Title: [C]Voices From The War
Description: Layne and Dani. Shogun. Closed.

Layne Messiah - August 24, 2008 06:07 PM (GMT)
Layne made his way to Shogun from Onderon it was not a great distance to go for anything. He had planned to speak with the former members of the united Mandalorian clans. They had been quiet so far on the galactic front. Shogun was quiet and improving itself with its own line of credits and was doing better then it ever did under the rule of Mandalore. He was flying in with his X-wing, opting to leave the bulky ships now being used by the Atra Luna at their home base. Layne was stepping inside what once was Mandalorian space for the second time since hearing about the splitting up of the clans.

It was like a marriage that had went south and into divorce. Except this was much more then some arguements, they had been crushed at Mandalore. They had lost the crown jewel of the Mandalorians. They had lost it in a poorly executed space battle with Fenn Rysha at the command of the fleets. He should have stuck to that damn basilisk of his. Layne thought to himself as he had moved inside of Shogun space.

As he came inside of Shogun territory he could see a docking station, that was never there before or on any type of maps for the planet. He was impressed as he touched his X-wing down inside of it and departed the fighter upon orders from the ground crew inside. After he exited in his black armor they began looking through old Mandalorian databases for a person that matched the armor description.

They found the information they needed, and asked Layne to remove his helmet for visual verification that he was indeed the person under the helmet. What is this security? The thought ran through his head and he became annoyed. After waiting for a few moments he put his helmet back on and was allowed to leave from his ship, but he did not leave without his weapons at his side.

Nothing was said to him as he boarded the only shuttle headed towards the surface of the planet. Apparently this place was currently being used for something along the line of immigrations and customs for the planet. He figured he would not be welcome with open arms so it was best for him to come armed. Yarto considered him to be a Phantom Lord, he would appear and then leave on his will and schedule.

It did seem like that but he was no phantom, he only appeared when he had something to say or something to offer. He very rarely asked for anything in return from his friends and allies. The shuttle moved closer to the surface with each second, the pilots making adjustments for the landing on the surface of Shogun. It would be different then his usual meetings, because rumor had it that the leaders on Shogun were women instead of the stereotypical male leader. Which could either work out to be a good thing or a bad thing for what he might offer them.

He held a sliver of hope that the women in charge of keeping the planet the way it was knew who he was. If they did it would make much easier for him to do things, since he could just skip straight to the plan and details of it. The great mandalorian power of old had fallen and was now being replaced by smaller powers who would eventually over time absorb one another and then they would move onto reforming a united Mandalorian way of life. But for that to begin they needed to get Mandalore back in their grasp and the majority of those who had split apart from those loyal to Rhysa.

Jate'kara - August 24, 2008 06:43 PM (GMT)
It had been surprising to hear that Layne Messiah had arrived at Shogun. If Shay remembered correctly, he had once again left the Mandalorians. Before the split of the Clans. So hearing that he was here, at Shogun, was a surprise. And, curious as well. Usually when someone arrived wishing to speak to them, both her and Charlydia went to greet whoever it was. Today though Charlydia was out doing training with the Shogun Warriors. Which left Shay to go by herself. Not that she minded.

As she rode the speeder to greet the shuttle, Shay distracted herself with speculations as to why Layne Messiah would have come to Shogun. Hopefully it was nothing bad. Like informing them that he heard one of the other clans was planning to attack Shogun. It was one thing that Shay worried about. The planet coming under attack. As she wanted this place to be one place where they did not have to worry about that. At least, not while Mandalore was still fresh on their minds.

The Clans being divided was something that Shay did not like, and wished would end. She had remained with the Mandalorians because they were her life. Seeing them divided, knowing some were fighting with each other, she hated. She had suggested to Charlydia before that they should see about trying to fix things. Bring the clans back together, and have a new Mandalore who was worthy of the title named. How they could go about that though, was unknown.

For now Shogun and her people would remain neutral. All those from any one of the clans that wished to avoid the fighting between the clans, were welcome to make home here. All clans were welcome to come and go as they please. However, if two feuding clans were at Shogun at the same time, they were to remain peaceful with each other. And so help those that didn't.

Shogun did not want to fight. However, they would deal with anyone who brought their wars to Shogun. It was a peaceful and neutral world, and its leaders planned to keep it that way.

Upon reaching the landing pad the vehicle that Shay was driving slowed to a stop. She stepped out, and then waited next to it. Dressed in plain everyday clothing. Beige pants, a off white shirt, and a pair of brown boots. Training was something Shay had not been doing today. And it had been a while since she had last seen Layne. Waiting, she continued to wonder what he had come here for. Although she supposed she would soon find out.

Layne Messiah - August 25, 2008 08:47 PM (GMT)
Layne could feel the shuttle hit the surface of the planet and he began to move towards the exit ramp for the ship which was being lowered slowly to the ground until it malfunctioned and became stuck. Layne not caring moved to the end of the ramp and jumped down to the ground, his hand absorbing some of the blow. A few moments later the ramp lowered all the way. Apparently, they had fixed the problem with it. Figures... Layne thought about the shuttle malfunction as he seen a speeder approaching, the other people had already begun moving to a market place type of area. So that meant the speeder was there for him.

Shogun has vast differences from the the other Mandalorian planets that Layne had visited in his life. It was his first trip to Shogun so it was a bit of culture shock. He was sure some of the changes came right after the split of the clans considering that a lot of things looked to be very new to his eyes. Shogun had almost a Coruscant type feel to it as he looked out to what he figured to be the capital of the planet. He removed his helmet and strapped it to his belt. He wore his armor, just because this was a Mandalorian planet did not mean they wouldn't shoot at him.

The speeder moved closer with every second and eventually came to a stop in front of him. Inside of the vehicle was Shay Lorria, once a medic in a united Mandalorian army she was now on Shogun. Shogun was certainly more peaceful then Gargon home of Clan Ura for the moment. Ura's planet was full of mayhem and refugees with out homes. Shogun seemed to have no refugees and a busy economy with new things being built and people buying things left and right as he looked to the market place near him.

He looked at Shay before he spoke and the properly introduced himself. "Layne Messiah, just incase you don't know my name or forgot. So I assume you are the person I am meeting with today? I want to start this meeting off while I view this city here. Do you mind that?" Layne questioned, not to be rude. He just wanted to see the rest of the city because he had never seen anything this good on any other mandalorian planet. Gargon had nothing like this. It was more of a military base planet.

Layne was not bringing bad news to the people of Shogun, he was bringing a diplomatic effort and possible words on one of the other clans. That clan being that of Yarto Ura. He wasn't here to set Yarto and his clan up as pawns against the others. He was just going to see what the feelings towards them was from the leaders of Shogun.

