=====
Ric: Well, it appears I missed the beginning of a fascinating conversation. Why would little Jake be in danger?
Lucky: This doesn't concern you.
Ric: Well, the sudden rash of stranglings in this town are very much my business, Officer Spencer. Do you have reason to believe that the man who killed Emily would go after your son?
=====
Lucky: I was warning Jason to stay away from Elizabeth.
Ric: Still beating your head against that brick wall, huh?
Lucky: Yeah, that's something I do on a regular basis, especially now that Anthony Zacchara killed Emily. She wouldn't have been on his radar if she hadn't been Jason's sister.
Ric: Doesn't that make you feel the least little bit responsible on some level? Nah, of course not -- right. Well, your little sister was murdered and you haven't done a thing to help the investigation. Ah, maybe you're immune to it. Just one more innocent casualty, right?
Mac: Lucky? Lucky, we need your help. Someone just tried to kill Maxie. Let's go -- move!
=====
Mac: Ok. It's ok. You're ok. Here, sit back a little bit. Let me see your neck. Thank God you walked in when you did.
Maxie: I was, um, really scared.
Mac: I know, I know, sweetheart, but it's over now, ok? It's over. I promise you we're going to find whoever did this, and I will personally make him sorry.
Lucky: Maxie, what can you tell us about this guy?
Maxie: I didn't even see anything.
Mac: Ok, listen, listen, sweetheart. Just start at the beginning, ok?
Maxie: Ahem -- um
Mac: Just tell me exactly what happened.
Maxie: I was in a hurry to change -- and he must have already been here, because I went to go up the stairs, and all of a sudden I had a cord around my neck.
Mac: And you didn't hear anything?
Maxie: Just his breathing.
Mac: Ok, all right. Georgie, what about you?
Georgie: I was on autopilot. I was running through the door looking for something, and all of a sudden, I saw Maxie on the ground, and somebody running past me.
Mac: Then you saw him?
Georgie: Just for a split second.
Lucky: Can you identify him?
Ric: Why would someone want to kill Maxie? Unless, of course, she witnessed something incriminating during the night of the ball? Well, you got to give it to him -- Nikolas knows how to throw one hell of a party. Of course, your sister is dead, but it doesn't seem to trouble you much at all.
Jason: I want -- I want my attorney.
Ric: Yeah, yeah, I know. Don't worry -- the formidable Ms. Miller will be along, I'm sure, eventually. But in the meantime -- near-death experiences make you think, don't they? Well, that is, if you're capable. I know that my perspective on a few things has certainly changed since that night. Hmm. Sonny's blood literally flows through my veins now. My brother -- my long-detested brother -- saved my life. And my father was the catalyst. I don't know -- or maybe it was Kate. Either way, he asked. First time in his life he actually showed that he cared. Huh -- not that I'm looking for any kind of warm, fuzzy family reunion anytime soon, but -- the one thing that hasn't changed for me, Jason, is the absolute contempt that I hold you in with the way you trashed Elizabeth’s life. You played on her infatuation with you, and you -- you took advantage of her vulnerability during the breakup of her marriage, not because you were serious but because you wanted to satisfy your own selfish needs. You are a shallow, heartless bastard and I think Lucky is absolutely right to want you away from Elizabeth and her kids. Because the fact of the matter is, Jason, wherever you go, death and destruction always follow.
=====
Lucky: Anything you can remember about this guy can be helpful.
Mac: Yeah, even if it doesn't seem important.
Georgie: I've told you everything.
Mac: All right, look -- try a general description.
Georgie: I don't know -- he was medium, medium height, medium build. Brownish hair, I think, but -- black. He was definitely wearing black.
Mac: Okay, good, good. That's a start.
Georgie: I think he sent me a text message.
Mac: What do you mean?
Georgie: Well, I got a message earlier today and it said "Seen your sis?" I didn't think anything of it when I got it, but maybe it was -- it was a warning that someone was coming after Maxie.
=====
Luke: Hey. When did you get here?
Lucky: A few minutes ago. Working a case, so I can't stay. I just wanted to talk to you.
Luke: Well, if you're working up to list all the reasons why I should stay on the planet and fight for my life, save your breath.
Lucky: Dad, that bypass will save your life.
Luke: Yeah, that's what they say. I don't expect you to understand, son. You're young and you're strong, and your body has never betrayed you.
Lucky: Sure it has. I'm a recovering drug addict, remember?
Luke: Well, that's not the same.
Lucky: Well, it is if you think about it. I mean, my body -- it was dependent on something that other people could resist, so -- it came with a sense of failure and shame.
Luke: I never thought of it like that.
Lucky: Well, see? Then I know you better than you think.
Luke: Okay, Sonny boy. Give your old man some sage advice.
Lucky: Huh, I -- well, I can only speak about what I've learned. When you speak about your own disappointment and your own limitations by pushing your body to more extremes, you made a conscious decision to -- to throw away your own life.
=====
Jason: The attack on Maxie mirrors the attacks on Leticia, Emily, and Carly.
Johnny: Is Maxie all right?
Jason: I just know that she's alive. And so far, you're the only person who had a look at the attacker.
Johnny: I already told you and the cops, when I came through the entranceway at Wyndemere, Carly was already on the ground, the guy was running away. I saw him from behind. He was wearing all black. That's all I know.
Jason: Tall, short? Bald, thin? Heavyset? Something here?
Johnny: About my height, medium build, brownish hair.
Lucky: Sorry, am I interrupting mob business?
Johnny: What are you doing walking in my house?
Lucky: I'm taking you in for questioning.
Johnny: About?
Lucky: About the assault on Maxie Jones.

>> On the next "General Hospital" --
Maxie: I remember something.
Georgie: How did you know about the text message?
Lulu: My dad needs an operation tonight.
Monica: We're running out of time.
Luke: I'll be back.
Epiphany: We're losing the patient!
