Dark red paws grazed the earth, and bright green orbs steadily shone in the light of the moon high in the night sky. Foxpaw was racing at top speeds through the slopes that rose out of the ground. He loved to be out in the night air, when everything and everyone was quiet and not a sound could be heard, exept the soft sound of his pads hitting the earth as he raced under the midnight stars. He always said that there was a certain smell to the night, it was very much different than the day smell it was calm and quiet and so soft. It wasn't really a smell, it was rather a feeling, the way it made him feel, like he could soar over the highest clouds and ride on the back of an eagle.
He came to a slow stop to catch his breath, and to maybe gaze up at Starclan. He always felt at home with them high above his head, and he felt that there was nothing another cat could do to him when they were near. His great green orbs were glowing in the soft moon-light that peered behind the clouds that seemed to sheild the moons breath-taking beauty. His head was clear and yet full of so many thoughts, and it was hard to explain how he felt. He loved his clan but there was something, that just tugged at him, something that told him to leave and to find a place all his own. He would always decide to push the feeling aside and to just live his life as it was meant to be. In Windclan.
He lifted himself to his paws and licked a run-away hair that was swirling in his face. His tassel twitched with anticipation and energy as he felt a soft breeze ruffled his fur and lifted his spirits higher than and eagle soars. He took in a huge breath of air and he began to run again. Some would say that he looked rather strange, but he would only look at them and say they were strange not to see how beautiful the night is, and that a run would be just great for them. He didn't care what others said about him he had his opinion and they had theirs and he would not say anything to get them to change their minds. He was a great cat and yet he still had that empty feeling inside and he could not push it away, no matter how hard he tried. He closed his eyes,"I have to find out what I am supposed to do, and I have to get rid of this feeling," he thought to himself.
