A good few months just keep rotating them round when you buy new ones!
Is this the deal below to save the dollar?

Only a bankruptcy organisation would save the system... The dollar is doomed, watch the interest rate... They go up and BYE, they go down and BYE/
I watch the us dollar index each day. If you see it go below 70 then buy everything you listed above.
Im wondering what would happen if the AMERO is true. Anyway, if they want to instore the AMERO or something similar, it would be during the incoming financial derivative real-estate collapse.
I have bought some silver coins in case of a financial chaos...

Ammo Rumorshttp://urbansurvival.com/week.htmI received an interesting email yesterday wondering if there's some kind of a government plot to keep civilian ammunition from working - as explained in this note:
"You've probably heard this, but a friend of mine advised me that in 1998 the Clinton Administration approved a change in the law that peritted primers on bullets to be corrosive, instead of non-corrosive. As a result, the primers will corrode within 1 to 1 and 1/2 years, compromising the bullets. So, we could have all the guns we want; if the bullets don't work, how do we protect ourselves?
Again, this could be a canard, but I figured you could get to the bottom of this.
Thanks, and a Happy New Year."
Ah...; a fine rumor which we put to one of UrbanSurvival/Independence Journal's many consulting weapons experts:
"Corrosive primer materials have been used for most of a century by some ammunition makers. Foreign ammo is particularly prone to this. What corrodes is not the primer, which is quite stable, but the lining of the barrel of the weapon, if not cleaned properly and in a timely fashion, after shooting. A number of foreign militaries used corrosive primer materials for decades. For instance, a lot of Argentinean Mauser ammo was corrosively primed. But in the primer itself, not yet fired, should be no problem. I know shooters who still shoot old mil ammo which was primed with corrosive primer materials decades ago. They just clean their weapons well, and soon, after shooting. A quick Google resulted in a bulletin board on the topic, universally regarded as pure bunk. One poster, who knew what he was talking about noted:
QUOTE: The ComBloc used corrosive primers precisely because they last longer, they expected the shelf life to be 75+ years. Non-corrosive primers supposedly don't last as long, a mere 40 years or so. I've got both commercially loaded ammo from shortly after that era, and reloads that old and older, that go bang with regularity. I also have Czech, Romanian, Hungarian, Turkish, Albanian, Yugoslavian, and Chinese milsurp of varying ages that usually go off, with the occasional dud. My 63 year old Turkish 8mm ammo has not (yet) had a dud. END OF QUOTE
Hope this helps. Not to worry. Bullets usually, normally, almost always go bang. And when they don't, slap, rack, and shoot again!"

Rain Barrel Noteshttp://urbansurvival.com/week.htmLots of readers sent emails in about rain barrels, and yes, Emergency Essentials is out of the 55 gallon size until January. Here's a typical note:
"Sometimes I think I grew up on another planet. I enjoyed your articles today but I must tell you the old rain barrel rules that I grew up with.
There should be a rain barrel under each rain downspout on the back of the house. There should never be rain barrels on the front of the house, that is unseemly. You certainly do not need to put plastic on the roof. When the rain gathers in the barrel, all dirt and stuff will settle out to the bottom and stay there. You must use a pail to take the water off the top of the barrel in the same way you skim cream off of milk. Rain barrel water is used and preferred for washing clothes. Rain barrel water is the softest water that can be had. This was especially important in our neighborhood as all the wells were very hard water. Even in a dry year, and two or three rain barrels you will always have enough water to wash all your clothes. God keeps track of such important things. PS. you will find that your house plants grow especially well on rain barrel water. "Several readers in West Texas (think tumbleweed) reported they live fine on rain water, but think I am too stingy with a one gallon per day ration. Clothes washing, regular bathing, and a lot of dishes can push that to 28-35 gallons a day. True, but if the water mains go out, the well dries up, and you've only got a creek, other tactics apply. Their comments about 1,600 tanks that may be had inexpensively does have me thinking...
A few readers also asked about LPG/Propane generators versus diesel. Me? I would not buy propane. With a diesel, you can run biodiesel in a pinch. And, in event of an earthquake (for the Northwest reader who asked) gas lines would be toast in a quake, so think diesel. Also, LPG/Propane generators need rebuilds more often than diesels, or so I'm told. This is because the fuel is dry. Paradoxically, the carbon in diesels does support some top end lubricity

