Also, does anyone know if Funimation plans to redo the butchered East Blue and Baroque Works sagas once 4Kids's liscence runs out (in 2009 I think)?

I doubt it, iirc Funi is starting from around the Arabasta arc =/ Wish they could start from the floating restaurant arc and end at Arabasta, those are the only parts of OP I care about

i know they want to do the whole thing
i cant wait til all the Water 7 goodness
from AoKiji to Franky to freaking Rob Lucci!!!

but for now they start at 144 with Bellamy
he gets pounded spectacularly

next yr they release One Piece Movie 8 which is the Alabasta arc remake
re-animated and compressed into a movie

I somewhat agree, the Baroque Works saga was by far my favorite. Grr... stupid 4Kids, friggin ruined the whole thing with the retarded accents and overediting... >:(
I like the Skypiea saga and all, but for story, character development, and villains, Baroque Works saga ftw!
If Funimation doesn't botch it up, I just want them to do the whole thing over again and stick it out until the end, you know, if it ever actually does end...

eh I dunno, Skypiea got to the "lol are they still on Namek?" point pretty quickly and the villian wasn't as interesting compared to previous ones. But yeah Baroque Works is definitly OP's high point though I have a soft spot in my heart for the Arlong arc

Just watched last night's new dub. I mostly got used to the old dub voices, so can't claim to be very unbiased(and haven't watched it subtitled yet). Mainly though, will have to give the new actors some time to get into their roles properly.

My complaints(for now, will probably change my mind after more episodes)
- I kind of liked Zoro/Zolo's old voice better- he had a certain ability to express anger well. Then again, haven't seen any truly angry moments yet.
- Chopper's voice is even higher pitched, which is generally a pet peeve of mine. And his large form maintains the same voice- it makes sense for his large form to have a deeper voice.

I think the actors just need more time to be able to get out the range of emotions One Piece episodes tend to swing through(fierce anger, zaniness, lovestruck, etc).

ive only heard the one clip T-T
but Chopper should def retain his high voice when he's big
that way he is thought of as the same character no matter how he looks
otherwise he's like Jekyll and Hyde and thats not rite

I really like the translated opening. I'm not fond of Zoro and Sanji's voices, but I can give the VAs a chance to grow into their new roles. Nami, Robin, and Usopp sound perfect, and while others may disagree, I like Chopper's voice. He's supposed to sound cute, even when big. Luffy sounded a bit too much like his old voice at first, but once I realized that he's not yelling all the time, I accepted it.
