Almost a secret gig!

My first experience of The Smyths and I was absolutely blown away.

Superb performance from everyone on stage and a great response from the small, but enthusiastic crowd. The tunes were reproduced very faithfully and I was mightily impressed with "How Soon Is Now", plus a storming version of "The Queen Is Dead".

A very singles-heavy set, but some gems of album tracks thrown in, plus a fantastic "These Things Take Time", along with Morrissey's stronger solo singles.

Hope the small-ish turnout didn't put you off returning to Newcastle again.

totally agree - Morissey on Monday, Smyths on Tuesday...what a great start to the week :) I think I have danced my knees down to the ground over the last 48 hours...

Fantastic nite, totally enjoyed it, there was 5 of us & thought it was even better than the Studio on the 24th, which was another brilliant set, from the Smyths.

Hope to see you in the New Year lads, thanks for making the effort to travel on a wet Tuesday.

We will see if we can get the 2 charvers on the back of the 63 bus, to come to the next gig in Newcastle to see what their missing!!

All the best

Like said in previous messages, it was a great compliment to monday at the arena, coming to see the smyths the following evening. im only 19 so never got to experience the smiths first hand, but the music is terrific and the smyths do them justice. think we will be travelling down to leeds in february on a jolly day outing to see yous again.

good balance of songs, not too many from morrisseys solo days, although i love him. i loved the last of the famous international playboys and irish blood, but william it was really nothing made my night, as usual...my favourite!
