Title: Supporting Greg - a note from Debby O re: rumors
Description: turning negatives into positives

songbirdie - August 15, 2006 05:41 PM (GMT)
In the letter we recieved with Rick's fan club yesterday there was a statement from Debby O regarding the contract rumors. It is our practice here to not entertain or discuss rumors, so when ever the rumor was posted on this board it was immediately deleted in accordance with board posting guidelines. Unless something comes from Debby or Greg -- it is untrue. That is our stance. So since this came from Debby I am posting this to put the rumor to rest once and for all. Debby does ask us to do something POSITIVE to counteract the negative that is running rampant right now. So please do as she asks and take some steps to challenge the negativity today.

Thanks!

"I also wanted to address the recent rumors online that Rick, along with Greg Vaughan, Rebecca Herbst and Ted King, will be let go from the show in the Fall due to budget concerns. There is no truth to this to the best of our knowledge. It appears to be the agenda of some very bored people in an effort to disrupt the work that is going on with the show. All of these incredibly talented actors are involved in controversial story lines right now and need your support. And turning off your television is NOT the answer. We urge you to challenge these individuals on what and whom they claim to know instead of buying into their game and perpetuating the disruptions. If you truly love these actors and their characters, we encourage you to go to your favorite message boards and combat all of the negative with positive. It's always a lot easier to find fault. How about supporting their strengths, as there is a lot to write about there as well. You are incredibly smart and talented. I challenge you to go out and show them your strength in a strong, positive manner."

we had several posts that had been posted on our board but we deleted them immediately. There were several websites that were saying they had "inside info" which apparently is a crock.

That's a great letter ... thanks for sharing.

What I hate most about rumors is the speed in which a vague rumor is turned into "fact" by people on the Internet who assume everything they read, no matter the source, is true. Makes me want to :frypan:

I'm not necessarily talking about Greg -- this happens with all the actors, and it is so annoying.

This came from Debby O in an email today...

I've been quiet about this all along, since I truly felt it was a rumor too silly to be believed by any of you to begin with, but still it persists. So let me say this, once and for all .... Jonathan Jackson was not coming back to replace Greg in the role of Lucky Spencer. He never was. Greg is beloved by the management of General Hospital, which is why he is always among the first to be asked to represent them at ABC events such as Fun In The Sun or Super Soap Weekend. But there just seems to be a faction of folks who are not happy unless rumors are circulating and, with Greg's contract coming up soon, you can expect even more rumors to begin circulating. Go figure ... but once again, we are all smarter than that, so please do not get drawn into the drama.
