Jason's voice: Some things are too important to lie about.

Sam: You had all the chances in the world to make it right, but no, you wanted Lucky chained to your side while you ran after Jason! So you lied to him about the most important thing in his life. Not only did he think that you --

Jason: Sam! You need to stop this.

Lucky: Don't you come in here and order Sam around.

Sam: No, no, Lucky, please, don't -- don't bother defending me. Elizabeth is never going to admit what she did wrong.

Lucky: Sam --

Sam: So forget I even said anything.

Lucky: Sam, you were furious. Now all of a sudden you're just going to let it go?

Sam: Because there's no point, Lucky.

Lucky: It's because Jason showed up.

Lucky: What is it that you don't want Sam to tell me?

Jason: It's not Sam's truth to tell.

Jason: You're not Jake’s father, Lucky.

Jason: I am.

Jason: I was wrong to let you believe Jake was your son.

Lucky: You're lying.

Jason: I'm sor--

Lucky: You want Elizabeth. And you know that I would never let you near my son.

Elizabeth: Lucky --

Lucky: Don't tell me you're a part of this. Tell me you didn't know he wanted to steal my son.

Elizabeth: Jake's not your son.

Lucky: You told me he was! Elizabeth, you swore to me!

Elizabeth: I lied.

Lucky: You're lying now. You would do anything for him. And I can prove it because I will take a paternity test.

Elizabeth: If that's what you need to accept what I'm saying, that's what you should do.

Lucky: Why should I accept that Jake isn't mine? I love him! I'm Jake's father. You told me I was his father, Elizabeth!

Elizabeth: I'm sorry.

Lucky: You are a lying *****!

Jason: Hey, hey.

Lucky: I should kill you right now, you son of a b****!

Jason: You're not going to kill anyone.

Lucky: You know, screw you.

Sam: Hey, hey, hey, come on. Come on, let's go. You need to --

Lucky: What kind of coward are you, Jason -- to lie about your own child?

Elizabeth: Jason didn't want to lie.

Lucky: Don't tell me you forced him and Jason couldn't make his own choice?

Elizabeth: He didn't know I was pregnant with his baby until he saved me at the Metro Court.

Lucky: That was in February. So why the hell didn't you tell me until now?

Sam: Um, that's because I was in the way.

Elizabeth: You b****!

Sam: Excuse me, you do not have any right to call anyone any names. Jason couldn't claim his child because he was still committed to barren, childless me, so he had to unload me first. After months of lies, I finally got enough self-respect and left him.

Elizabeth: Oh, that is not what happened.

Sam: No?

Lucky: Okay, then you tell me what did happen. Why did you lie about Jake, a child that isn't even mine?

Elizabeth: You checked yourself into rehab when I found out I was pregnant. You turned your entire life around because you thought you were going to be a father. How was I supposed to take that away from you?

Lucky: Oh, so you seriously think I owe you some kind of favor?

Jason: I know you don't want to hear it, but she was trying to protect you.

Lucky: Because I'm a pathetic drug addict, right? I'm not some big hero like Jason here, Jake's father? Don't you have any respect for me at all?

Elizabeth: I was wrong. I was totally and completely wrong, and I am so, so sorry.

Lucky: I don't give a damn how sorry you are!

Jason: Do you want an explanation or do you want to leave, because I'm not going to stand here and let you yell at Elizabeth.

Lucky: Well, then why don't you go and shoot me right now? Because that's what you do, isn't it? You wouldn't care if I died anyway, would you?

Elizabeth: Yes, I'd care. Why do you think I lied? You were killing yourself with those drugs, and I couldn't let you go back to using them. So hate me if you want, but at least you're still alive.

Lucky: So when'd you find out it was Jason's baby?

Elizabeth: I took a paternity test when you were in rehab. But your mother had had that brief recovery and everyone was happy and then devastated when she relapsed -- there just wasn't a right time to tell you.

Sam: No? You're not falling for this, are you?