Layne knew nothing about the Shogun leadership, they was rather quiet on the war front keeping to themselves and not making themselves known to their enemies and he did not even know if they had allies or anything. Judging by the way Shogun was heading on a planetary scale with the improvements he could see, the leadership was more interested in improving the lives of the people they served instead of them having to spend credit after credit on the vast war machine they would need to take over the other clans by force.

So far out of two clans he had seen leadership wise, they was the smartest. Building up the planet and the morale of the people was the best thing they could do, along with letting the other clans slaughter themselves while they sat in peace and tranquility on the piece of real estate they called home.

Jate'kara - August 25, 2008 10:17 PM (GMT)
Of course she remembered him, and his name. When Cassus Fett had been leading the Mandalorians Shay had been debating on whether she should stay or leave. In the end she had stayed. Because of Layne and what he had said to her, when he had unexpectedly shown up at her home on Mandalore. She would forever be grateful for it.

Thinking about it now, Shay wondered if her home on Mandalore still stood. Or if it had been since destroyed. During the battle at Mandalore, when the Imperial Remnant had attacked, Shay had been here on Shogun. Doing some training with Charlydia. During that battle they had lost their friend. Illima Undosia. Or so far as they knew she had been lost at Mandalore. No one had heard from her, and neither Charlydia nor Shay herself had returned to Mandalore since that day.

Shay offered a little smile, and a nod. "Of course I remember you, Layne." Shay told him. "Shay Lorria, just in case you have forgotten. And yes, I'll be meeting with you. Usually Charlydia Faon is around as well. Today however they are outside the city doing some training. Or combat maneuvers or war games, as Charlydia and some of the other Warriors are calling them. So it will be just me, if that is alright with you."

At his mention of the city Shay glanced over her shoulder and then nodded as she turned back to face Layne. "It's better to see when walking." Shay told him, and motioned for him to follow her. "When Charlydia Faon was named Lady of Shogun, by Kira Fett, she started working on making Shogun a better place to live. Wanting it to have a homey feeling to it, I suppose. Since the attack on Mandalore we have continued to focus on that."

"Bral is our largest city. Several of the families here have started up businesses. Nothing major, however. Cantinas, weapons modification shops, and things like that. We also keep our headquarters, I suppose you can call it, here in the city. As well as a small training facility. The main training facilities are outside the city. Gra'tua is our second largest settlement, although it is much small than Bral. Mostly a farming community, since the lands surrounding it are more fertile than the rest of the planet."

Realizing that she was rambling on about the planet, Shay's face flushed a little and she gave Layne an apologetic look. "Sorry for going on," She told him and then cleared her throat. "Anyway, we thought that those who choose to come here needed something more than death and blood. We are dedicated to our training, of course. But we need more than just war. We need lives. A sense of peace and happiness."

She shrugged as she trailed off. Shay wasn't naive and knew that some Mandalorians wouldn't be happy with such a life. Whether Layne was one of those people or not, she was not sure. But she was happy here, and with what they were doing.

Layne Messiah - August 25, 2008 11:03 PM (GMT)
Layne followed behind Shay as they both looked at the city. "Well, I must say. Lady Of Shogun Faon has done quite well, what would be your offical title? or do you have one?" Layne said walking a bit more before speaking to Shay again. You and Faon have done well for the planet from what I see. Much more developed then Gargon, home of the Ura Clan. I agree with you that more is needed then just a life of war. That was one of the reasons, I strayed away. War was just I don't know. It wasn't the same once I got the taste of life outside of war."

Layne looked with great interest as they both walked. His mind absorbed the details that each building offered to the view of his eyes. Some buildings was very ornate looking, they had every detail perfected from the window shaping to even what the paint was for the building. "You know, this is a very home feeling planet. I think I might buy a apartment here. Since i almost always travelling it's better then falling to sleep in my office on Onderon." Layne spoke, he did have no real place to stay other then his office on Onderon since he was always out and about doing things as the leader of the Atra Luna.

Layne would not hint at his criminal life unless confronted about it since he assumed the Shogun leadership would rather not have that occupying the planet. Right now he was on Shogun looking and of course the female population was not bad right now. But that was something for another time and day. He was here on a diplomatic mission, and since it seemed the people of Shogun was going to be more diplomatic then bringers of war it seemed that it would go well.

"Might I ask what it is that Shogun would like to see from the other clans? any requests you could say. Any ideas that you think would help bring the clans together? I am here on what you could say to be a diplomatic mission for the greater good of all Mandalorians. I represent no major clan in the clan wars. I am like you, I would like to bring peace and happiness to the Mandalorians, but it seems as if most of the clans want all out war to determine the next leader of the Mandalorians. I look at it this way, if the leaders want to fight to death, all they are doing on a grand scale is making themselves weaker.

I tried explaining that to Yarto Ura. He didn't really seem to take to that idea, I think he even called some of his own people weak and unworthy until I corrected him that no Mandalorian male or female shall be unworthy or weak. They all have the same thing to lose here. Don't you agree? That all Mandalorians should be able to live how they want, not how the clan leader wants? What if they don't want to go marching off to war against the enemy?" Layne spoke going on a rambling spree as they walked, stopping to to apologize for his own rambling.

"I am sorry, I am going on and on about things. I had to do that with Yarto. Talk non stop and then get short answers to which I would have to explain things even more to him. Damnit, I am doing it again." Layne remarked as he caught himself repeating what he was doing before.

Layne started walking again and continued his sight seeing of the city. Although he did not know much about the planet, he was sure he was going to be learning more from Shay Lorria as they continued walking and talking through the capital. It was less military and more diplomacy for Shogun, more of a Republic approach to things.

Jate'kara - August 26, 2008 02:34 AM (GMT)
"No worries, Layne. I tend to find myself going on and on, as well as occasionally repeating myself, as of late." Shay chuckled.

She understood where he was coming from. The things he was saying, and where he seemed to be trying to go with them. Much of it was something that tended to be the hot topic of discussions on Shogun. And something that both Shay and Charlydia had discussed whenever they had the time to do so.

"I think since Mandalore, we have been less than formal around here. The titles we held before, or ranks rather, is all we hold. Usually though, we use our names. Living beings, rather than ranks and numbers." Shay, after hearing Layne mention the homey feeling, looked around, smiled, and nodded. "It does have that feeling. Gra'tua even more so. Bral has the apartments, and some houses on the outskirts. Gra'tua has the houses, rather than the apartments. And of course, if you ever decide to get yourself a place here, we would be happy to have you."

