Title: Watching...
Description: ((Open to who-ever :) ))
Aurora - April 29, 2006 01:08 AM (GMT)
Aurora walked from the trees into the opening on to the sand of the beach. She looked out at what streched out before her. Taking in a deep breath of the fresh salty air. She gracefully walked to the shoreline and sat a few feet before it.
Looking around her she saw nothing but sand and water. Although water was in her blood she did feel weird being far from trees and greenery.
Prince Corin - May 3, 2006 05:01 AM (GMT)
Corin gazed out at the sea with his blue eyes that matched it's depths, watching the ripples almost curiously. When you live in Archenland and never get a chance to leave it, you don't see much of the open sea... and believe it or not the King did not take his son on many vacations during his childhood, having a country to run and all. Corin really had no idea how he'd wandered here, but he wasn't one to follow rules and stay where he was supposed to; now he was almost entranced by this water.
After what must have been a few minutes, Corin noticed he was not alone on this beach. A young dryad sat, much closer to the sea than he stood. Not wanting to interrupt whatever her thoughts were Corin did not go over, but stayed where he was watching not only the sea but the dryad girl with not much else to do.
OOC: I saw nobody posted in here yet and I want to join something...
Aurora - May 3, 2006 06:48 AM (GMT)
Aurora smiled, she was not alone anymore. Turning she saw a man standing behind her. " Hello, Prince Corin. Iam Aurora of the Dryads." she said in a melodius voice. She motined her hand for him to come and sit by her.
Prince Corin - May 4, 2006 03:19 AM (GMT)
Corin smiled a little at her voice, he was always amazed at the effect of a dryad's voice when he got the chance to speak to one, every word like a beautiful song telling of calming, natural places. He nodded to acknowledge her presence and walked over to her. "Hello, Aurora of the Dryads, it's nice to meet you. You seem to already know me, so no point in introducing myself, I guess." He spoke back, sitting next to her as she gestured for him to. He glanced back out at the sea, seeing how vast it appeared when you sat right at its shores and admiring it.
Aurora - May 8, 2006 01:38 PM (GMT)
Aurora looked over at Prince Corin, " What brings you you the sea, Prince Corin?" she asked with a smile.
Prince Corin - May 9, 2006 04:00 AM (GMT)
Thinking for a moment and not coming up with much, Corin shrugged his shoulders. "I don't know...I just felt drawn here, for some odd reason...I've never seen the sea," Corin spoke as an answer, not feeling stupid for this but only wondering why he'd never come here before. He realized his answer may have sounded weird and he glanced at her, trying to see if she thought so too. He didn't get his chance to see what she thought, as the ocean wind carried his blonde bangs into his face and made him blink alot while he pushed the hair away.
Aurora - May 9, 2006 02:37 PM (GMT)
Aurora watched as the wind carry his blonde hair across his face. She smiled and then looked out over the waters. " The waters are restless, cause of the wind." She looked back at him, " I must confess as well, I've never seen an ocean as well." she said blushing a bit.
Prince Corin - May 10, 2006 09:05 PM (GMT)
"Then I guess we both have been missing out. " Corin said, staring at the endless blue waves of water. He picked a seashell up from the sand next to him, observing it curiously. These he hadn't seen up close either...though he had seen seashells used as jewelry before. Right when he was turning it over, the "seashell" opened and squirted him in the face with salty water, causing him to drop it immediately and wipe the salt out of his eyes, looking kind of surprised for a second.
OOC: *aims gun into my ear so it will shoot the writer's block jammed in my brain* O_O...
Aurora - May 23, 2006 02:53 PM (GMT)
Aurora giggled to herself and then asked, " Are you ok?"
(( It's ok sorry about not responding faster. :) ))
Prince Corin - May 23, 2006 10:52 PM (GMT)
Corin blushed a little at his ignorance of this "seashell", which he now knew to be some kind of clam, and nodded. "I'm fine." He laughed a little at himself, hearing both his father or brother scolding him in his head. They'd be saying something along the lines of 'that's what happens when you don't listen in certain classes' or mix it in with his lack of obediance, someway or another, even with just a little thing.
Aurora - May 26, 2006 06:12 AM (GMT)
Aurora looked at Prince Corin, she didn't want to embarress him. She smiled, " I wonder what the water feels like?"
Prince Corin - May 27, 2006 03:18 AM (GMT)
"Painful..." Corin mumbled with dull sarcasm quietly under his breath, still blinking salt out of his eyes. He thought curiously and watched the waves roll up to the beach simply to fall back again. He did wonder what it felt like...probably wet, like other water, but the sea just looked different. It appeared rough yet liquidy...strange stuff.
Aurora - May 27, 2006 05:35 AM (GMT)
Aurora looked at the Prince, " Open your hands." As he did she made water appear in his hand. " Wash your eyes with that." She smiled softly, " That should help."
