Title: Online Baby Shower for Greg & Touriya
Description: Starting March 1 - March 20
iluvlucky - December 23, 2006 03:17 PM (GMT)
:wavey: everyone! With the news that Greg and Touriya are expecting, Chris and I have been thinking what we - "Greg's Angels" could do as a group and this is what we have come up with.
Starting March 1 through March 20th, lets flood the studio witih baby gifts for Greg and Touriya by us having an "online baby shower" for them. Since of course we can't give them one personally this can be the next best thing for us to contribute. We all love Greg and are so happy for him - this is just a way we can show him how much we support him and are thrilled over the news.
Here are the details:
Everyone loves to shop for baby stuff, I know I do, and with the holidays ending there might be some good deals out there. We won't post a list as to what to send it is basically whatever you want to send. The only thing I ask is once you get the items if you could post them here. This way everyone will know what each other is sending and won't send alot of the same items. Make sense? Whether it be blankets, hooded towels, wash cloths, socks, onezies(sp?) to stuffed animals - we can all see what we are sending in. You are welcome to post pictures or just list them.
The 'online baby shower' will start March 1st and continue through March 20th. During this time Greg will be getting gifts galore from all of his Angels. I can just picture the look on his face when he gets all of these. We all know how much he apprieciated what we did for him these past few months with the gifts we sent to the studios - I know he will love this more as it will be for the baby.
We have an idea of what we may could give to Greg at FCW in honor of the baby from all of us but will post more about that when the details are clearer. Right now we are focusing on the Baby shower....
By posting this now, we can start to gather up all the cute baby stuff. Hope you guys are in with us on this. We think it will be alot of fun. :) You all have come through for us in the past and we have faith you will do it with us again. :)

Oh great idea. I call dibs on NYC baby clothes. :)
songbirdie - December 23, 2006 04:42 PM (GMT)
One thought to add though... if you pick up baby clothing -- shoot for sizes bigger than infant sizes. Babies hardly ever get to wear all the infant stuff they get at showers. Sizes 6-24 months would be more practical. Would love to see a good collection of the baby einstein products in the mix. AND if someone would like to go in together on something like a baby monitor -- I would love to do that. :)

I always buy the bigger stuff anyways. I would rather they grow into and wear it then NOT wear it at all. Snickers I am going to even get a NYC Yankees bib. I am sure the baby will be a Yankees fan. :)

I do that too! GMTA! I have had several friends grumble about tons of baby clothes but then the kiddo gets to be 6 or 8 months old and there isn't much left they can actually use.
I am sure Greg will make sure the little squirt is taught to be a Yankees fan from day one. Wish we knew if it was a boy or a girl. heehee
Roxanne - December 23, 2006 05:15 PM (GMT)
Great idea ladies. I love shopping for babies. :D
LuckyStarBabe - December 23, 2006 07:11 PM (GMT)
That's a great idea, Shel! I love shopping for baby items. I know Greg is gonna be pleased with everything for the baby. Especially getting clothes that I know he/she will wear for a long, long time. I already have a few things in mind that the baby will love. Greg's a lucky guy! You have my word on that!

Aww great idea. I LOVE baby shopping. I too wish we knew if they were having a boy or a girl (would make shopping a tad easier) but there are some really adorable unisex stuff.

Wonderful idea, ladies! I am so in. I love shopping for baby clothes. Well, actually, shopping period. Hee!
Thanks for thinking of this for us to do for Greg and Touriya. :)
SURFERD25 - December 27, 2006 08:25 PM (GMT)
I'm very much IN! In fact I was just shopping with my sister today and we passed by the baby clothes isle for my sister's -- sister in law. We found out on Christmas she's having a boy so we both went nuts in Nordstroms.
Blondiegrrl - December 28, 2006 02:14 AM (GMT)
I'll see what I can come up with. :)
Jenna - December 28, 2006 10:14 PM (GMT)
Kohls is having a 50% off sale--must go back :)
Congrats to your sister SURFERD

So I went shopping yesterday, there are a LOT of cute baby things out...I got all confused, so I decided I better wait to see if someone can get out of him if the new bundle of joy is a boy or girl.
songbirdie - January 1, 2007 02:20 AM (GMT)
I am going totally gender generic and going with one of the Baby Einstein products. I really like the interactive reader that works as young as 6 months. My neice loved that stuff.
songbirdie - January 31, 2007 02:01 AM (GMT)
Ok kids!
I asked Greg on Sunday about baby stuff. This is what I told him:
"You KNOW we have something up our sleeve for you" and he says "I am sure you DO!" (He knows us so well! lol) then I continue: "and I know you don't want to spill the beans about the baby gender -- but we don't want to send stuff that will clash. Can you give us a hint about colors?" He then said that any color will do. And I told him that if we sent pastel green and yellow and he was doing mickey mouse with black and red, it would totally not work. He told me then that red, blue, white or brown would work best. Not bright red and blues but more earth tones cause that was what he liked. He said the baby would learn to love it. lol
So, for the online baby shower, the color scheme is blue, red and brown. We are getting closer to the launch date so start lining up your goodies to send in. It would be great to send them through out the time period so he is getting stuff all through the month of March. I know I will probably send my things in 2 or 3 increments so he is getting stuff periodically.
Hope that makes sense. :)
GVLover0615 - January 31, 2007 02:09 AM (GMT)
Thanks for the update! I will be thinking about what to send!! :P
Jenna - January 31, 2007 02:34 AM (GMT)
By color scheme being earth tones, I have a feeling its a boy.
Parents, from my experiance, who don't know tend to stick with greens and yellows.

Yeah, from something else he said I got that impression too. But don't ask me what it was. :zip:

Jenna - February 5, 2007 03:12 AM (GMT)
so bummed, I went out in negative 5 degree weather (plus negative 25 wind shields) to Toys R Us to get a book I really wanted to get for Greg...And they didn't have it...I'll have to keep checking back.
KimAshton - February 5, 2007 12:29 PM (GMT)
I will get the blue Yankees outfit. :)
Since the Yankees colors are blue and white it can work for either sex. :)
NikNak - February 5, 2007 08:37 PM (GMT)
I love earth tones. :)
This is gonna be fun, I can tell. Hee!
SURFERD25 - February 5, 2007 09:24 PM (GMT)
Well with two people, my sister and my sister's sister-in-law(makesense?) pregnant, I'll be definitely doing a lot of shopping this year. My sister (who found out TODAY) is due in Oct. and my sister's sister in law is due in June. They're both going with those colors and having boys...so hmmm...could be a boy for Greg and Touriya. But hey - as long as they're healthy, that's all that matters..
EEEE - I'm gonna be an Auntie.
Anyway - I'll be doing a lot of shopping this month and months to come, so I'll post what I get for Greg.
Take care
D
songbirdie - February 7, 2007 07:09 AM (GMT)
congrats Deanna! You are gonna have fun!
I have found some things online, but I haven't started ordering yet. Will have to do that soon. :) (wonder how the baby would look in a "team Greg" one-sy. lol)
yankeegirl - February 7, 2007 10:36 AM (GMT)
My gifts are ready and waiting to go on the week of March 1st. to LAX. This kiddo will be the best dressed "yankee girl/boy" in LAX. Also, with the granddaughters of Babe Ruth coming to NY next weekend the child is going to have a nice assortment of things they have made. This event of Greg's should be very interesting cant wait to see everybody. :woohoo:
