Hi Guys
Apart from you playing at the Smiths Convention in Liverpool on 29 April, can you tell me what else is happening there? i.e. during the day at the event.
Have not been able to find out anything else from other sources (Moz-solo site, etc) and don't want to make the trip over from Leeds in the day if there is little of interest that I can't get elsewhere.
Cheers
Mike
Hi Mike,
There's some kind of Smiths/Morrissey record fair there I believe. We don't know too much about it either to be honest.
We'll also be playing 2 sets (an afternoon matinee & an evening set.) So you get 2 gigs for the price of one. There is also a support band, with the intriguing name "Fish on a Stick".
Sorry we don't have any more details as yet, but keep an eye on the site, we'll publish more info if we get it.
cheers, Chris
Chris
Thanks for this. After speaking to organisers only yesterday (Thursday), I've decided not to venture across to liverpool from Leeds as they don't sound very well organised.
When I asked what else there is apart from "3 tribute bands", the response was "err, a stall, we think, but you need to phone back after 5 on Friday", as no more details until then. Not good for those of us who need to arrange overnight childcare - and hardly what I'd call a 'convention'.
Hope I'm wrong and hope the gig goes well, but the 'offer' wasn't enticing enough in view of the plans I needed to make.
All the best
Mike
Hi Chris,
Thanks for your feedback. Perhaps the event has oversold itself as a convention. Nonetheless the opportunity to see The Smyths play THOSE SONGS in somewhere as legendary as The Cavern has got to be worthwhile. We understand that tickets sales are very good and we are looking forward to playing to the good folk of Liverpool.
If you're looking for more than just a great gig (which we always aim to deliver) then our gig in Oldham on Sunday offers the "Meat is Murder BBQ" and a Smiths/Morrissey fancy dress. I have to say I'm looking forward to being upstaged!
