These are the rules that I expect you to all abide by, I don't have very 'picky' rules, so I don't really see the problem. And if anyone does see the problem, feel free to post it in the 'Commentory Box'

:.Speaking of Character Design.:
(I) There will be no 'mary sues' on this site. If you create a character that is one of these, the comment on approval will include what is wrong, and a suggestion as to how to fix it. Once you fix the character, if it is no longer a mary sue, we will gladly approve it.
(II) The colors of the character (Such as fur color, hair color, etc) is up to you. If there is only a certain range of colors that the Race is able to be, there will be a note in the Race's profile.
(III) The character profile that you put up should go by the form that is posted in the 'Inhabitants of Lavation' board. If you do not go by this form, then a note will be made asking you to edit the description. Once you fix the profile we will gladly approve you.
(IV) Please do not begin roleplaying before you're character is approved. I check this board daily, so it won't take very long for that to happen, I assure you.
Please Note: Your Username should most preferably be named after your main character. The identity of your main character is up to you. If you want to have more than one character on each account, thats fine. But please realize that the rank of your account will mirror the position held by the character the account is named after. Thank you.
(If at any point in time you wish to change your username to the name of a different character, simply ask Destiny or Fate to do so, and your name and rank will be changed accordingly.)
:.Speaking of Roleplaying.:
Note: There isn't an ever-present rule going on in the way of timezone's for roleplays. This means that if you join one roleplay, and a day or so later see another roleplay you'd like to join - feel free to. Its not considered 'being in two places at once' because the two events/roleplays can be happening at different times.
(I) Writer's block is known and feared, but please keep you're posts more than a sentance or two long. At the very least, one paragraph. If you feel that you're suffering writer's block and the post seems utterly short, simply state so and we will understand.
(II) Violence is allowed. But what is not allowed is violence that happens along the lines of 'moding' and/or 'godmoding'. Also known as 'autohitting'. This is when a person attacks a character in such a way that the character being attacked would have no way of dodging or countering. This isn't acceptable. The best way to prevent this is to change things such as this: He stabbed the Kirone through the skull, killing him instantly.: To things such as this: He lunged forward with his sword aimed at the Kirone's skull, attempting to thrust it through in hopes of killing the Kirone.: The underlined words are the key to giving said Kirone a chance to dodge or counter.
(III) Killing of a character is permitted. If the character in question is your own, then feel free to kill them off without warning. However, if the character in question belongs to another Roleplayer, then permission of said Roleplayer must be given before said character is killed. Such permission can be asked for through Private messages, OOC brackets, or other such means of communication. (If said Roleplayer has stated previously that said character has been marked for death, this may be bipassed. But that is the only acception.)
(IV) Swearing and other such terms of 'cursing' are permitted. If a character goes on a curse string at your character, it should not be taken personally. Character to Character contact is simply that, and has nothing to do with the Roleplayers controlling the character. However, if a roleplayer is particularly sensitive to such words used and they request that such words be refrained from use, it would be most respectful to discontinue the use of curse words or the like.
:.Speaking of Out Of Character-ing.:
(I) Please respect one another. Cursing and such may be used sparingly, but preferably not directly at another. Fighting and such should be taken to Private Messages, or other such means of private communication. If said fight is over something that one's character did to another, then the fight should really not have happened.
(II) If there is a problem with another Roleplayer, an Admin, a Moderator, or anything else that cannot necisarilly be solved by a one-on-one conversation, please contact me (Destiny), or the other main admin (Fate) to help sort these things out.
:.Speaking of Activity.:
I do not ask much of this. But there are a few things I would like to happen.
(I) If you are going to be gone for an extended period of time, please make a post of notice on the (M)issing (I)n (A)ction board. This is so we know that you have not deserted us.
(II) I will not normally do Activity sweeps, as I do not see the point of them. HOWEVER! If the site goes into such a drop in activity that no posting is going on, I will do one. There will be a group mail sent out with a notice of these such sweeps.
(III) This rule is the most important of all. There will be periodic updates and such every so often on what is happening in Lavation. However, there seems to be a problem with people not recieving the emails because of privacy filters. To prevent this from happening, I ask you to put the e-mail adress enjuku_okami@yahoo.com onto your safe list. Thank you. |
