Title: One of my first 'odd' events!

Digitalart - August 15, 2007 07:37 PM (GMT)
Quite an unusual and far fetched story of an experience I went through when I was in my teens, I would be interested in peoples views and if they have had anything so strong or similar!

A little background.
Well in my early teens my father was very ill, and when I was 15 we found out he only had about another 2 months at the most to live, (this was 16 years ago btw so I'm perfectly OK talking and discussing this) well I remember it was the last school week before summer shutdown and my mother decided to bring my father home to die basically, be it 1 week or 8.

The day before he was due to be brought home I had a dream, that my mother would set up his bedroom downstairs in the front living room, I dreamt where the bed would be put, the TV, etc etc the whole room layout, Including a get well card on the cabinet with purple flowers on the front of the card. I got up the following morning and went to school, when I arrived home I nearly passed out because everything was set out exactly how I had dreamed it.

Ok so you may say I may have heard my mother talking about it and gone to bed not really realizing what I had heard, this I can accept, but what is odd it the get well card - which had been delivered to our house in the daytime while I was in school, the same card that had been in my dream the night before, which was now placed in the same spot as in my dream!

Has anyone else had anything like that happen ? and what conclusions or logical explanation did you come to if any?

Hi,

I have had 2 or three, what seem to be "pre-cognitive" dreams and I have absolutely no explanation whatsoever as to why we have them or how they come through.

Maybe just every now and again, we are able to tap into the other 90% of our brain that we don't use. Who knows what special powers we would have if we could access the rest of our brain all the time.

My latest dream was only last week. Our cat (Basil) went missing on Wednesday morning. So wednesday night & Thursday night I went looking for him and shouted him, but no sign of him.

""Thursday night I dreamt that I was looking out of our patio door and my husband came through the gate at the bottom of the garden and walked over the grass up to the patio with Basil in his arms.""

Friday evening, hubby comes home and asks if there is any news of Basil - I said no. He said, he's not coming back is he. and I replied I don't know.

So, hubby goes to have another look for him and low and behold "I was looking out of our patio door and my husband came through the gate at the bottom of the garden and walked over the grass up to the patio with Basil in his arms." exactly as he had in my dream!!

Again, no explanations - could be just coincidence because I wanted him back so much that the dream was exactly as it really happened.

Maybe my dreamed initiated him being found by my husband - maybe if I hadn't dreamed it, he wouldn't have been found - who knows??

Hi Digitalart and Julia,

I dont personally remember dreams very often and when i do it's usually abit nightmareish, not relating to anything in particular, i think your accounts are extraordinary, i understand what your saying Julia about the brain being capable of things we havent even discovered yet, but my feeling is that we are being given this detail by a greater power, i dont think our brain does it all by itself, and yes i know i have nothing to back my statement up.

My sister who is in the throws of divorce bought two cats over to the U.K. from Cyprus, she is now settled in Grimsby, three weeks into them being here one of them disappeared and hasent been seen since, this was last year. Big Sis had a dream of the missing cat, it was covered in blood and grey in appearance normally it's colouring was a brown tortoise shell, the body has never been found dead or alive, nothing has been established through advertising the missing cat or by word of mouth, so is still a mystery, but i do wonder if she has already been given the answer through her dream.

Thank you for sharing your story with us Digitalart.....

I have to admit that I've had what appears to have been mildly precognitive dreams in the past - though they are absolutely stunning in their sheer blandness.....

I once dreamed of seeing a friend, who then lived in Spain, walking down the High Street in Willenhall where I live. As I looked across at him - utterly surprised - he said to me: "See, I told you I'd be coming back...."

Either the next day, or a couple of days later, I recieved word from him saying that he was indeed coming back to live in England!!

If there was anything paranormal to this matter - why in hell would the 'powers that be' need to tell me something so, well, basically boring!!!???

Regards,

Nick ;)

Hehe its interested to hear other peoples encounters, very interesting lol :)

One time about 4 years ago I was in work and on of my work friends got a phone call from her mother saying that some mail had arrived for her, off the cuff remark I said ahh it's to tell your routine check is now due (Women will know what I mean when I say that thing starting with S!)

Well she phoned her mum back and asked her to open the envelope so she did and I was 100% spot on! lol very weird hehe

A couple of small things have often happened like that very odd indeed lol.

Hi
my sister has had a few "pre-cog" dreams, the first 2 were just random, she dreamed once that an award winning hairdresser died,to find the next day...he had, then a coach full of senior citizens died on a local motorway, which they did.
More recently, and the most upsetting of all,let me start at the beginning,
We visited her in france about 4 weeks ago,it was my 1st time on a plane in 20 years,I wasn't scared, but my daughter was terrified(as I also found out,so was my sis)We got there, had a fab time out on the boat with my nephew showing us his new fabulous talent of wakeboarding, learned to him by his mate Ryan.
Even after leaving,my sis still got a bit antsy about our airplane leaving.
Her friend then came to visit, her son and husband were gonna meet them a day later because her son was entering a wakeboard competition.
They died on their way to join them 2 weeks ago on sunday. In an airplane. She'd had dreams of an airplane.but couldn't recall what.
If you've seen it in your local paper, the funeral is on Tuesday. They're all going to be wearing surfing outfits, sunglasses and hats.
R.I.P Ryan.xxxx

Hi Cal,
My sister only put the two things together(the feelings and dreams) after the incident,so she's trying to convince herself that maybe she didn't feel it at all,If that makes sense?
After all,It is a bit close to home(in a personal sense)and she's had a hard time because she was with her friend when she received the news. How do you console someone when their world has been shattered?
But that's obviously not a patch on what the poor friend is going through.

Hi Leisa,

Your Sister has to do whatever helps her in this situation, her priority would be her friend, she doesnt have to tell her friend what her observations were, it's not really important, i hope everyone feels better soon.
