[Elizabeth sighs]
Elizabeth: Lucky, I'm not really --
Lucky: It's over, okay?
Elizabeth: I don't really trust that Sam's not going to press charges against me for the hit-and-run.
Lucky: Sam just wants all this animosity to end.
Elizabeth: No, Lucky, she wants you. I mean, come on, let's be honest. She knows it's not going to go over well -- she sends me to prison, takes the boys away from their mother.
Lucky: Give Sam a little credit. I mean, after all, you sat on this for weeks.
Elizabeth: To protect the truth about Jake’s paternity. And I didn't want to come forward until I was absolutely sure.
Lucky: You know what? And I explained that to her, and she gets it. I was just hoping that you might show a little of the same understanding.
Elizabeth: Oh. So that's how it is now?
Lucky: Sam and I are going to give it another shot. We're going to take things slow, but eventually she's going to be around Cameron and Jake. I'm more than protective of those little boys, and I'm upset because what Sam did, but I know in my heart that she would never put them in danger again.
Elizabeth: Oh. Okay, I am grateful for things Sam said. I just wish she were the person you think she is.
Lucky: And that's not your problem.
Elizabeth: Well, it kind of is when you expect me to trust her.
Lucky: You know what? You're never going to let this go, are you?
Elizabeth: It's not just the children I'm thinking about.
Lucky: It's my life, my choice --
Elizabeth: I know.
Lucky: And I'm making it.
Lucky: Surprise.
Sam: You don't have to do this.
Lucky: Oh, I haven't even started yet. I'm going to take you out to dinner tonight, and then I was thinking maybe we should go --
Sam: No, Lucky, really, you don't have to do this. Turns out Elizabeth isn't the one who hit me with her car. Yeah, Spinelli -- he was able to dig up some surveillance footage. Anyway, it was Monica Quartermaine --
Lucky: Monica?
Sam: Yes, and don't worry -- I already told Jason -- and I'm not going to press -- I'm not going to press any charges. So you don't have to pretend to romance me for Elizabeth or -- or anyone else. You're free to walk away -- just like you wanted to.