Silence fell as she thought about what Layne had asked. The questions were simple enough, of course. However, she wanted to give clear answers. Even though she had many others on Shogun had discussed such topics at length, explaining them seemed different.

"Shogun would like to see the other Clans stop with the nonsense they are currently embarking on. The fighting between each other. I can understand the anger and frustration that followed the events at Mandalore. However, I do not understand why they act as they do towards each other."

"As for what could bring the clans together, I do not know. However, we intend to try something. Anything, really. Charlydia plans on doing what you say you are doing now. Play the part of a diplomat, and meet with Clan leaders. Hopefully a way will be found."

Shay gave a shrug, and smiled again. "And yet, despite the overwhelming influence of alien cultures, and the absence of a true home world and even species, their own language not only survived but changed little; their way of life and their philosophy remained untouched; and their ideals and sense of family, of identity of nation, were only strengthened." Shay said. "I read that once. I think it was the last time I saw the world I was born on. Until, and after should it happen, the clans re-unit. I plan to make sure that our ways remain strong. To make sure that our people, no matter which Clan they are from, know that they can have a home here. And to make sure I do everything I can to protect their homes, our people, and our ways. Even if the clans do not work out their differences, I want to make sure that the Mandalorians have what they need."

"I do agree with you," Shay continued. "A leader should listen to his or her people. Ensure they have what they want and need. Make sure they listen to their peoples words, and not dismiss them. Not dictate their lives. For if you do, eventually they will rebel."

"That is not what I want Shogun to be. A dictatorship. I refuse to let it happen while I live and breath, and the Faons feel the same way. What we have here now, was accomplished by working together. By listening to each other. And it will continue to grow, so long as we continue to work as one."

Layne Messiah - August 26, 2008 05:17 PM (GMT)
"Wow, a Mandalorian who can laugh at something. I must report that to the holonet." Layne remarked joking with Shay as Mandalorians were usually portrayed as the serious and stern soldiers of war and death. They were portrayed as only bringing death and misfortune to a enemy.

Becoming serious once again Layne responded to Shay when it came to talking about the clans and the feel of Shogun's capital. He wanted Mandalorians to feel like they had a place to belong after Mandalore had been taken from them. Shay and Charlydia had set the planet up to be that way. The space station which was also part docking station was part of the new Shogun that was free of Mandalore rule, they had every right to be concerned with the way things was headed in regards to the other clans that had survived after Mandalore and those who occupied the other controlled planets and moons of the Mandalorians.

"I don't want to see Shogun as a dictatorship either. So far you seem to be a very reasonable person, I mean this is probably the most I have ever spoken with you. You seem very level headed as well does Charlydia although I have yet to speak with her ever I believe. How would you feel if Shogun recieved some support and protection through the underworld?

You see, I am involved in things that aren't exactly up to Republic standards. But I am sure that Shogun would not mind a few extra credits coming in and have a few extra hands around if the planet was to be attacked. They will be on strict orders from me not interfere with anything on Shogun. If they do, then they answer to me and the Shogun leadership.I wish not to cause Shogun any trouble. I just want to help out the ones who seem to be the most realistic about things."

Layne spoke about the Atra Luna setting up on Shogun, It was not the smartest thing for him to do but he wanted to put all of his cards on the table for them to be seen and let them know what he wanted. He didn't want to bring problems to the planet with him, he just wanted to have a hand in helping the people out while he also continued his operations with the Atra Luna.

Shogun being the most peaceful of the clan planets, would probably need the extra help when it came to personel and when it came to purchasing things for the Shogun Defense Forces. " I hope that Lady Of Shogun Faon is armed when she goes to visit them, because if they are anything like Yarto Ura things could end up bad for her, let's just say that Clan Ura is not the brightest star in this dark galaxy." Layne commented referring to the way that Yarto had acted through the meeting.

It seemed as if he didn't want to here Layne's outside perspective on the situation. But at least here on Shogun they was smart enough to take upon the suggestions and words of anyone who was willing to talk. They would let them talk, but it did not mean they would have to do everything they listened to.

"Shay, if you don't mind me asking what planet was you born on?" Layne asked, and since they was being informal about things it was not like he was breaking any rules or anything that he knew off.

"I just hope Lady Of Shogun Faon does not refer to the possible time of the Mandalorians being Masters of War as over. I did that and Yarto had about Rancor sized temper tanturm in I guess was what his office for the time being. A Thousand Armies on A Thousand Worlds, it has to end at some point I think."

Jate'kara - August 26, 2008 05:53 PM (GMT)
"I worry about Shogun. About someone attacking it. Whether it be from other Mandalorian Clans, or even the Imperial Remnant. So I try to think of ways to protect our people. Even toyed with the idea of joining the New Republic. Charlydia and her cousin pointed out something to me, which made me realize that would be a mistake. If we joined the Republic, this would become a Republic world. What we have worked hard for, would be there's. So we shall stay as we are, at least until the other clans decide to end their indifference's." Shay explained. She then glanced over at Layne and smiled a little. "What help we can get from friends, we would gladly accept. And what help we can give in return, we are happy to give."

It was her way of saying she was okay wit what Layne had suggested so far. For years many Mandalorians had chosen a road like Laynes. Even some who lived on Shogun was into such a life. Not by a lot, but they were into some things. It was not something that bother her or Charlydia. Not as long as it did not hold a dark cloud over Shogun and its people.

"Char... Well, we gave her suggestions, for when she goes on her mission. She'll be taking a Keldabe. Although I am tempted to have more ships follow her, just in case. It was also suggested to her that she takes a team with her to each meeting, instead of heading in alone. Whether she will take every bit of advice offered to her..." Shay shrugged. "She is good with people though. She should be fine."

Hearing Layne's words on the Ura's though, worried her a bit. Knowing that was where Charlydia planned to go first. It worried her even more because of her friends latest crush. Although, Charlydia had always been good at setting such things aside when on a mission. Hopefully that would remain. Shay would talk to her later about it.

"I was born on Mandalore. This is the first time that I have lived anywhere else." Shay replied. "I'd like to go back, one day. But I think it is better to wait. From what I have heard, Fenn is still on Mandalore. What kind of mood heis in, with the battle and the clans dividing, I have not heard. That will be Charlydia's last stop on her mission. Although I am tempted to go with her. See if my home still stands."

