I have been just this last nov. to SSW and I found it wild and crowded and often difficult to get into events due to crowds etc.

for those of you that have been to LA for fan club weekend.... how hard is that to see the ones you want to see. is there a fee for each event.. how expensive can it get etc... any info you have -- gimme as i have always wanted to go.

i think i asked this on another post too. has anyone been to the charity event in LV that has stars from all soaps? it is called the proevent.inc.... i think.

mturner - I know what you mean about SSW being crazy.. It was really crazy this year and was hard to get to things. I haven't been to FCW but plan to attend next year. :) We have a thread for FCW started in the Everything Else thread that has more info. There are separate events for different actors and there is a cost to attend. The schedule and information can be found at

I'm sure the ones that attended FCW this year can give you more insite than I did. The one thing I can tell you is that the separate events for each actor is worth the money because you are guaranteed to see that person - for example Greg's events are great. :)

I have never been to SSW but I have been to FCW. From the sounds of it FCW seems to be more relaxing, and less rushed and more time with your favorite stars.

FCW is much more relaxed that SSW. There is one main luncheon, which costs around $100. This event features almost all of the actors. Lunch is served during the presentations onstage (warning ... food not very good). After some charity auctions, the fan club awards ceremony, and some goofing around onstage, the actors all break into groups for the autograph sessions.

Many of the actors also have their own events. These are the best, in that you get more one-on-one time with the actor, and also in that there are usually several other castmembers present as well. At Greg's event last year, Cyndy Preston and Rick Hearst were guests.

Plus, Studio City is just a much nicer place to hang out than Orlando.

ITA with BG. The cost for FCW is a higher than SSW because each event is separate, BUT the money is better spent simply because of the fan to actor ratio and the relatively relaxed pace of everything.

Last year I did 5 events including the luncheon and I definitely had events that I preferred over others. BG was being nice when she said the food at the luncheon was not very good. The big thing there is the autograph time. The lines were long and it was hot in there. But compared to the lines and the insanity at SSW, it was soooooo much shorter and I didn't encouter the aggressiveness at FCW that is so prevelant at SSW.

This year SSW was much more of a challenge for me because I was ill. But even without that being a factor the crowds alone made it harder for me to enjoy the event in general. Hanging out with my friends was pretty much what SSW was about for me. :D

I have to agree with the girls here! Although I've never been to FCW I know I can atest to the fact that SSW was a mad house!!! A real running of the bulls, lol!!! It was mostly about seeing my buds than anything! I had a blast, just way too many people for me! I know from talking to B and Mai they have told me that FCW is a much more relaxed atmosphere with alot more time to mingle with the actors. I don't know if I will ever make it to a FCW but wanted to let you know that it has to be much less crazier than SSW. Hope you all have fun, I will be with you all in spirit!!! ;)

I am going to agree with everyone else! Don't get me wrong SSW is so much fun but you are fighting people to get some pics and stuff and sometimes it just gets old. AT GHFCW you get one on one with them if you attend their events and talk with them and take some nice pics. The only downfall is it is very expensive. Other than that is is so worth going. i went last year for the first time and HAD A BLAST!!! I went to every event and had so much fun!! I love when they talk to you for more than 5 minutes. I will never forget before Wally's Bingo started Lindze(Georgie she was in the hotel lobby talking to us for like a hour and a half before she had to go inside!!! They are all so nice! SO ITS DEF WORTH IT AND HOPE TO SEE U THERE THIS YEAR!!!

SSW vs FCW?

FCW all the way. I went to SSW in 2002 and I will never go again.

FCW may be a little more expensive, but it's so much more woth it. Personal events, the extra personal time with the actors, the huge amount of time fans get to spend with other fans - it's all worth it.
