Well it is getting to be that time of year again to start working on the gift we will give Greg at his FCW event. Wasn't sure how we could top the scrapbook from last year and the shot glasses from this year but the idea for next year is going a little different route. I have to thank Michelle B. for this idea because I got it from a gift they gave to Chad Brannon and his event one year. ;)

This will be long so bear with me...

In the past we have given things to Greg that have been strickly for him which is how it should be but this one has a different twist -- a scrapbook about "Greg's Angels." Thought it would be nice to have a book just about us and this way Greg could get to know his Angels better. Some of us he doesn't get to meet so this is a way he can know a little more about us and maybe find out something about the one he does know. :P

The scrapbook will be an 8x8 book and everyone that contributes will have their own page. I will put the scrapbook together but if you would like to do your own page please email or pm me and we can discuss that further. The pages will be in order by Angel number. This page will consist of the following:

1) Answers to the Questions that are listed below: (Just copy these in an email and put the answers out to the side or underneath)

Full Name
Where are you from?
Favorite childhood moment.
Favorite TV show and movie.
Favorite Holiday.
Hobbies.
Proudest moment so far in your life?
Favorite Actor/Actress.
Most prized possession.
One word that describes you best.
Who influenced you the most in your life?

Please try to keep the "Tv show/movie/actress and actor' down to no more than 2. I'm limited on space and don't want it to look smushed. Also, you are welcome to include a message to Greg but PLEASE keep it short.

2) A photo of you with Greg or if you haven't met Greg you can include one of yourself. These photos do not need to be bigger than a 4x6 and actually a 3 1/2 x 5 picture would be best. (**Photos are optional but it would really add to it if you would include one)

3) (Optional) If you want you can include a short note to Greg and by short I mean no more that a paragraph. There is only so much room on this page and it doesn't need to be crammed together.

These are the 3 main items of each page. The last item is something kinda of fun. When Michelle was telling me about their book they also included an item that 'traveled' around from different states and the ones that particpated in the book took their picture with it and signed it. Couldn't really come up with something that could 'travel' so Birdie had a thought and we are going with it.

Since we are "Greg's Angel's", it makes sense to have an Angel on each page of the book. What I want you guys to do is print out this Angel...

This needs to be no bigger than 3 1/2 x 5 or I won't be able to fit everything on the page. Once you print it out if you would write your Angel number on the dress and then sign your name to it and where you are from. After you do this then mail it to me so I can include it on your page. The other items, questions and photos can be emailed to be at shelley@ricebelt.net or iluvlucky2@hotmail.com. The deadline to have your entries in to me no later than May 10th, 2007. This will give me enough time to put the book together before I leave for FCW.

I really think this will be a neat idea and Greg will really love it. I know this was a long post but there really wasn't anyway for me to shrink it down. :blink: If you have any questions just let me know. Everyone is invited to particpate but if you are not an Angel please sign up for one. We would love to have 100% participation in this if possible. :)

The other part of Greg's gift will be the donation we make to Autism Awareness.

The last page of the book will be a map that will show where everyone is from. I don't think Greg realizes that because of him friendships have been made from all over the country. :) Thanks everyone - we couldn't do this without you and your support of GVB and mostly of Greg. :wub:

Quick question, when you say one page, you mean just that one page right? When I scrapbook I normally do it in pairs--so the 2 pages sitting next to each other, so they match, and that way more information can be added, since thats a lot of Angel info to be added to one page, but then again, duh pick and choose the questions and what not.

Just wondering so I can start to figure out how I want to design my page. Thanks. I may just have answered my own question.

Jenna ~ It is just one page NOT a spread. If you design your own just do one 8x8 page and that is it - no exceptions. (sorry about being so strick on this but it needs to all be the same) If I did a spread for each person the book could be over 200 pages and that is too much. All the questions need to be answered - please don't pick and choose. I want all the pages to be the same except for the design of them. Everything can be fit on one 8x8 page. You just have to play with the font, etc. It can be done because I have played with one for myself. You just have to keep the specifications that I posted in the orignial post.

If you can't make everything fit then send it to me and I can do it.

Thanks. I'll see what I can do. Yep, I would of course do an 8x8 page otherwise it wouldn't fit into the book :lol: I'll play with font size later, and going to think of my color scheme, and design layout...Oooh this is gonna be fun. :clap:

That is why I wanted to do this - so those of you that aren't able to come to FCW can be a part of something special for Greg. :)

Sounds great but it is 8 x 8 girl - not 8x10.. You do that size and it won't fit in the book. :P

You can do some really cute and funky stuff on 8x8 pages, Kim. Don't let it discourage you.

As long as the page is 8x8 and has everything on there - you guys can make your own. Just make sure you write your Angel number on the Angel that you print out. :)

I don't think I will do my page but I have some really cute stuff that can go on there... I may send you all the stuff for it Shell and let you make the magic happen. hehee

Glued on the page. Where ever you can fit it Maybe one of the bottom corners. :)

awwww Ally! I can't believe we won't get to see you at FCW. No run to Jerrys to harass the wait staff. Something not right about that. (Will have to make up for it in NYC. lol)

Now that the holidays are over need to think about this project. I started working on my page last night and realized a couple of things. One is the picture will have to be SMALLER than a 4x6 to fit on the page. For those of you that are sending in your stuff to me, if you could email me your picture that would be great. This way I can crop it to where it will fit just right on the page. :) If you can't email it and will snail mail it - I will figure it out.