<br>
Here we are in 2006 and the writing is on the wall for a <span

of 1929.<br>
<br>
<a
href="http://www.marketwatch.com/news/story.asp?guid=%7B69D9ABBB%2D0E6D%2D448A%2DB626%2D004D19C722E8%7D&siteid=mktw">On
January 7 China announced it would be shifting the U.S. Dollar OUT of
its huge currency reserves.</a> That means China will be dumping
between $800 Billion and One TRILLION U.S. Dollars on the market.
Experts called it "The Death Blow" to the U.S. Dollar.<br>
<br>
They're getting rid of the Dollar because they see no end in sight to
U.S. Government Deficit Spending and they know all the debt is backed
by NOTHING. So they're getting out of our currency while it is
still worth something. <br>
<br>
WIthin two days of China's announcement, the <a
href="http://news.yahoo.com/s/nm/20060109/bs_nm/markets_precious_dc_4">value
of Gold shot up to $550 an ounce</a>, the highest in 25 years. It
rose because other investors around the world saw what China was doing
and did the same thing. The demand for Gold rose suddenly and so
did it's value. People are dumping the U.S. dollar and the
implications for Americans are terrible. Our economy is in very
real danger of complete collapse!<br>
<br>
This cycle of dumping U.S. Dollars could repeat itself over and over
until nobody wants the U.S. Dollar. When that sad day comes --
and I believe it's coming soon -- America will experience financial
collapse. <br>
<br>
Think I exaggerate? Get this: All OPEC Nations sell oil in Petro
Dollars. The price of oil is linked directly to the U.S. Dollar.
Just before the second "war" with Iraq, Saddam Hussein announced Iraq
would no longer accept U.S. Dollars as payment for oil. He would
only accept Euros. The U.S. attacked and he was gone. <br>
<br>
Guess who is scheduled to do the exact same thing within months?
Iran. Hence, it is no coincidence that Iran is suddenly on the
Bush Administration's radar screen to be attacked. The problem
with Iran is that the rest of the world won't allow us to do this
again. When Iran switches to the EURO, countries around the world
will have further inducement to dump their dollar reserves. In
fact, all countries in Europe will have inducement to dump
dollars beecause they won't need dollars to buy oil anymore!<br>
<br>
Once the "dump-the-dollar" ball gets rolling, nobody around the world
will want our paper currency. Since we barely manufacture
anything in the U.S. anymore, how will we buy anything? Sure, we
feed the world, but if the currency collapses, what stores will survive
or even have food to sell?<br>
<br>
<span style="color: rgb(255, 0, 0);">On February 15, U.S. Congressman

