The Toronto Police Service is requesting the public’s assistance with an attempted abduction investigation.

On Tuesday, January 15, 2008, at 5:20 p.m., police responded to an attempted abduction call in the parking lot of the Yorkgate Mall, in the Jane Street/Finch Avenue West area.

It is reported that:

- a man was attempting to lure a 12-year-old girl into a vehicle,

- three people intervened and the girl was able to escape.

The suspect is described as having a light-black complexion, approximately 6', average build, brown eyes, shaved head and a moustache. He was wearing a brown suit, blue dress shirt and white shoes.

The vehicle is described as a dirty, older-model, red or burgundy passenger van.

The Toronto Police Service would like to make the public aware of a potential sex offender in the Kingston Road/Galloway Road area. Similar incidents were reported on Thursday, January 10, 2008.

See previous release.

It is reported that:

- on Thursday, January 17, 2008, between 5 p.m. and 5:30 p.m., there were three separate incidents of 13-to-16-year-old girls being approached by a man,

- in each incident the man followed the girls on foot,

- he approached them from behind and initiated a conversation with them,

- while talking to the girls, he unzipped his pants and exposed himself,

- in each incident the girls ran to get help from nearby citizens and police were called.

The suspect is described as black, light-skinned, 20–30, 5’11”, medium build, round face, "chin strap" beard, and black twisted hair. He was wearing a red jacket, dark-grey pants and black running shoes.

Potential sex offender, Update, Further investigation reveals initial report unfounded, 43 Division

On Monday, January 21, 2008, the Toronto Police Service received information about a potential sex offender in the area of Morningside Avenue, south of Kingston Road.

It had been reported that:

- a man had attempted to lure a nine-year-old girl to his home to help him find his dog.

Due to the potential threat to public safety, police issued a news release to inform the public of the incident along with the suspect's description. Further investigation determined that the reported incident did not occur.

The Toronto Police Service wishes to thank the public for their assistance with the investigation.

The Toronto Police Service is seeking the public’s assistance identifying a man who has reportedly been exposing himself in the belt line area from Oriole Parkway to Mount Pleasant Road, including Lascelles Boulevard.

The man is described as white, 20-25, 5’8” – 5’10”, with a slim build.

The suspect has been exposing himself during various times of the day and evening.

Police want to encourage the public to be vigilant and report any incidents.