Prince Corin - May 27, 2006 02:39 PM (GMT)
Corin opened his hands as he was told and looked somewhat amazed at the water that was there suddenly. He nodded and quickly cleaned the burning salt out of his eyes before giving her a smile in return. "Thank you..." He spoke sincerely, any sarcasm that was in his voice before now long gone.
Aurora - May 31, 2006 04:19 AM (GMT)
Aurora smiled, " Your welcome." She looked out at the ocean then back at Prince Corin, " Tell me about your land?" she said cheerfully. SH ewas glad he was warming up to her, for she had no friends.
Prince Corin - May 31, 2006 09:30 PM (GMT)
"My land..." Corin repeated, thinking about home for what wasn't the first time in awhile. If he closed his eyes, he could almost pretend he was there. "Archenland...it's a beautiful place really. Not much compared to Narnia, but it still has it's good parts. Amazing fields around Castle Anvard, especially during summer...the people there are just as amazing. It's so fun just talking to people in the towns, especially when they don't know who I am." Corin started, remnicising on conversations he'd had.
"I haven't been home in awhile though...this war has made sure of that." He spoke, sighing and opening his eyes to the view of a blue sea instead of the green land he'd been thinking of. "Hmm...how are things like in your life here in Narnia?" He questioned, looking over at Aurora curiously.
Aurora - June 8, 2006 06:03 AM (GMT)
Aurora's smile faded and turned into a frown. " It is wonderful, except Iam alone half the time." she said saddly" I really dont like to be alone, for being in a large forest by oneself can be scary."
She turned and smiled at him, " What is a Prince doing outside his kingdom? If you dont mind me asking?"
(( Sorry It took me so long I wasnt sure If I was going to stay on this site. But I am ;) ))
Prince Corin - June 8, 2006 11:52 PM (GMT)
Corin watched her while she spoke, seeing her frown and sensing her loneliness. He waited a second after the question and sighed a bit. "Well.... I'm more or less leading Archenland's little part in Narnia's war. I know they are more than capable of getting along without me for a little while, so I came here...I really can't go back to the castle at home until things are settled down here in Narnia," Corin explained somewhat shortly. He didn't want to think of war right now...
"So...you're alone here? That doesn't seem right..." Corin spoke thinking back to what she'd said, squinting a little and looking off. Someone as nice as her shouldn't be living in a forest alone all the time, especially if it scared her as she said...
OOC: Why were you considering leaving? :( .....
Aurora - June 9, 2006 05:50 AM (GMT)
Aurora saw the pain and exhuagstian in his eyes from the thought of war. She thought it best not to further taling about it.
She nodded at his question, " Yes I am alone, at least in these parts. In all of the woods of Narnia there is only one other dryad and there is a dryad protector. But both are scares." She smiled slightly, " So I traveled to see if I can help Narnia in anyway. But it seems a Dryad isnt much use in battle, only in helping the forest." Shrugging her shouulders a bit she gazed at the rythm of the waves. "But here I am."
(( Cause it seemed no one was really posting so I thought to stop myself, but now your replying to my post. hehe. Thanks ))
Prince Corin - June 11, 2006 06:29 PM (GMT)
"I always figured there were more dryads..." Corin said, thinking. He hadn't really met many at all when he thought about it, but he'd figured they just didn't want to be found so easily. Corin shrugged to himself and looked back at her. "Helping in the forest is still important. The forests and the creatures in them are what the battles are mostly trying to protect, anyways..." With a slight sigh, Corin stopped talking and looked off, watching a little crab crawling in and out of the sand with slight amusement.
OOC: No one IS really posting, are they?...hmm....everyone who used to post, it seems, don't even check anymore...graa....they should come back.
Vinyl - June 20, 2006 11:28 PM (GMT)
"I am alone.."
"...are mostly trying to protect..."
Pieces and snipets of a much longer conversation. Vinyl had been listening to the words exchanged between the pair, a member of his kin, and a Prince of Archenland. An unusual sight to see the two conversing amongst each other.
Vinyl had found seclusion in the waters that were his home, but he foresaw the Dryad coming near. Acting more on instinct rather than logic, Vinyl melted himself into the sea so that he couldn't be seen.
Still, even though he had hidden away, he still lingered because he believed that an interesting oppurtunity would arise. It came, as it always did.
Having had enough of eavesdropping, Vinyl decided to make himself seen, despite the feelings of shyness tugging at his insides. A pillar of water rose steadily from the sea, and slowly pieces of it fell off until the shape of a man was formed. Completly composed of water, his face was detailed perfectly, it even seemed possible to count the number hairs in his eyebrows.
Realizing he just made what could be termed a 'dazzling appearance' by some, he bowed at the hip before the two.
"Greetings fellow dweller of nature..." his voiced was very weak, almost like an echo. Like the sound of clear drops of rain breaking the surface of a cool clear lake. He was referring to Aurora. "...we reign in different realms, but I assure you we are more alike than different." His water eye then darted towards Prince Corin. "...and to you majesty..." He bowed his head in respect. "...you are aways from your duties, are you not?"