BFD: Bird Flu Day
OK, a little news ahead of time here and pay attention, because this is very important stuff. The Centers for Disease Control will be holding a press conference later today to talk about Pandemic Flu Preparedness. While the whole of their media advisory is located here, the important thing is to notice the topic, and read what they will be talking about:
WHO: Secretary Mike Leavitt, Department of Health and Human Services (via satellite) Dr. Julie Gerberding, Director, CDC Dr. Marty Cetron, Director, CDC Division of Global Migration and Quarantine Dr. Paul E. Jarris, Executive Director, Association of State and Territorial Health Officials (ASTHO)
WHAT: Release of two new initiatives to advance the nation's pandemic influenza preparedness efforts: 1) new PSAs designed to encourage people to learn more about pandemic flu and 2) New CDC guidelines for implementing public health measures and actions in response to a pandemic (i.e. non-pharmaceutical actions such as dismissing students from school, voluntary isolate of ill people, and social distancing measures like teleworking).
WHY: The impact of pandemic influenza extends well beyond health and medical communities into many segments of society. Developing a pandemic influenza vaccine could take several months, and this guidance describes strategies that may lessen the impact of pandemic influenza through the use of public health measures that don't involve vaccines or medications (also called non-pharmaceutical interventions).
For the first time, the new CDC guidelines illustrate how public health recommendations should or may vary depending on the projected severity of a pandemic.
WHEN: Thursday, February 1, 2007 2 PM, ET Brief remarks followed by Q&A
WHERE: CDC 1600 Clifton Rd, Atlanta Building 19, enter via CDC Parkway
I've been telling you for a long time that this ramp up is coming, and in particular, you need to be aware of the web site www.pandemicflu.gov. When you go to this web site, you want to make damn sure to click the tab called "Individual Planning" because we've written about this till we're blue in the fingers, but we'll spell it out again because this obviously hasn't sunk into many heads yet. Read about Social Impacts and Work Disruptions:
Overview
As you plan, it is important to think about the challenges that you might face, particularly if a pandemic is severe. It may take time to find the answers to these challenges. Below are some situations that could be caused by a severe pandemic and possible ways to address them. A checklist and fill-in sheets for family health information and emergency contact information have been prepared to help guide your planning and preparation.
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Social Disruption May Be Widespread
Plan for the possibility that usual services may be disrupted. These could include services provided by hospitals and other health care facilities, banks, stores, restaurants, government offices, and post offices. Prepare backup plans in case public gatherings, such as volunteer meetings and worship services, are canceled. Consider how to care for people with special needs in case the services they rely on are not available.
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Being Able to Work May Be Difficult or Impossible
Find out if you can work from home. Ask your employer about how business will continue during a pandemic. (A Business Pandemic Influenza Planning Checklist is available at www.pandemicflu.gov/plan/business/businesschecklist.html. ) Plan for the possible reduction or loss of income if you are unable to work or your place of employment is closed. Check with your employer or union about leave policies.
There are plenty of implications of this - teachers out of schools, school closing, financial markets collapsing, just a who lot of ugliness. You might want to be ready to go into lock-down at a moments notice as the bird flu shows up in North America. And why might it? Let's sample some headlines:
"New Bird Flu outbreak in Ang thong" Thailand (Asia)
"First human brid flu death confirmed in Nigeria" (Africa)
"Indonesia called "Bird Flue: National Disaster"
"Australian within six months of human flu vaccine stocks.
"Bird flu returns to Hungary (Europe)
Other strains of bird flu also deadly
"Will masks stop bird flu? Students experiment.
Bulgaria tightens bird flu control
New Bird Flu Cases Report in Russia
OK, here's what I think you need to do. First, be aware of what is going on. Secondly, we have positioned ourselves in such a way that we are armed, isolated, and stocked - you might want to consider the same. Third, come up with a family plan. How would you live if suddenly you couldn't go anywhere off your own property for 3-4-weeks?
I'm not being alarmist here - it is just there's a time to be prepared - and with our time-predictive friends seeing restrictions on travel and shortages, that just the same kind of thing that would naturally come with a bird flu outbreak.
Oh yeah, one more thing. Our daily chart of "shortages" (which we've been tracking since ammo shortages came to our attention in March of last year, just hit a new all-time high this morning. If you're not stocking slowly and methodically, you flunk our reader IQ test.

JagDRS - March 23, 2007 09:48 PM (GMT)
the only SOLE that I've been seeing people rave about lately seems to be some kind of special salt meal.
Meanwhile, add ligth bulbs to the list of stuff to start stocking up ASAP, regardless of whether the world house of financial cards should be yanked anytime soon, no matter if Iran breaks out soon or not, regular, plain, old, ordinary incandescent light bulbs are on the way out. These are being phased out, somewhat quietly, afterwhich we'll be left with our friend fluoride and other halogen-like bulbs, natural sunglight, or dark, take your pick. This will be yet another one of those - once they are gone they are gone, things.
CRAIG-OXLEY - March 24, 2007 12:02 AM (GMT)
Well my friend why not simply look to FULL SPECTRUM LIGHT BULBS which are also energy saving at the same time. Far more healthier than both the Energy Saver or typical bulb.
I've noticed some great Torches and alike out there which do not need batteries and work excellently. Noticed Price-Drop TV are now doing a shake version now and then.

If entertainment and recreation is necessary I would prefer CARDS to board games (much like that guy in my screen name Icon). With cards you can make up new games after you get tired of the old ones and you can also make up one player games that don't have to be solitares but cam be based on popular two, three and four player games.
As far as guns go I would prefer modern muzzle loading replicas with a generopus supply of musket and pistol balls, black powder and percussion caps as these types of guns don't require registration under the federal law and the law of most states. In otherwords we are going to have to think Civil War period and early "wild west" (pre peacemaker) period in our survival systems.

Yep Im into them civil war era weapons, got a few hangin around here, six muzzle loaders 50 and 54 cal. two 1873 winchester rifles and one 1860 henry rifle. all black powder. great last resort arms, but man o man I would not enjoy a shoot out against superior fire power with them guns, Guess I will just wait till I see the Whites of their eyes before tripping the trigger. as far as confiscation goes if we get to that well the civil war guns will be taken as well.