Layne Messiah - August 26, 2008 06:24 PM (GMT)
"Sure Shogun would become a Republic world, but I am sure if you made a few requests or something they would take that into consideriation. I mean it's not everyday they have a former Mandalorian planet coming to them and saying can we sit at your table now? But then again the people who live on Shogun would be truely represented by a democratic system. You wouldn't have to worry about a dictatorship based Mandalore again." Layne commented, knowing that one person have the power was never a good thing.

Even with his organization, he made sure the others had a say in things and they played a vital role in the operations as well. "I hope that Faon takes the suggestions that was made to her heart and head because, the enemy is always unpredicatble in what they might do. I would like to credit Shogun with not being the ones to throw around the fleet they have and such, and instead waiting for the others to mess up and keep your self protected. A smart plan indeed to be followed." Now it was time for Layne to ask Shay what Shogun needed in terms of defenses and things of that nature, it was time for the military sides of both of them to stand out.

"So, what does Shogun need? I see you have a space station and obviously troops and things of that nature. I am sure that Shogun has things it would like to acquire but it would have trouble purchasing on it's own two feet. And Don't be shy about what Shogun might need, heck I might even buy you something since this half meeting and half tour is going so well." Layne added on to the end slightly joking about buying Shay something. But it was just the way the planet made you feel. Here you had the feel of home, which was even something he lacked while on Mandalore a long time ago.

"I was born on Mandalore as well, I lived there for all of my life until I left from the service of Mandalore. I know my home is destroyed, it was destroyed long ago. But I am sure the base I lived at was destroyed by the Imperials, I don't think they will let anything stand in the way of them leaving the planet as the sole oppressors of the Mandalorians.

You should go with her to Mandalore if you want, but I doubt Fenn Rhysa will talk to anyone whom he thinks might be a traitor to the Mandalorians. I am sure he sees the clan leaders as traitors and probably has already issued orders for any of them to be killed on sight. It is just the way Fenn is. The battle of Mandalore was certainly a tragedy by any standards, for a nation of people to lose what they had gained in such a short battle. The Imperials came and caught Fenn with a surprise attack and he did know how to react to it and well here we are now."

It seemed no matter which planet it was Fenn was the topic of talk for all the people, but of course it came down to those who supported Fenn as Mandalore still and those who would rather spit on him and watch him die then give him a piece of food. It was how Mandalorians worked. But Fenn had done too much damage for most people to have forgiven him. Even Layne could not forigve him and they had both seen victory and defeat on many things over the years. Losing the home planet was just something that most people would not accept as fact with out the person who lost the battle being dead for doing such a thing.

"So, what else do we have to look at here in the Capital?" Layne asked, intreigued about the planet the more he looked around and the more time he spent on the surface.

Jate'kara - August 26, 2008 08:11 PM (GMT)
Shay also hoped that Charlydia listened to them, when she embarked on her mission. She couldn't help but to worry about her friend's safety. Shay knew that if she were to send some ships to follow Charlydia, just in case, that her friend might get upset with her. She could suggest it though. As well as talk with some of those who would be going with Charlydia. Make sure that they were prepared just in case something happened to Charlydia and her team while on the surface of each planet.

Chuckling at his words, she thought them over for a moment and then gave a shrug. "What doesn't one need, when protecting their home and people? Right now we seem to be doing fine with what we have. Part of me wonders if we need more ships to defend, should we ever be attacked. Yet then again, I also think we have a good amount for one planet. At one of the meetings the topic of surface-defense cannon's. But then we went with the docking station, which offers some defense for us."

She listened as he spoke of his home, and of how it had been destroyed some time ago. Shay hoped her own home had not suffered such a fate. It had been with her family for some time. Although, it would not surprise her if it were now gone. Even if it were a good distance from the bases and towns on Mandalore.

"That is the reason we are saving Fenn for last," Shay told him. "His state of mind could be anywhere from complete emptiness, to paranoid and aggressive. We're hoping, that by saving him for last, that we will have some kind of idea as to what kind of mind he is in."

"What happened at Mandalore was indeed tragic. As well as a surprise. I, like many others, blamed him. Blamed his lack of experience as a leader for the losses our people suffered from that battle. But it is also our fault as well. He should have known that he was not the kind of leader our people need, yet we did nothing about it."

Shay felt that someone should have stepped up. Either when Fenn moved to take the title of Mandalore, or even after. There had been many signs that showed that he was not capable of leading them. Yet they had stood by, and had done nothing about it. Whether doing so would have made a difference in regards to the Mandalore Battle, she did not know. However, something should have been done.

Instead, nothing had been. Now the Clans were divided. Some were fighting with each other. Not one of them stepping back to realize that divided they were only a shell. United, they were strong in many ways. Shay hoped that one day, they would see how wrong this war between each other was. And then it would make them stronger, and united once more. Hopefully, that day would come sooner rather than later.

Hearing Layne ask more about the city Shay smiled once again. "There is plenty too see. What would interest you though, Layne?" Shay asked curiously. Wondering what he would prefer to see in the city.

Layne Messiah - August 27, 2008 01:52 PM (GMT)
"Surface cannons, how much would these cost per cannon? does Shogun need any kind of armored ground vehicles, like tanks and other things of that nature? Or what if you guys had another docking station? What could have been done to keep Rhysa out of power at first? replace him with another Mandalore? that's not a good track record for anyone. To be replacing your leader it seems as if it was done almost every day.

I think if we had ended up removing him from power before he could do anything we would have still ended up with the same end result. The Imperial attack was too swift and overall they out smarted the Mandalorian Navy at Mandalore. They knew how to fight capital ship to capital ship." Layne spoke as they continued the step by step tour and meeting through the capital, from what Layne could see they was in the downtown part of the capital judging from the size and rather grand looking buildings.

When she spoke about Fenn, he recalled the information that Yarto had told him about the way Fenn had been when those two had met almost instantly after the defeat at Mandalore. "Yarto, said that he had spoken to him some after the defeat at Mandalore and apparently Fenn was only concerned with reclaiming glory and honor for himself above the honor of the Mandalorians. That is also when Yarto announced to Fenn that he was planning to challenge him for the title of Mandalore. But what state of mind that would be considered I do not know, I am no expert of the mind. All I was a expert in was killing people."

They would be a shell of clans until they was one again, one Mandalorian nation and one Mandalorian flag to carry into battle. "I don't know what's in this city Shay. Remember I don't live here yet. So someone has to tell me what this city has got to offer."

Layne continued walking through the city along with Shay, he watched as people passed them some in speeders and others walking in the opposite direction from them. They had no criminal element that he could see, so when the Atra Luna came to set up shop he would make sure they kept things that way.

