Title: spies
Description: there watching us
t-shane - January 2, 2007 03:55 AM (GMT)
First of all I’m not crazy
I think the people making jp4 are watching us. They’re watching our post and using them for the movie. Like who will be the main dinosaur and other stuff. They’re probably checking all the jp sites. they might even be stealing our jp4 stories.
am i crazy :RollEyes
Dino_Slayer - January 2, 2007 02:04 PM (GMT)
To me it doesn't matter one bit if they're stealing our ideas as long as we get a movie worth watching. :P
Dilophosaurus - January 2, 2007 06:53 PM (GMT)
That's a little paranoid but an interesting thought. Perhaps they'll take one of the ideas that are good and make it into a movie.?
t-shane - January 2, 2007 08:58 PM (GMT)
:) That is exactly what I was thinking.
sriver04 - January 3, 2007 03:19 AM (GMT)
actually, i have ALWAYS hoped that they are watching the sites. so they can see what jp3 and some of its ideas impacted the jp community. so they can learn from their mistakes, and not mess it up on jp4. I really do hope they are. There are many great ideas running about in these sites, and they shold be paying attention. But i dont really think they are. I really wish there was a " looking around suspisiously" smilie......just imagine one. :) :lol
EyeofGenesis - January 3, 2007 05:17 AM (GMT)
I wouldn't call people that are associated with the JPIV project "spies". :hah It's not like they're lurking in the wee hours of the morning under the cloak of "guest" with an IP scrambler and hurriedly scribbling down ideas on a notepad before quickly closing the browser. Or are they...? :okaaaay
Seriously though, when you think about it, why would they take the time to visit online JP communities? Even the largest JP community on the Internet holds an insignificant number of movie goers compared to the number of people that'll end up going to see JPIV.
By borrowing ideas from an online fanbase that will be inconsequential to the final profits the producers will be taking a chance that they will make a movie that only appeals to the fans and not the mainstream public.
Which, when you think about it, is actually good, but only for us and not the studio. Like with everything else in the world, it's all about the money - and the best way to make money on a movie is to make it appeal to the broadest base of mainstream movie goers as possible.
Dino_Slayer - January 3, 2007 03:57 PM (GMT)
In that case we must put more effort to including more of the stuff the major audience wants, more dino action. If that can be done without affecting the depth of the premise there is no way Universal could resist using it.
sriver04 - January 4, 2007 02:14 AM (GMT)
well, then that only means we have to get more people to join jp communities!! :Evil :lol Lets get 'em all!!

I really don't think they care what we think. The studio specifically employs people with experience and degrees and expects them to perform their duties to the best of their abilities. I doubt the studio would want those people fishing ideas off of message boards for the simple reason that Internet opinions do not equal mainstream opinions. It's like I said in my last post, even the largest JP websites on the Internet attract an insignificant number of fans compared to the number of people that will turn out for JPIV. They aren't going to consider what we have to say.

Good luck with your life-long quest! :ThumbsUp We'll still be here when you get back from accomplishing that... even if we are in the process of decomposing! :hah
Dino_Slayer - January 6, 2007 12:25 PM (GMT)
You got a point, actually. This is why I believe they no longer make films for dedicated fans, atleast grown up.
sriver04 - January 7, 2007 06:32 AM (GMT)
:lol damn, life-long? im out. :WalkAway
arboldin - January 22, 2007 02:18 AM (GMT)
I highly doubt that Hollywood is wtaching us for ideas. They'll probably hire some egotistical fanstasy/Sci - Fi author then go to any website or forum, much less W2JP. No offense guys, but it doesn't seem realistic.
sriver04 - January 24, 2007 12:12 AM (GMT)
Yeah, its not realistic. But it be cool. :hah
EyeofGenesis - January 24, 2007 05:34 AM (GMT)
Then again... any one of us could secretly work for the studio. Hmmm....
You never know... appearances are deceiving, after all! If a simple and wacky game show host like Chuck Barris could also be a trained CIA assassin, than any one of us could be a part of something well beyond imagination. :Woah

Perhaps you are the one we should throw to the raptors. :Evil

*looks around again* of course not. :RollEyes :)

Nah, Dino_Slayer is the most suspicious-looking.
EyeofGenesis - April 10, 2007 03:51 AM (GMT)
You're one to talk. :hah :P Anyone with the word "eye" in their name must be spying on something for someone.

I wished(not really). :P
Seriously, it doesn't matter if they do watch all these fan sites because none of our ideas will most definitely be used, because:
A) We're too mixed with opinions regarding the dinosaurs and storylines.
B) Most of our society's ideas are rubbish.
C) Our ideas mostly don't satisfy the major moviegoing audience that we're only a small fraction of.
D) They turned their backs to original JP fans a long ago, nowadays concentrating on young brats with no knowledge about anything JP related.
E) Spielberg is no longer enthusiastic about JP nor it's fans.
I think that makes plenty of reasons.

Well said. If we're lucky we'll get a remake of Jurassic Park.

Dino_Slayer, I think you just made a very convincing case for why JPIV shouldn't see the light of day. :frown

It's too soon for a remake. Although the thought of going back and re-doing the first movie is sort of appealing. I'd like to see several scenes from the novel that were not considered/left out in the original movie integrated into the remake.
Then again, who knows how much they might butcher the original in doing a remake. :frown
Capt_Jim - April 11, 2007 03:02 AM (GMT)
I can't think of an alternate meaning of your name, unless it's the center of genesis or..something. Damn.

Eye of Genesis means Eye of Beginning or Eye of Creation. A very suspicious name, especially since it could mean that you started this site right after JP/// to get ideas for JPIV!
YES!!! I'VE CAUGHT YOU!!!! AHAHAHAHAHAHGJFAGIEO[QTUSDSVCM, CVDJGKLF'!!!

Well, I did open W2JP five days after JP/// opened in U.S. theaters. ;) Draw whatever conclusions you desire from that, but I won't confirm any of them. :P
