Anybody going? I'm going to be there for Fun in the Sun, but not sure about the parade the night before!

I will post the pictures when I get back. Hopefully, it will be easy to get some good shots at Fun in the Sun. The parades are so crazy...that might be a little more difficult. Hopefully it will be a fun day.

I've only met Greg once and it was a very brief hi...hello...good to meet you thing, but he makes every second count. He is so personable, I can't wait!

Hey Roxanne...if you go PM me and perhaps we can meet up at the event on Saturday. My husband and I are going to stay Friday night for my birthday...then I'll be at Fun in the Sun on Saturday. (He'll probably ditch me and go walking around for that part)

We're still debating on the parade as well. We always get lost there. (And we go enough to know better) I'm worried about the traffic and the proximity of the parade route to where we are staying. I'm going to call tonight and see if it is in walking distance, because I just can't see us driving anywhere.

Yes...we are staying at a place adjacent to burbon street. It is not right in the heart of the French Quarter, but walking distance to everything. I can't seem to find the paper with the name on it..but I will and let you know tomorrow!

We are staying at the Chateau Sonesta. It is supposedly centrally located enough to walk to everything. They have some sort of an observation deck to watch the parades...not sure if it is at the hotel or off property. I'm looking into that for the parade...it costs, but the parades are insane so it may be worth it. I'll let you know about it.

We will have to get in touch before the trip....so that we can meet up somewhere. Especially for Fun in the Sun.

Hi Tereasa, that is good that your hotel is centrally located. Since we decided kind of late on going, I could not reserve ANY hotel in New Orleans!! Our hotel will be in Baton Rouge! Its an hour and a half from the French Quarter! I didn't have a choice because I really want to go to the Fun In The Sun event.

We plan to arrive in Baton Rouge on Friday, check into our room and then drive to New Orleans. Hopefully we are able to find PARKING. I think that will be our biggest obstacle. If we find parking, we'll probably try to find a spot to watch the parade. I need to go back and find out the name of the parade that will feature the soap stars.

My plan for Saturday is to leave our hotel very early and once again drive back to New Orleans. Since the Fun in The Sun Tour starts at 12, we should have plenty of time to find parking and walk to where the event will be at. I believe it will be in Jackson Square?? Are you staying for all of the event? I think it is from 12-3??

Yes....I'll be there for the entire event on Saturday then probably go to Margaritaville to eat.

I'm still trying to find out more information about the grand stands to watch the parade. When I called the girl there didn't seem to know exactly what they are. If you do let me know? In Mobile...we just go and watch the parades. The cost for the grand stand for the hotel is 55 per person but they empahsised standing room only which I guess means you can't sit. That's no probem as long as it is a riser type thing.

If your interested in that...I'm sure I can get you passes to that. We will hopefully be in the room friday around 6:00. I'll pm my cell phone to you as we get closer.

I no I dnot post here a lot but a couple of my friends and I are goign to New Orleans, we booked a flight and hotel but dont no anythign else about New Orleans, is there anything you guys can help us out with

were flying into Atlanta thursday night and then driving to New Orleans through thr night, our hotel is downtown somewhere they say its right off of Burbon St and you can walk to where we have to be, is that true?

For anyone attending the New Orleans Event, that is a resident of Louisiana or Mississippi, here is a cool contest to enter. I wish I could enter but I'm not a resident of either of those two states. :( :gloomy: I would of loved to have breakfast with Greg.

Any ideas on what to take to get signed. I was considering wearing a t-shirt of some sort and letting whoever I could get sign it. Is this stupid? or Ok? (remember girls...i'm not a teenager)

No a t-shirt is good to get signed. They possibly may have pictures there they could be handing out and you could get those signed. Another idea is taking index cards and having each one sign those then you can put the picture that you take of them or with them ;) and put it in a scrapbook. (Yes I'm a scrapbook freak) :) I usually keep cards in my bag when I go see someone and if I don't have anything for them to sign I have them sign them.

BTW - on the T-shirt....I wore one to SSW and had Forbes March (Nash-OLTL) sign it and I'm not a teenager either. ;)

Do u have any idea what clubs Greg adn the guys would be at??? Or where they are staying while they are there, you guys seem very knowledgeable and I have no clue what i am doign in New Orleans...lol

Glad to know I'm not a big freak when it comes to the t-shirt thing. I'm so bad with keeping up with paper....love scrapbooking...but never actually completed any projects. LOL

I have no idea about where they are going, but during Mardi Gras most people do the parades and the french quarter. The french quarter at night is def. not a kid experience...so if you have any with ya...I wouldn't take them to the quarter.

I've never been down there during Mardi Gras...but for the most part when I've been partying there....we just head to Burbon Street and hit the bars. The House of Blues is a place where a lot of people love to hang...Not sure if they have opened back up...but I'm pretty positive they have. It's sad...but...I don't remember too much from my New Orleans experiences...can't imagine why...LOL.
Usually we just walk from bar to bar...then head back to the hotel.

Jimmy Buffet's Margaritaville is another place I love. It is more of a restaurant...but at night they usually have a band and it turns into a drinking spot. It is over by the French Market...so..I'm not sure about the walk at night from Burbon Street there. We walk it all the time in the day....but always think about safety there. The French Market is not to far from Jackson square where the event is taking place on Sat....and is a fun place to walk around.

You all will have a blast! For the most part everything is in a very small area. There are balconies where people can rent space and party. Sometimes the stars rent these....but would have no idea who will be where.

Most of the parades are outside of the quarter, but within walking distance.

What time are you all planning on getting to Jackson Square? I hope I see you!

Im staying at The Comfort Inn Suites Downtown i think, they say you can walk to Burbon St but we have a car incase we cant.

I think Im going to take your advice and bar hop a bit and try to go to those places that you mentioned.

I think I am going to get to the place where the FITS is real early cause from my expierience from going to other FITS people get there real early and they get real busy there. So i think i am going to get there around 9ish!!

There are 3 of us going and we dont no anything about New Orleans so hopefully we will find our way around...lol

I think were going to try to go to the parade too but can you watch from thr Street????

Tereasa, I am not going to the parade after all because we are not able to leave until early Saturday morning. We should arrive in New Orleans around 8 a.m. We are going to go eat breakfast and then head towards Jackson Square. I want to be there by 9 a.m. or so. I plan to watch the parade here at home through a Live Webcast.

For autographs, I ordered 8x10 pics of Greg, Ted, and Kelly from ebay. I wanted color pics for them to sign.


JaSamNow, the children's hospital event is private. I think the hotel the soap stars are staying at is the Hotel Montelone.

It's no big deal you missing the parade....They may even be wearing masks...you never know. We were going to try to go out to a nice restaurant that night either before or after...but I don't feel like packing dress clothes..so we are going to eat at the restaurant at the hotel. It is called the Red Fish Grill or something like that...the menu looks pretty good.

We need to figure out some way of Id'ing each other.

I have a SOD that Tyler signed and it has Liz/Lucky on the cover...I'm gonna take that and try to get them to sign. Kelly is in it also. Don't know what I'm gonna do about Ted King yet.

I've met Greg before...but only saw him in passing. It was so quick...don't know if it actually counts. It was like a brief introduction...more of a hi...how are you doing type thing. We shook hands and did a brief hug thing. He is so good looking though. He looked me right in the eyes and that meant so much...he seemed very sincere and just perfect. He seems like the type of person it is easy to be comfortable around. I hope I can get some pictures with him this weekend.

BTW...your pics are awesome. You got big hugs.
