These SMART cars make perfect sense for people who commute to work by car and for people who live in large cities. People in Europe have been driving them for years.
They not only get great milage, they also take up less space on the road and in parking garages. There has to be some way to get the U.S. public to give up their fascination with huge cars and get them into more efficient transportation. Maybe do what some European cities have done, and make it where large vehicles can only come into the cities to make deliveries, and then only at night. During the day when most people commute to work and shop, only public transportation and SMART-type vehicles are allowed.