Shogun would only be home to a small base of operations and nothing more, since he did not want to ruin the work that Charlydia and Shay had put into the planet along with the others who made up the current leadership. If the other Atra Luna members had a problem with that they could discuss it with him, for being a crime lord he kept his people on short strands of freedom.

They did what he told them to do unless they was directed otherwise, His word was law while he was with them. If they was on a mission or something that he sent them to do, they did the same thing. They stuck to the plan unless the situation called for things to be improvised.

"And If I can not buy it, I will steal it and bring it to Shogun. Shame I shut down the weapons manufacturing company I had and sold that off. I am sure Shogun could have used the extra weaponry for something. A couple of extra rifles and pistols here and there could have helped out if the planet to was ever be put underseige for anything." It was true, Shogun could have used the weapons factory he had but the call of credits was something more important to him before and the factory was never being used because no one wanted to produce things for a former Mandalorian soldier.

"I honestly have no clue what prices are like for cannons and such. I leave that sort of stuff to the others. Seeing as they know more about it, with me preferring to fix up our people, and them preferring the fighting. As for docking stations, I think we are fine for now with what we have. If we ever get more into the trading business, I think I'd like to look into a trading station. That way we can try to keep most of it off the planet, so we can hold onto our... Well, home like feeling."

Thinking about what he had said about Fenn, the changes of the Mandalore title, and of the attack on Mandalore, Shay nodded. "You're probably right. No matter who was leading out people, the end result would have probably been similar. Perhaps our problem was not only that we seem to go through Mandalores at a rapid pace, and ones with poor leadership to boot. Our people are warriors, and prefer physical combat. We should have also done more to improve our navy. Not just the ships themselves, but also those who command them."

"Fenn should be thinking about his people. About helping them, and trying to re-unite the clans. Not thinking about himself. He will find no honor nor glory, standing alone. As Mandalore his responsibility are our people." Shay grumbled. It annoyed her, the thought of the man who was supposed to be leading their people, doing nothing but thinking about himself. Especially when his people needed their leader.

She sighed, then shook her head. Thinking about Fenn right now was a waste of time. Besides, it just made her frustrated and angry. So she thought back to what they had been talking about before. "A group went in, while the clans were bickering and grabbing what they could. They managed to grab some vehicles. Canderous Assault Tanks and the sort."

"What are your thoughts on Yarto, and the Ura Clan?" Shay asked. Since Layne had said he had spoken to Yarto, she found herself curious of what Layne thought. "One of the topics you hear when going into a cantina around here, is who would make a good leader. Should the clans re-unite. Some have spoken his name. But considering some of our recent leaders, I tend to wonder if we really know who would make a good leader."

What to show him, Shay was not sure. Seeing a building up a head, she decided to start there. It was not a large building. Holding only a few floors. It was surrounded by a small fence. "Displaced children," Shay told him and nodded towards the building. "Not exactly what one would show on a tour. They are all from Mandalore. There is about ten, maybe eleven children staying here. They were in one of the ships that managed to escape, during the battle. Since we haven't found their parents..." Shay trailed off with a shrug. The only thing they could assume was either their parents were with one of the other clans, or most likely died at Mandalore.

"We're trying to decide what will be done, if we do not find their families. Keep them with their own people, of course. But then we have to figure out which Clan, which world. I worry about sending them off somewhere else, and then the place we send them to isn't safe because of these clan wars. They've been through a lot already, and while they are tough kids, I do not want to send them from one war zone to another." Shay explained and then smiled. "I'm sometimes tempted to take them home with me, whenever I come here. But caring after injured and drunk warriors is more than enough. I think having close to a dozen children on top of that would send me over the edge."

Layne Messiah - August 27, 2008 08:41 PM (GMT)
"It seems that you are the one who is more peaceful. You don't even know cannon prices and you call yourself Mandalorian!" Layne shouted in a joking manner. "But, if Shogun does want to develop it's self as a trading outpost I am more then willing to spare credits to pay for the purchase of it and maybe even a couple more businesses and things for the planet."

"Shay, what you just said about the Mandalore's and the poor leadership they had. you just said exactly what I was thinking. That was the biggest problem, Fenn could not do anything about those before him coming and leaving. He tried and failed sadly. He doesn't want the other clans to honor and give him glory, he just wants the people of his clan to worship at his feet. Which I doubt even they will do unless he is doing something right to keep them under his control."

Layne looked at the building where the children was staying, they was robbed of a home and of the parents they had as well it would seem. When she spoke of what he thought about Yarto and Clan Ura, Layne turned his head quickly and gave her a rather serious look. "Clan Ura is not to be trusted, neither is Yarto. The way I understood him he has already proclaimed himself as Mandalore. He likes to beat the drums of war and wants to fight the clans in order to bring them back together." Layne knew that his response would not be the one that Shay wanted to hear but it was the one that he had felt like he had been given when he was on Gargon meeting with Yarto at Kin-Helm

When she spoke of what to do with the children Layne had a prompt response. "The reason you are tempted is because I think you have that motherly instinct. You want to take care of them as part of instinct. But I guess you are right taking care of drunks can be annoying. Why don't you adopt them?, if you don't want to then keep them here on Shogun at least here you know they could learn something other then how to kill on the fields of battle. You should know what battle is like, you was a medic. I certainly know what it is like, Belthu is always in the back of miy mind somewhere and there I hope it stays. You let them stay here and I am sure that when they are old enough they will repay Shogun with great service."

"At least with the kids, you wouldn't have drunk guys hitting on you in the cantinas anymore when ever you decide to go. Because they will know your the one with the kids and they will simply move out of the way." Layne remarked joking again with her.

"At least with them staying here, you know that they will not be sent out marching on the fields of death and desolation. They won't have to face Mandalorian brothers and sisters on the field of battle. Here they can actually be educated to do something more then just kill." As Layne spoke he leaned up against the fence only for one of the children to approach him and the fence.

Being sarcastic Layne looked at Shay and spoke. "Now, see how can you say no to a little face like that?" After he turned his attention back to the child he was handed a ball by another small one who was a boy and Layne threw it across the small playing area they had.

"So, since that wasn't really tourist type can I see something that is? And no cantinas! because I drink enough as it is already." Layne commented before he motioned for her to lead the way.

Jate'kara - August 27, 2008 09:36 PM (GMT)
It wasn't what she wanted to hear. Knowing full well that her dearest friend was filled with the urge to head to Gargon and meet with the Ura's as quickly as possible. Shay wished that Charlydia would acquire better taste when it came to men. Drawn to womanizing warriors. Shay just hoped that either Layne was wrong in his opinions about Yarto and the Uras, or that Charlydia's crush would not last. Since none of her other crushes had lasted for long, Shay figured there was a good chance that this one would not either.

