Title: A-001:: New Beginings...?
Description: [ Astral's laughing her way to the Lab~]

AipomStar - November 17, 2008 12:20 AM (GMT)
It was a new beginning. A new start....

Yet, she still felt like she was running from the past. It made her hesitate as she entered the lab, the nauseating reminder she couldn't run from nothing made the hybrid feel dizzy.

Keep moving! Your dreams aren't going to wait for you forever... She thought to herself, pressing forward and taking a few more cautious steps into the lab, Just have to figure out what my goals are, where I'd headed, and what's ahead...

Yet, Astral couldn't help shake the feeling she was still being followed. ... But then, when the building had the unmistakable smell of antisepticised hospital halls… and that never boded well. By the time her head and her heart had finished arguing against leaving or staying, an assistant or the professor would see her… staring nervously at the back wall like it was an attacking Gyarados…

The Lab Assistant heard the faint 'swoosh' of the Lab's automatic doors opening, accompanied by the sound of apprehensive footfalls clacking against cheap linoleum. The Assistant didn't have to lift a finger to know who it was that had just entered, for he'd heard that sound many times before. The sounds belonged to a trainer-to-be.

Sighing, he rose from his swivel chair, nearly knocking over his coffee mug in the process. Quickly stabilizing the cup, the Assistant scuttled out to greet the newest addition to the pokémon world. His shock wasn't large when he found the girl to be both human and Aipom - he'd seen them before; what was the term? Pokémorph. An Aipom pokémorph.

The look on her face wasn't foreign, either, for every one of her kind the clumsy Assistant had witnessed looked the same; like they had been placed in an alien world and were scared of what they saw, or what they saw would do to them - what they thought of them. A pang of pity twisted the Assistant's gut into knots.

"Good morning, dear," he began pragmatically, straightening his bulky, white lab coat. "The posters are to your right, if you need them."

He shot the girl a quick, business-like smile, pushing thick black-framed glasses higher up onto the bridge of his nose. The Lab Assistant felt bad scrutinizing the creature like she was an exotic species of pokémon, but sometimes he couldn't help but be curious.

Astral nearly jumped at the sound of footsteps approaching, and her tail flicked back and forth as the person approaching spoke, “Good morning, dear.” Her eyes darted towards the Assistant, and she blinked. The sight of someone in a lab-coat wasn’t a good way to start the morning, for a few reasons… And she avoided his eyes, rather mute to the fact he was observing her.

“Morning.” She mumbled shortly before turning her eyes to the four posters hanging to the right of her. The first was vibrantly labeled as ‘Trainer’, displaying a total of four pokemon. Ponyta, Piplup, Mareep, and Chikorita: to be exact. Well, her aim wasn’t geared towards battling and training all that much. She wanted to have fun, and bring out the potential and shine in her pokemon…

Even if the thought of an Ampharos or Empoleon on her team was a beautiful one…

The next declared Coordinator. For a moment she scanned the list, face slowly changing from the frightened look she’d been seemingly stuck onto, to a brighter outlook. For, this had to be her calling. Coordinators took the pokemon they trained and worked on showing their true potential, making them shine in contests and battles. It was about the glam and glitter, but most of all what pokemon could truly be!

At least that’s what her perspective on the profession was. Now, onto her choices.

Eevee… It was cute, for sure. But, for a beginner coordinator, she could imagine how hard it would be to show off this cute brute’s potential with Eevee’s limited move-pool, in a contest. It would have to evolve for certain before it could really show off. Astral was hardly the patient type either.

Pichu… It had good qualities over all, and an electric type would come in handy in all challenges to come… It also evolved into Raichu in the end, also a powerful thing going towards Astral’s consideration.. Perhaps she’d look at the other choices really quick.

Cleffa. A fellow normal type. Sturdy, cute, and it held some potential as a good partner. Cleffable was a admirable third form pokemon as well…

Dratini: The dragon pokemon would take the cake. Beautiful, good potential, and… Astral had a secret affinity for the first two hundred pokemon in the Pokedex. Astral could think of a few good moves and combinations that she’d love to see this pokemon pull off in a contest master battle. Dratini was certainly a high contender, for it’s over all power and it‘s ability to hold eyes on it.

“I’m going for Coordinator.” Astral briefly announced towards the assistant with a feable smile, “I’m thinking a Dratini… Female if available?” She’d certainly shaken off her first-timer fright rather fast…
Perhaps seeing a plan laid out in front of her eyes, had helped her get over that.

[[Blech. I'm becoming museless. XDD]]

"Here," he handed over a Pokeball labeled clearly with a blue sharpie. It said 'Dratini' on it, and had a faint bluish-white tinge to it. Customized, didn't it seem? He then looked at the girl with a smile on his face. "Coordinators are a great idea," he told her happily. Coordinators really were a great. They seemed to amount to quite a bit. And they were pretty useful around, too. Contests were never easy, and they had lots of skill up their sleeves.

He turned around, glaring as his computer as he furiously typed in who had gotten what. It wasn't easy to notice what he was doing. Except that he smiled grimly during the whole time. Now who wouldn't notice that?

[It happens to everyone at some time~
>> Such as I two days ago. ]

She acepted the pokeball with a small-smile, rolling the smooth metal exterior around in her hands. "Thank you." Astral murmered, "For your kind words..." Her newest partner would be a great asset to the team she had plans to put together.
The Dratini would be in good hands.

Trying to figure what exactly he was doing, was a bit troublesome. She knew that many of the labs kept records of the pokemon they gave out to and whom... But- how he knew her name, Astral wouldn't be able to fathom, for she hadn't told him. Unless he was simply typing something along the lines of... 'Coordinator, Dratini'... or something like it. Or perhaps she was totally wrong about what he was doing...

"Uhm...?"
