In 2015, the US government found another useful resource in Alaska. This time, instead of gold it was oil. It was hard to navigate in the snow, and government officials turned to dog teams as they had in the Gold Rush.
Unfortunately, with so much oil and so few dogs, the job was taking too long. A senate official brought up physical enhancement for the dogs - and the idea was a success. Or so they thought.
A testing facility was set up in Yellowknife where the dogs were tested on various chemicals. Then the plan failed; the dogs were nearly starved but very strong, and hunger made them turn on the humans who did this to them. Many men were killed, most ran off, until one thought to change the sign outside the testing facility. That sign still stands, though the man is dead.
By 2018, the dogs had taken over the region and the laboratory burned to the ground. Dogs and wolves had interbred and formed packs; some lands were still organizing themselves, others had dominated much of the terrain. Now things are stirring once again, and it is for the dogs to decide the outcome...

Broken Loose is a brand new wolf, dog, and hybrid RP site with all ranks open. We have four different territories and 15 boards for roleplaying. If you're interested in mod power, we're looking for a couple of admins and at least three packleaders. You won't be disappointed.