"Fighting the other clans will not draw them back together, but push them farther apart." Shay commented. Hearing that Yarto had proclaimed himself as Mandalore, was a surprise. She wondered how many other clan leaders had proclaimed themselves as Mandalore. Then wondered why they would bother, since it would probably only stir trouble in already troubled waters. "I do not think Yarto Ura proclaiming himself as Mandalore, will help matters."

The Clans were a mess, in Shay's opinion. It did not seem like the other clans were trying much to fix things either. Fighting, claiming titles. None of it would help. Part of her wondered if letting Charlydia meet with the other Clans would be a waste of time and effort. But then again, Shay supposed it would not hurt to try. And, the other clans needed to know where Shogun stood.

Glancing back over at the building, where the Mandalorian children were staying for the time being, Shay gave a nod and smiled. "Perhaps that is why," Shay replied. "I will probably cave into those instincts. Adopt one or two of them, should we not find their families. I think my cousin Rel and his wife are considering doing the same. I even tried talking Charlydia into adopting a child. I kind of hope she will. It might get her to settle down." Shay shrugged. "We shall see, I suppose."

"The blood of a warrior flows through all of us, whether we were born as a Mandalorian, or adopted into them. They'd still have to be trained. However I do hope that what they learn, they will not have to use against their own people. Growing up, and especially over the past years, desires to be on a battlefield were strong. For many of those in the other clans, that desire is still strong. Our people seem to have forgotten the other important things in life." Shay commented and looked at Layne. "Perhaps you, and many of those here on Shogun only see what else there is in life now because we walked away."

"Drunks though, I can handle. When trying to treat a drunk and injured warrior I only have to pull out one of my scalpels and points it at something he wishes not to lose. It tends to stop them from hitting on me." Shay laughed. "Children though, well. It'd be different."

As she started to lead the way away from the building, and explosion was heard from off in the distance. She paused, then glanced over in the direction it had come from. Seeing the smoke rising into the sky she sighed, shook her head, and continued walking. "They have a perimeter set up, for their war games. I'm fairly certain that was outside of it." Shay explained. "They are also supposed to be using duds and whatever else, so they do not kill each other. However, I won't be surprised if they ignore those rules and I end up treating someone with a missing limb later."

Leading the way, Shay took Layne a few blocks away from the 'orphanage'. Then pointed out an old building across the way that looked like it was in desperate need of repairs. "That is one of the oldest buildings in Bral. We're not too sure how old it is, since our people have been on Shogun for quite some time. Nor have we really figured out what it was used for. Some think it might have been an old temple of sorts. Because of some things we found inscribed on the interior walls. Most of it is faded. One part we made out is some old myth about the sloth-god Arasuum fighting the destroyer god Kad Ha'rangir."

"At first we thought about tearing it down and maybe building an apartment or something. But it seems wrong to do so, so we might renovate it. Make it into a culture center or museum. Something to remember and honor our ways. Keep our heritage alive." Shay explained, then chuckled. "Another suggestion, from one of the elderly warriors who I think has gone a bit senile, is that we fix it up. Turn it into a club for men trying to escape their wives."

Layne Messiah - August 27, 2008 10:27 PM (GMT)
"I don't think anyone really know whats best for the Mandalorians any more except for maybe the people here on Shogun. Fenn is worried about himself, Yarto wants to fight and pull things back together. I don't know about the others yet. But I am sure they want to fight as well." Layne commented while looking at the building that Shay had led them to it was indeed a old building perhaps the oldest building on Shogun.

The building was much older then those that surronded it. The age of the building added a sense of mystery to the area and would have Layne returning to look through when and if he got permission to do such a thing. It would not be unusual for old Mandalorian worlds to have weapon stockpiles hidden beneath the planet or with in cave networks. Dxun was famous for that, the Republic fought and died there and they still did not take all the weapons from the planet.

The inside of the temple would be full of debris more then likely and it was possible for it to be filled with traps for the unsuspecting explorer to fall through or get crushed by some contraption from the days of old when technology was not the greatest but things still served the purpose well.

"If you think it is a temple I would suggest not renovating it. Simply clean it up and make sure it is you structurally sound and all of that good stuff. Then let it open to the public to go and look through. Not like a museum, if they still want to use it for temple purposes then let it happen. I don't think it would cause much harm to Shogun.

I have not had the urge to step out on the field of battle for some time now Shay. But you are right, I did realize a lot of things after I walked away. But when I walked away I had nothing. What family I had, was killed by a freak accident. At least thats what I was told. I have instincts with that was never acted on by me. A wife and two kids gone with out warning from my grasp." Layne said speaking about the death of his family, and then he took a brief pause and sighed.

"Anyway, maybe you could get some artists to fix up the building and any pictures that may have been added to the structure. Indeed, Warrior blood does flow through those children and they will need to be trained in time. But that does not mean they can not learn other things. And you don't need surgical equipment or anything like that. You just need a gun or a guy with you, you seem to be the type who would not be seen with either and would just stab someone with a scaple. So what kind of training is supposed to be going on where the smoke was coming from? If you have a firing range I am sure I could use the practice if I had brought my rifle with me." Layne finished speaking and then laughed when he got to thinking about the elderly warrior making the comment that he did.

"Well, if he wants the building converted into that then apparently he did not do to good of a job earlier in life when he was out and about hunting for a girl to be his wife. I am sure most of the men on the planet would not mind having a place to go to so they can avoid the wife when she is mad or wanting them to do something." It was a good idea that the old man had, but Layne was rather sure that the Shay and Charlydia would not be happy with such a building being present on the surface of Shogun.

Jate'kara - August 28, 2008 06:18 PM (GMT)
"It would not surprise me, if the other clans were found to be in the same state of mind as the Ura's. They seem to be listening to their warrior blood, and ignoring what is in their head." Shay sighed.

If the other clans were thinking at all like the Ura's seemed to be, then Shay doubted these clan wars would end anytime soon. If ever. Still, she would not try to talk Charlydia out of meeting with the Clan leaders. At least, not yet. However, she was certain now that their primary focus should be Shogun, and their people. It would be hard to re-unit clans that wished to do nothing more than fight each other. Not to mention a waste of time. Perhaps if things settled, it would be easier to try.

Studying the temple, as she listened to Layne's thoughts on it, Shay gave a nod. It was a good idea. Especially since no one seemed to agree on what to do with it. Other than not tear it down. Cleaning it up, making sure it was safe. It would help hold onto what it was. Instead of changing it to what it could be.

