuracy
has been great. beyond 40 I don't know if he has enough leg.
Gowin was great punting but only got one kick off deep. Fealy
will be missed on kick offs. Rossum looked great on ST (wish I
could say the same about CB but he was covering a freak).
Starting O-line as I said before was really good, but when Shaub
came in so did Martin Bibla (still my pre season LVP).

That's what I'm talking about, those kicks beyond the 40 that we really don't know what to expect. I still feel better than I did last year with Feely. And it was raining last night, so any made FGs were that much more impressive.
I won't be surprised to see Bibla get the ax pretty soon. Maybe in this round of cuts.

Yeah, I'd say those feild goals averaged 4 yards past the cross
bar.
I hope Bibla is out of here. I know that Gibbs wasn't impressed with
him last year. They have had good things to say about Omiyale
so far.