Lucky: No, I want to hear it all.

Elizabeth: Oh, God. Our divorce had gone through. You wanted to remarry because of -- because of Jake. Sam and Jason were together and then the whole Metro Court thing happened and then Jason and I got trapped in an elevator together. We didn't think we'd make it out alive and I just couldn't -- I couldn't lie anymore.

Lucky: You couldn't lie to Jason.

Elizabeth: You came to see me when I was in the hospital and you told me you were letting that go, and yes, I should've accepted it. But, Lucky, we loved each other so much for such a long time. I just couldn't leave you with nothing.

Sam: So you thought it was, what, better to marry him and lie about the baby?

Lucky: Not just me. She lied in court. You committed perjury.

Jason: I was on trial for murder. If I'd been convicted, Elizabeth didn't want Jake to have a father in prison.

Lucky: I see. Elizabeth was so noble. So were you, actually.

Jason: I thought I was protecting Jake.

Lucky: You didn't want to stop doing what you do -- that's breaking the law and killing people.

Sam: You are so right. Jason, you are supposed to be so wonderful with children, but they really don't fit into your lifestyle, right? So, what, you thought it was easier or best to dump Jake off on Lucky?

Elizabeth: Jason was trying to protect Jake from anyone who would hurt him, starting with you, Sam.

Lucky: Why are you trying to shift all the blame on to Sam?

Elizabeth: She wanted to hurt Jason any way she could.

Lucky: Good for Sam!

Elizabeth: She's -- she's using you, Lucky.

Lucky: Yeah, kind of like you did.

Elizabeth: No, I thought I was helping you. And that Jake would be safe and that we could be a family. That's what you wanted, right? I tried to make it work. I was wrong. But I never used you.

Lucky: I am so sick of all your excuses.

Jason: That's enough. You know the truth. Tearing into Elizabeth is not going to change anything.

Lucky: You know the sickest, saddest part is that you would've lied to Jake his whole life about who he really is.

Elizabeth: Are you happy now? Did it feel good to rip Lucky's heart out?

Sam: Oh, no, don't you dare act like any of this is my fault.

Elizabeth: You've been wanting to tell Lucky about Jake this whole time. That's why you brought him down here.

Sam: Jason told Lucky. You're going to have to ask him why. But the fact of the matter is not even Jason is to blame for this, Elizabeth. You started this lie and only you. You watched it grow -- until it poisoned every single one of us, especially Lucky. What happened here tonight is all on you.

Sam: Lucky. Lucky, I am so sorry.

Lucky: They let me believe that Jake was my son. I held him. I watched him grow. I see traces of myself in him.

Sam: I'm sorry.

Lucky: You know, the first time that I saw Jake, it -- he was in Jason's arms. But Elizabeth got what she wanted. She wanted Jason to take claim to what was his, and tonight he did.

Elizabeth: I pushed you to give up your son. I let Lucky believe that Jake was his. I caused all this and it was completely wrong. But I still don't see why -- why'd you have to tell Lucky tonight?

Jason: Because I'm Jake's father, and it was my responsibility.

Elizabeth: But Sam backed down when she saw you.

Jason: No, Sam thought telling the truth about Jake would hurt me -- it's the only power she had. She was going to use it eventually.

Elizabeth: Eventually. Not tonight. Not when there's a killer in the main house and men running around with guns. It's just a really bad time for Lucky to lose everything.

Jason: I know that you want to protect Lucky.

[Thunder]

Jason: But I'm Jake's father. I just couldn't lie about him anymore.

Lucky: You tried to tell me that Elizabeth was lying to me.

Sam: It doesn't give me any satisfaction to know that I was right about this.

Lucky: What am I supposed to do? I mean, what about Jake? Am I supposed to suddenly turn my back on him? I mean, how does that work?

Sam: Lucky, I am so, so sorry. I -- I wish I would've told you months ago.

Lucky: How long have you known that Jake isn't my son?

Sam: I've known since the day after he was born.