When Layne spoke of battle fields, and of his home and family, Shay listened silently and nodded. Unlike others around her, she personally never cared for battles. They sought their glory though blood and death. Shay found hers through healing her people, and doing the best she could so that they could find their glory another day. That was what life had been for her, before all of this. Being here, on Shogun. It gave her a new view on what life as a Mandalorian could be.

"I'm not exactly sure what kind of training they are doing out there. From what I have gathered the warriors staying on Shogun have broken up into two teams. Then they are practicing various tactics and maneuvers with each other. When someone is 'hit', they are sent to the barracks to wait for things to wrap up. A team loses by either surrendering, which none of them will probably do, or by whoever has the less amount of men left." Shay explained when Layne asked what they were doing. "I'm thinking now that perhaps I should see about setting something similar for our navy personal and the ships."

It was the talk about Mandalore that had made her think about that idea. The Mandalorian Warriors always seemed to get a lot of training arranged for them. Both before and after the clans had divided. Leaving the navy forgotten. Something that was a mistake. One that Shay wanted to correct, as soon as possible.

Shay chuckled when Layne remarked on the elderly male. "One night, after going for a drink with the boys, he walked home alone drunk. Went into the wrong house, and crawled into the wrong bed with the wrong woman. The next morning his wife went looking for him, certain he had passed out on the way home and was laying on the side of the road somewhere. When she reached the block just passed the market, she could hear someone screaming. Then saw her husband get shoved out of an open door, while he tried pulling is pants up. It's been war since, between the two of them."

She nodded in the direction up the road. "Up ahead there is a small training center. Just a place for minor training, working out, and to do some target practice." Shay told him. Then paused for a moment, before glancing at Layne again. "Do you think there is a chance things can be worked out between the clans? Or would it be too early to tell?"

Layne Messiah - August 28, 2008 10:54 PM (GMT)
Looking back at Shay, he answered her question about if he thought the clans had a chance of getting back together as one. Layne remained silent for a few moments and then decided to give her the best answer that he could. "Shay, I don't really think it is possible for the clans to get back together peacefully. I think clans that act the way as Clan Ura will look to fighting to resolve some of the situation while diplomacy will take over the other parts. So I guess it is possible but just not the way that I want to see it happen. Enough violence and bloodshed has already happened with the defeat at Mandalore, why should we spill more of our own blood?"

Layne after speaking went from looking at Shay to up the road and could see part of the training center from where they was standing at. " You are right Shay, the navy needs help as well. Training and constant drills to get them ready for a possible attack. I am not saying it will happen, but it might. And of course get them what ever equipment that you can for the future."

Layne thought about visiting the center when Shay mentioned the target ranges but decided against it for the time being. "Target Ranges? I might have to check those out in the future and put the others around here to shame when it comes to accuracy and distance."

Thinking about the old man entering someone else's house while he was drunk and entering someone elses's bed and sharing that bed with a woman he did not know would have made for some interesting stories for the grandchildren to hear.

Layne liked to get drunk sometimes, but he never had gotten that drunk. But then again, he also didn't go out to the cantina's for his drinks he went and just bought the drinks and headed back to his office and then went about wasting away the days and nights until his drinking was over and then he was fine again.

After thinking about the old man and his drinking, he decided to talk about the training. " I am sure if you put me in there with those other soldiers you would have a couple bunkers full of them, just waiting to get out and trying and snap my neck or something. Some people just don't like to lose. They should be luck that when they lose in training, it is just a game and not a live battle. Because if it was then they would not have anything to get mad at. they would be dead, no waking up for them just one long long sleep."

Layne and Shay were very different she was the medic with the instincts of a mother and he was the trained killing machine that had walked away and was making a name for himself in the criminal world and putting other rivals out of commission. He thought back to a few moments before when she had mentioned that the warriors had apparently split into two teams which concerned Layne a bit.

"I hope that them splitting into teams was not based along clan lines, for the sake of all Mandalorians. Because if a place like Shogun can not keep people united for the same thing, then I am certain that the other clans getting back together will be a nearly impossible thing to accomplish for anyone even. And here is another idea for the navy, maybe give them some blaster pistol and rifle training. Since if they get boarded they will need to fight back against the ones who want to take the ship."

Jate'kara - August 28, 2008 11:50 PM (GMT)
Why so many of their people thought fighting was the answer, Shay did not know. If beating the hell out of them was something that she thought would work, she would gladly do it herself. If only to bring her people together. However, Shay was quite certain that fighting would not help. It would make things worse. So if that was their intention, to fight amongst each other, then all Shay could do was take care of those that would allow her. And, to make sure Shogun had all it needed and was protected.

She nodded when he commented on the navy idea. Having them do more training and focusing on them more often, was something that was long overdo. Especially if it would help to protect them, and Shogun. Why they had never thought of doing more with the navy before, she did not know nor understand. Seeing as they were the planets first line of defense, if attacked.

Chuckling under her breath when Layne talked about the target range stuff, she gave a shrug. "Oh, I do not know. Not everyone is as competitive as others. But then again, I have noticed that some get their backs up if they feel that they were beaten." Shay commented. It wasn't something that got out of hand, though. Not yet, at any rate.

"Nah, it isn't by clan. Not for this. I think they draw numbers or something. Then pick who their team leader for the week will be. Charlydia is on the opposite team than her cousins. Which makes them even more competitive I think. At least, with Char and her cousins. I'm not sure about the others. But they seem to enjoy it." Shay explained. "Actually, I noticed lately it isn't just the warriors taking part anymore. Some of the fighter pilots and medics join in on it. Which is good for them. Helps them get some battle experience. Even if they are just messing around and not on an actual battle field."

Thinking about his last suggestion, for the navy personal. Shay nodded. It was probably a good idea. If attacked there would most likely be boarding parties. And they too would be boarding enemy ships. Having more experience with firearms, and even melee weapons, would probably be a good ting. "That would probably be a good idea. It'd be good for them, and they would probably enjoy it."

Layne Messiah - August 29, 2008 01:21 AM (GMT)
"Competition is good for them right now, The harder they fight here and the more desire they show to win will be double that when it comes to fighting a real enemy. The last mass training that I can remember was the one led by Halo Synn way back before all of this started. I wasn't around for to take part in it, but it was interesting to see something of that scale take place I am sure of that. It would be even more realisitc if you guys would throw the tanks into the mix and show them how to operate while using the tanks as cover." Layne told Shay throwing some of his own expierence into the mix to help the Shogun clans anyway possible that he could.

