Title: Follower Stuffs

I think it would be nice to be able to do more with your followers...

like be able to heal them (which would be nice 'cause only priestess can as yet)

be able to equip items on them

have them heal more at temples as they level up (sux to have an elite fighter only heal 10 at a time...)

What do you guys think?

Grash - June 30, 2007 03:38 AM (GMT)
The HEALER can heal them too. :P

I agree that 10 HP per turn is kinda low for high-HP followers.

like oathmen.

Followers have been discussed many times in the in-game forums. They are basically meant as a "help" for beginning heros, i.e. heros < 7 level. After that, you're supposed to hoof it alone. There aren't any plans to make followers better at the moment.

Maybe they could become more powerful as you become more powerful? Or offer support abilities?

They do up to a point, but ultimately it's up to the hero to be heroic.
It's OK to have a sidekick, but it shouldn't be a major factor in your hero's success.

Did Adam West ever really need a "powerful" Burt Ward?
Did Cesar Romero or Burgess Meredith terrorize Gotham because they had "powerful" followers?

Nope, for the most part, followers are just filler.
If you want to have a little fun with them, that's great.
Just don't have the expectation that they should be the star of the show.

A sidekick is better than a few useless people combined.

The Dwarven Cleric, now THAT'S a proper sidekick.

What about special skills that can only be used when having a certain fellower in service? Not all classes should have such skills, but maybe some, for fun:

Priestess: Ritual of Death: sacrifices in times of need one fellower to regain half of her HP.
Healer: Clean of the Sin of Killing: a Healer gets extra exp and gold of defeating an enemy when her fellower deals the final attack.

I'm in a non-important-posts-posting mood today, don't pay much attention to it. :P

Don't worry, we never pay much attention to you.

You realize that Priestesses would become near invincible?

Sir Keleton - July 2, 2007 06:34 PM (GMT)
Why would that be a bad thing, grash? :mischief:

IMO the Dwarven Cleric is much better than Brut Ward was at his best.

A "proper" sidekick should be about as annoying as it is useful.

If your sidekick is too anoying, then it's time for a change in the show's format.

"I'm sorry Burt, but the latest Nielsen ratings suggest we need to get rid of your character..."

Grash - July 2, 2007 07:03 PM (GMT)
Well, you can put "your" lines back in, that's annoying enough. :P

Or you could make the Dwarven Cleric wear Robin's costume. That'd make anyone grumpy.