Dang! Guns are illegal in most of Europe + I don't have any fire arm skills.

Meets Mr. Katana for sure! :ph43r:
Too bad I don't own a property or live in the woods like wolveshater cause paying the rent and getting evicted would be my first problem when the system collapses.
wolveshater - June 9, 2007 05:17 PM (GMT)
Lost Soul can you have a bow and arrows ? Maybe I post instructions soon on how to make them. I could even ship ya a breakdown 50 pound long bow with strings, all wooden, then you must make your arrows and fletches, but a broad sword is a beautiful thing. or an AXE. ha ha. I shoot long bow and compounds as well. in the darkness with bow you are a force to be reckoned with my friend. ancient knowledge is still invaluable.
I could make a firearms master of you all in a month, but listen up, research the fire arms that your local police have and military. because when this shit comes down you can take their weapon and use it against them. And of course there are the arts of hand to hand self defence. learn it, we will need it one fine day. Karate, Jujitsu, are my arts of choice. I have made spears, and have them scattered about. I hope every body is stocking up on Shelled hemp seeds, this food is most important for survival, more than any other. Hemp seed and water and you live very long time. :D
Atilan - June 9, 2007 05:28 PM (GMT)
Wolveshater - that's a convincing idea! Because in my country all fire arms are only allowed with registration, thus far I have only some good knives... but I feel inferior in terms of self-defence B)
Is there a good book about how to build bow and arrows or is there a product on the market you would suggest? Thanks in advance, Atilan.

You will get much pleasure from Archery, and the more you practice the more you will be amazed at how adept with this tool you can and will become.

| Lost Soul can you have a bow and arrows ? |
That is legal as far as I know if it is to be used as sportsequipment.
I can forget about guns because guncontrol in Belgium has been tightened since that schizoid maniac 'Hans van Temse' started a shooting spree in Antwerp killing a 2 year old and her nanny.
I really must upgrade my knowledge on survival methodes.
Thnx for the info wolveshater, if you got more on this subject it will be much appreciated!
One thing is for damn sure!
The only way they stick me in a camp is in a bodybag!

I actually had some archery in sixth-grade camp way back in 1985, didn't do too badly.
My husband has a gun, and there's a Fin Feather & Fur around here that has a shooting range...probably leave the little tyke with his aunt or someone and go there and practice.

Wet pack is the cheapist and quickest way to put away food, check the cans to find out what else is in it . I was a FEMA instructor back in the 80's ,they had an excellant course I used to give to civilians, which has long since dissapeared. Most people don't have the cash to put away quality food, best to can it youre self and most of my southern friends do. Have youre food, people always go for the perishables firts as they think things will settle soon as they usually do. I have worked tonado's , hurricanes, floods as a Soldier, better to have youre stuff , then to have someone to give it to you, things are not the same now as then. Make prepardness a habbit and you won't get caught short, you gals do the food buying together so you get better deals. Dehydrated is very good, but also very expensive . Water is always a problem in a dissater , the berkfeld is great, but expensive. eagle Springs out of Daytona Beach , Florida makes a filter they call the Missions filter, in which have been used for many years, with out sickness. If youre churc buys them , they are half price. I have two, my two weathy buddies bouht a couple of pallets of them to give to poor friends. they are excellant and afordable. The dollar tree dollar store has a good little book on emergencies that will help. More later Iam currently trying to write a bopok on the subject"Poor Man's Prepardness".

Any particular kind of hempseed, wolveshater?
In Holland I can buy all the hempseeds I want,
Only problem is, there are lots of varieties and the seeds are mainly cultivated for the high THC Values in the flowers later on.

They should be the shelled hemp seed for eating, check www.nutiva.com then you get the idea.
Those Holland hemp seeds are great to grow some kickass buds for smoking, and brownies but dont try to leave Holland with them, I hear that can get ya in camp faster. :P

Don't worry about me I live close to the border. I know all the escape routes, smuggled that stuff into Belgium for years. B)
Made a few narrow escapes with half a kilo. :D
Even cultivated it indoors!
Eventually I stopped smoking it and lost interest in the matter.
I still know my suppliers, routes, etc...
I think It's allowed to be sold in fishing-equipmentstores overhere.
It has no THC vallue at all(yeps industrial hemp), it's for feeding the fish. :P