Speaking of the tanks Layne came to realize that he had never actually got to be around one of them when he was fighting under the flag of Mandalore. "You know, all the fighting I did at Trandosha and Belthu and I have yet to even see one of them things. Belthu was me leading a bunch of Death Watch and other infantry into battle. Trandosha was a real combat test. Trial By Fire on that planet. I could have used one of those tanks then but they was in the other cities on the planet being used there. So I basically was stuck with other infantry there."

"It is good to see medics and fighter pilots learning how to fight just like the army soldiers do. It shows them how to fight down and dirty and it would come in handy for the fighter pilot if they get shot down some where and are on a hostile planet, could help them avoid capture to help arrives or until they can get out a distress signal to the home base."

When Shay spoke about the navy personel and mentioned how they might enjoy it. "Mandalorians don't enjoy training, they enjoy full fledged battle. The navy are the first line of defense so I would work on them actually using the ships they have first and then give them some boarding drills to work with..." Layne paused for a couple of moments as he thought about the idea of both the army and navy doing some kind of joint training.

"You know Shay, why don't you guys stage like fake invasion type of thing. Where the navy you know pretends to fire on the planet and that whole deal and the army defends against what ever invasion troops that maybe available for the invasion of Shogun. It would be interesting, but make sure you inform the people though so they dont panic and begin some kind of civilian defense milita."

After hearing her talk about how some of the soldiers get up set because they lost at something. "If they lost against me and threw a tantrum or what ever they do because they lose. It would be the last time that they would do it, because I would pick up that rifle and hit them across the face with the back end of it. That would shut them up."

"Well, Anyway. I believe I should soon be going now Miss Lorria unless of course there is something else that you wish to show me before I leave Shogun for the time being? I think I may establish a few business ventures here to help out the Shogun economy and maybe even help out a united Mandalorian economy one day. So did you think about what you wanted for such a wonderful tour guide job?" Layne remarked and at the end throwing in a joke about Shay being a tour guide.

Jate'kara - August 29, 2008 04:41 PM (GMT)
"Yes, that would probably be a good idea. Especially since the tanks are doing nothing more than collecting rust in the garages. Which probably isn't good for them. Keep them mobile and in working order, and make sure we know how to use them correctly and to our advantage." Shay agreed with a nod.

She was glad that Layne had stopped by. Especially since he seemed to be filled with a lot of good ideas. Ones that would prove to be rather helpful. And, it was nice seeing that he was doing good. Although listening to him speak, and hearing his ideas and opinions, showed that the Mandalorians had lost more than their unity. They had lost a good Mandalorian as well.

"Yeah, I am glad that they are taking part. When we're younger, we all go through that warrior training stuff. But many seem to wander away from continuing with that training, once they decide to be a pilot, officer, or even medic. It is a good refresher course for them. Teaches them some new things, as well as refreshes their minds on what they have forgotten."

That was one thing that worried her. Shay was constantly wondering for how long her people would be satisfied with training, maneuvers, and war games. Eventually they were bound to want more, and she honestly did not want to lead them into any war. That was something she would have to think about later, though. After Charlydia went on her mission, and returned. Since war was something they might not be able to avoid. Not if the other clans were hellbent on beating a unity out of the other clans.

"Stage a fake invasion?" Shay repeated. Her head tilted to the side thoughtfully as she thought about it. It'd probably be a good idea. Giving them the chance to prepare should they be attacked. Work on protocols and plans for if such a thing were to ever occur. Finally she nodded. "That would probably be a good idea. Especially the part about warning everyone," Shay chuckled.

Shay could just see it. Then forgetting about warning those on Shogun. Then starting up their practice, and many believing it is a real attack. Then them gathering arms and preparing to defend the planet from an invader that was not there. Which would turn bad. If there was a real invasion after that, they might assume it was more training. So yes, making sure everyone knew what was going on was a must.

When Layne mentioned he would have to be going soon, Shay found herself feeling a bit disappointed. Having enjoyed talking with him, and showing him around a bit. But she only nodded, and then laughed at his joke. "I think the tour guide is good for now. Besides, the one thing I want most would require the other clans getting along. Something which credits cannot buy, unfortunately." Shay commented, and then smiled. "I am glad that you came by though, Layne."

Layne Messiah - August 29, 2008 07:48 PM (GMT)
"Well, if you enemy does not have armor with the infantry then you already have the advantage. They also can strike fear by showing up for the battle. If you want them to keep up the warrior training phase, make it something that they have to do. When you have a limited number of soldiers on your side, everyone should know how to fight a decent fight. If they can't agree to doing a mandatory training session every now and then I would question the commitment level they have to fighting for the clans of Shogun." Layne commented offering up more advice to Shay before his departure.

"If you hear calls of war from your people, ignore them. Tell them that the clans not be one again if all Mandalorians are dead from petty skirmishes and full scale wars between one another. Keep the soldiers busy with training, teach your regular infantry how to do other things. Teach everyone how to be a good Medic, show them what ever you can. The more they know the more self reliant each soldier can be if they are to be seperated from the unit they are in. Maximize the potential each one of them has." Layne added on, knowing that Shay And Charlydia both would not want to lead the people of Shogun into war.

It would be bad for them to do, They was doing well so far by sitting back and letting the other clans fight and die through the mindless violence that they themselves had caused through out this war of the clans. Divided by clans, soldiers fought who were once friends and maybe even more then that in some of the cases. But with them having to fight alongside clan lines that burned a lot of bridges that would take time to repair.

The young and old both wanted to fight the war, While also others did not want to fight. They would rather the clans get back together in peace and then head after the true enemy they all should be sharring and that enemy was the Imperial Remnant, they was the ones who had attacked at Mandalore. It was not another clan. It was Imperials, and they was the ones that the Mandalorians should have been fighting and not one another.

Each day that passed, more died for a cause that only a few believed in.
Each day people talked and no progress was made in getting the clans back together, very few diplomatic efforts had been made. The only other diplomatic effort that Layne knew about was the one being undertaken by Charlydia Faon whom was the Lady Of Shogun.

"Before I leave here, I have a few more words of advice for you and the people of Shogun. For your fake invasion, make it as real as possible. Use live weapons when you can. It lets the soldiers feel the reaction of a battle weapon and it also gives them restraint if they have to march through a civilan area where they can not fire the weapons." Layne told Shay, and then he turned and said his last words on Shogun for now.

"Well, I am sure the shuttle will soon be here. I must be departing for now. I will return here very soon. Expect to see some new businesses being built when I show up again Shay." Layne commented and then began walking back towards the shuttle landing area using the way that they had come to guide him back on his own.