OOC: So yea, btw, I tend to post moderately long :)
Aurora - June 21, 2006 05:57 AM (GMT)
Aurore was taken back as a pillar of water arose out of the water and in frotn of the in the shape of a man. Knowing immediatly what he was she smiled. " Hello Naiad. I hope we are not intruding. We merely saught out the relaxation of your waters." she looked to Prince Corin then back at the Naiad. She smiled softly and stood up gracefully and walked a bit closer to him. " I'am Aurora of the forest and rivers of Narnia." she observed his watery face and smiled, " May we have the prevaliage of your name Naiad?"she asked in her melodious voice.
(( No that's totally cool. I love long replies. :) ))
Prince Corin - June 21, 2006 07:12 AM (GMT)
Corin watched the pillar of water shoot into the air in front of them and become human-like with slight awe at the performance. Although he hadn't seen a Naiad, he knew enough to know this was one before Aurora had spoken it. He stayed quiet as the Naiad began to speak to Aurora, then realized he himself was being spoken to hearing 'your majesty'. Corin made a face at the title, then was proposed the thought that he was away from his duties. Corin decided not to reply for now at least, as Aurora was speaking to the Naiad.
Watching them from his spot, Corin wondered how different it was for him, someone from Archenland who normally would not meet many creatures such as these, to be watching two talking right in front of him...Hearing Aurora finish, Corin remained silent and waited for the Naiad's reply.
OOC: Peeeooople....*poke*....O_O...
Vinyl - June 21, 2006 06:55 PM (GMT)
The man made entirely of water, nodded at Aurora, standing an inch or so taller than her. He responded her question;
"I am Vinyl of the Naiads, the only male in existence." He smiled at her, and turned to look unto the Prince. Sensing his thoughts, he addressed them.
"You are indeed, very priveleged to witness such sentient beings of creation. As you already know..." Vinyl approached the waters edge, but stopped just as his next step would have been on dry soil. His being forbade him to be apart from any body of water. "... Dryads are very rare indeed. Naiad's however, are more numourous in number than our forest-living cousins, but you'd never know it. My people reside on the ocean's floor, that information alone is hardly enough if you wish to find them."
Realizing he had rambled a bit, Vinyl bowed his head in slight embarassment. This was not the time to play show off. He walked back to his original position beside Aurora.
"It is nice to see another just as close to the elements as I. Tell me cousin, how are you?" Vinyl's voice was soft and smooth. Calm... like the undisturbed sea as the first rays of morning sun grace its surface. Like the calm... before the storm.
Aurora - June 22, 2006 05:28 AM (GMT)
Aurora smiled slightly, " Well enough, but I fear that there are not many more out there like me."her voice faded. " I fear I am the last of the Dryads." she said her voice still melodious now with a bit of saddness in it. Looking out over the sea, then to Prince Corin. " We did not know you were out there. Or we would not have been so rude Vinyl. Forgive us." she said sweetly.
Vinyl - June 22, 2006 07:32 PM (GMT)
"Rude?" Vinyl answered with surprise. He laughed a little "I was subject to no such offense. Rest assured, you did not insult me indirectly in any way."
He then grew more sullen, his voice now had a slight tinge of seriousness. "I cannot say for certain whether you are indeed the sole Forest-Nymph left, though I understand your concern. Jadus's winter was not kind upon your kind."
His voice began to drift, as if carried by his thoughts to a much farther place. "...Winter was harsh against the Water-dwellers as well. I myself, amongst all the others, was trapped underneath the ice for the century of the White-Witch's reign."
After an exasperated sigh, the Naiad continued. "Some of us are still adjusting to life sharing our oceans with those who more commonly walk the land. A few disagree with sharing our home at all." He turned around to look out to the open sea. There was something deep within his water-formed eyes. Something hidden, something so deep it was like trying to see how deep the Ocean's floor was from the surface.
Quickly, he became cheery again. "But no matter about that, I mean to ask you..." he then turned to acknowledge Corin. "...and you, about the status the war. I apologize if I seem foolish in my lack of knowledge of current events. I just wish to be summarized on any relevant details."
Vinyl - June 26, 2006 11:42 PM (GMT)
OOC: Knock Knock... anyone there?
Prince Corin - June 27, 2006 01:10 AM (GMT)
OOC: No, not really. My brain is elsewhere and has been for awhile, sorry...which also explains the shortness of this post...
BIC:
Corin sighed a bit, listening to their conversing with eachother and feeling slight boredom creeping up on him as it usually did. When he realized he was being spoken to, he glanced back up at the Naiad, tilting his head as he listened. "The status of war...as of yet, things are quieting down as Narnia prepares for something new. The enemies have been quiet...though they have managed to gain control over places such as Lantern Waste and the Western Woods, sadly..." Corin summed up somewhat quickly, once again his thoughts directed to the war. He should be getting back to it soon...it would help so much if his brother were allowed to come. Better control over the Archenlanders here if their future kind was involved.
