Physical Description: Lucy is around 5'3" tall with an average build. Shes at that age where her body is beginning to gain womanly curves, and boys often give her second glances in the halls. She has straight brown hair that comes just past her shoulders, brown eyes, and very light freckles across her nose. She typically wears comfortable, free flowing clothing (dresses, skits, loose slacks and such) she also likes jewelry and often wears lots of tacky looking bracelets and earrings.
Personality Description: Shes a bit on the shy side, and blushes easily, but doesn't take too long to open up to people once they take the time to get to know her. She procrastinates a lot, and often puts important things, like homework, off until the last minute. Despite this fact, she still manages to get by in her classes and always gets her work done on time. Shes very friendly but not very popular due to her shyness. Her favorite color is purple, and she loves Bertie Botts pepper flavored beans.
History (at least 100 words): Lucille Penelope Abernethy was born in London to Laura (a witch) and Marcus (a muggle) Abernethy. Her father knew that his wife was a witch, and seemed fine with it in the beginning. Things began to go downhill when Lucy turned 3, and her mother and father began to grow apart, they divorced before Lucy's 4th birthday. A year later Lucy's mother remarried a wizard named Chris Shunpike (paternal uncle of Stan Shunpike). When Lucy was 13 her parents had another child and Lucy was gifted with a baby sister named Elizabeth Marie.
Lucy had a happy childhood, growing up in a wizarding family, she learned a lot about magic and the ways of the wizarding world, long before she ever set foot in Hogwarts. She's also had a crush on her cousin (hes really her step cousin, so they're not blood related) Stan since she was 10 years old.
Roleplay sample (Min. 200 words and it HAS to be for the Character you are
applying for): Lucy slowly made her way back to her common room, books clutched tightly to her chest, and head down, avoiding eye contact with anyone in the halls. She didn't like it when people looked at her, and it was even worse when she caught them looking. It made her blush, and she hated to blush. So whenever she'd walk somewhere, she'd try her best not to make eye contact with anyone. She wasn't feeling particularly well that day, and was rushing to get to her dormitory so she could rest a bit before her next class.
Finding her house common room full, she quickly headed through towards her room. Once there, she let her books slide to the floor as she lay across her bed, burying her face in her pillow. She stayed like that for a moment, mumbling things her mother would have had a heart attack over if she heard them, then slowly flipped herself over to lay on her back and closed her eyes. She was startled a moment later by something rather large jumping onto her stomache. Looking down she found her cat, Agamemnon, staring up at her with a small mouse toy in his mouth. "You know you're not a kitten anymore, right?" Lucy scratched the cats head, then took the mouse from him and tossed it across the floor. The cat responded immediately, jumping from his owners lap and darting after the toy. Lucy watched the cat bat the toy mouse around a bit, tossing it into the air and catching it when it came back down. The sight made Lucy smile slightly, but it wasn't enough to really cheer her up.
She hadn't been truly happy since she first heard her cousin Stan had been arrested. Every day she received letters from her mum, keeping her up to date on everything she and Lucy's step father were doing to appeal to the Ministry for Stans release. But so far their efforts had been in vain. Lucy had always been very close to her cousin, and his arrest had devastated her. Not only that, it made her angry.. very angry. She hated the Ministry for what they had done. Family was the most important thing to Lucy. And even if Stan wasn't a blood relative, he was still family, and thats all that mattered. Having any member of her family, especially someone she was close to, taking away and thrown in prison, was more than she could stand. What if they never released him? What if he died in there and she never saw him again?
Agamemnon, sensing his masters distress, hopped onto her again and began to purr. Lucy sighed and patted the cats head. "Why can't I be happy, Aggie?" Lucy asked her pet "I wish I could just put the entire matter out of my mind, but then I'd feel like I had stopped caring, and that would make me feel worse." The cat began to purr louder, as if letting the girl know that things would work out somehow. "I hope things get better.. I really do." She closed her eyes again, listing to the sound of the cat purring, and trying to put the bad thoughts out of her mind.
This was a really hard sort for me. Hufflepuff, I guess.
