Physical Description:
Anna is a typical twenty-four year old girl. Although she isn’t overly vain, she does care about her appearance and tries to presentable whenever in public. She is not some kind of Barbie doll; Anna has found that happy medium between looking nice and looking completely obsessed with herself. Wavy brunette locks grace her head. The length falls just below her shoulders. Her hair is parted slightly to one side or another and long bangs are tucked behind one ear or another. Occasionally, you’ll find it in a ponytail or French braid, but you’ll find that Anna would much rather have her hair free and flowing than confined to a tie or clip.

Her round face frames kind and caring features. Brown eyes gaze out from behind the bangs that are always falling in her face. Her nose is small but angular, adding a sharper line to the rest of her face. She has medium-sized lips that lay before nice, white teeth. Good dental care and braces as a teen was what she had to thank for that. You’ll almost never see her wearing make-up, its just too much work for her ‘on the go’ lifestyle. But when going out or for special occasions, she will apply some, natural colors to highlight her features.

Anna is not a skinny girl, although not fat either. She has some curves, yes, but she does not try hard to flaunt them. She dresses casually, jeans and a tank top or t-shirt suit her just fine. At work, she wears her white lab coat constantly, its part of the uniform you know.

Personality:

The first thing you would notice about Anna if you were to meet her would be that she is a shy individual. When she first meets someone, she tends to be very quiet and timid. Although she knows what she’s talking about, she tends to say very little and let her actions speak more than her words. Anna has a superb work ethic. She tries her hardest to do the best she can the first time and make that the only time she has to do it. This has helped her to manage her Ascendancy in a way that is not only beneficial to her but to her employers as well.

Anna is one of the first people to recognize that you’re wrong but sometimes to too timid to act on it. She often finds herself intimidated by the other doctors and researchers twice her age that had to work ten times as hard as she did to get to where she is now. She often feels that she isn’t liked or accepted by these people because of her special power. Although this often is not the case, the girl can’t help to shake the feeling.

Anna loves quiet places. Being at home, curled up on the couch reading a book is where she feels most comfortable. Nature is also something she enjoys very dearly. Outdoor time is a godsend. Whether it be curled up on the front porch, reading or hiking Everest, she loves feeling of being close to nature.

Reading is another love of hers. A book to her is an escape from reality, a place to go when your life no longer seems real anymore. She enjoys book from the past, from back when there was no such thing as ascendancy. Books about ordinary thing and people. Occasionally you may see her reading a fantasy book as well but never anything science fiction. She believes that enough of that is in her life already, no need to read about it as well.

All in all, you could sum Anna up as a kind and caring person with a hidden personality. She is so fun and great to be around if you get to know her, but she often feels too shy or intimidated to put herself out there fully.

Ascendancy: Anna is, simply put, really smart. The summer after Anna’s high school graduation, she began to notice a change. She could read books faster, notice intricate details all around her, and remember anything and everything that is presented to her. At first she put it off, thinking that it was nothing. But soon no one could deny that it was unnatural. She had the ability to store everything in her head, and recall it in an instant. This often makes her feel embarrassed and will sometimes not say anything if she really can do 10,567,334,050 multiplied by 222,295,864 in her head.

Weakness: With all Anna’s smarts, she doesn’t have any brawn to match it. Although she is physically fit, she has no fighting ability. If you were to give her a gun, you would most likely find her holding it upside down. She would be utterly helpless in these situations and sometimes that could be against her favor. She prefers to stay within the safety of Skygate but sometimes her research takes her out in the field, no place for someone like her.

Anna Damon was born on June fourteenth in Hamilton, Massachusetts. Her life began pretty normal, with two loving parents to look after her. Her father, David, is a graphic designer and her mother, Becca, is a nurse at the local hospital. Her life was comfortable. While her parent’s jobs didn’t bring in millions of dollars, they were able to live quite comfortably. At age six, Anna’s brother Harrison was born. For her, the birth wasn’t as welcome as her parents had hoped it would have been. Harrison, even as a baby, was a livewire that was hard to control and like any six-year-old she felt left out. But she grew up and soon found a kind of maternal love for her new brother. Harrison looked up to Anna and found that she enjoyed looking after him. When Anna was ten, another baby entered the Damon family. Davis was the calm one, taking life as it comes and trying to savor every bit of it.
When Anna turned fourteen, she started a new chapter of her life: high school. Hamilton High was one of those places that one felt at home. Anna had never been a remarkable student before that, mostly getting B’s and C’s. Hamilton High gave her a new outlook on her schooling career. Mr. Dawley, her science teacher, opened up the world of learning for her. She discovered that learning really was fun and began to improve in school. One day she picked up a book and found she couldn’t put it down. Soon enough, those C’s turned into B’s and those B’s into A’s. Although her improvement was dramatic, it was all Anna. At that point her Asendancy hadn’t surfaced yet.

She graduated high school with a exemplary GPA and was offered a scholarship to the University of Anglia and took the chance that it gave her. The summer after her senior year is when things started to get a little freaky for her. Her hunger for knowledge kept growing and growing soon she found that she couldn’t stop. She would spend entire days cooped up in the library, reading what ended up being hundreds of books. At first no one could explain it, maybe she was just bored? Was it serious? No one knew. Anna really didn’t mind it all that much because she really didn’t recognize the change. She was so caught up in learning, well, everything that she didn’t have time to step back and look at what was happening to her.

She started college that fall and soon found that she was way ahead of the other students. Many of her professors thought she was cheating but had no way of backing up the accusations. One of her teachers suggested she go to Skygate and get herself checked out. When she did, she tested positive as an Ascendant and it completely rocked her world. Her parents were in some ways horrified and tried to keep their distance from her as much as possible. Davis followed his parents and kind of shied away from her as well. Harrison however, was different. Once he got over the whole jealously thing, he was really exited about the fact that his sister was a ‘superhero.’ This only strengthened the bond between the two siblings.

Over the next four years, Anna continued in school and continued to learn, earning a degree in scientific medicine. She accomplished in four years what took people two or three times as long to do. After finishing school, Anna began applying for jobs everywhere but no one wanted a super-smart Ascendant showing them up. Especially one as young as Anna. Finally, she was offered a position at Skygate and she jumped at the opportunity. She began working in a lab on the third floor, doing brainless work, analyzing blood samples, etc. But she found that she was bored with the job and the management recognized her talent. Within six months she was promoted to sup-level two, the top-secret end of the medical part of the building. She now helps in studying Ascendants and trying to better understand the origin of their powers.
