Title: Carling Cup 7/11

TheCrazy58 - November 7, 2006 07:46 PM (GMT)
Tuesday, 07 November 2006

Chesterfield v Charlton, 19:45
Notts County v Wycombe, 19:45
Southend v Man Utd, 20:00
Watford v Newcastle, 19:45

Predictions for giant killings? I'd say Chesterfield and Watford (well Newcastle are sort of bigger than them ;) ). I wish Southend luck but don't think they have a chance.

TheCrazy58 - November 7, 2006 07:50 PM (GMT)
Goals galore already in 1st five minutes

Chesterfield 1 Charlton 0

Watford - 0 Newcastle - 1 (Sibierski)

michaelthomas89 - November 7, 2006 07:57 PM (GMT)
Fergie's put a very strong team out, clearly wants no mistakes.

Charlton losing

TheCrazy58 - November 7, 2006 07:58 PM (GMT)
mt89, happy birthday - not celebrating?

COME ON SOUTHEND :scarf:

Would be amazing if we could beat them... We're dominating apparently...

I say we as I live in Southend, 10 minutes from the stadium :D :D

TheCrazy58 - November 7, 2006 08:08 PM (GMT)
Yeah they are playing well, certainly not intimidated by the Mancs at all.

ta :D

No, not going out on the tiles. Bonfire night antics (or to be more precise the morning after bonfire night antics ) have kind of put paid to that. Also the fact it's midweek doesn't mean anyone's up for doing that much what with work tomorrow. Just decided to have a quiet one and treat myself to some wine and a Chinese (of which I ate far too much ) :)

TheCrazy58 - November 7, 2006 08:16 PM (GMT)
I've never been a big one for birthdays either, hardly remember my own. Problem is I never remember anyone else's, which isn't particularly clever. I still get my mother and my sister's (whose birthdays are only a couple of days apart) mixed up ;)

I'm kind of the same with my Mum's birthday, I know it's the 16th but can never remember if it's June or July

TheCrazy58 - November 7, 2006 08:28 PM (GMT)

Sky obviously don't take Carling Cup seriously......however I have to say it's (only just) preferable to Colin Murray on Five. Now that is pits.

Oh well Lovejoy'll have to watch Liverpool tomorrow night.

In Lehmanns Terms - November 7, 2006 08:56 PM (GMT)

Lovejoy and Colin Murray :haha: pathetic

TheCrazy58 - November 7, 2006 08:57 PM (GMT)
Chesterfield 2 - 1 up vs Charlton ...... I have to say I feel a bit sorry for Charlton. I've been to the Valley a few times and it's a nice ground.

michaelthomas89 - November 7, 2006 09:04 PM (GMT)
Yes, quite what possessed channel 5 to employ Murray for their football I'll never know.

Actually scrap that, they probably got him because he's cheap.

Wonder what all those Charlton fans who were saying it was time for Curbs to move on, and appoint a new face are thinking now?

TheCrazy58 - November 7, 2006 09:05 PM (GMT)
Southend cheerleaders. Must be freezing.

michaelthomas89 - November 7, 2006 09:07 PM (GMT)
One or two of the cheerleaders looked quite tasty there :hit:

John Barnes must be gutted to have been replaced by Murray.

Well if he didn't talk so fast, some people might be able to understand him. He's still got his football show on 5 though (at about midnight once a week  )

TheCrazy58 - November 7, 2006 09:12 PM (GMT)
Another great save by Flawhatshisname

The most coherent I've heard him was on that New Order song

Ferguson will have to change something soon. Southend look like they might score again.

Another great save by Southend goalie. Buy this man a drink :ale:

O'Shea off, Lee on for Mancs.

TheCrazy58 - November 7, 2006 09:39 PM (GMT)
Come on Southend, only 13 minutes to hold on!

Charlton v Chesterfield and Watford v Newcastle look like going into extra time. Wycome beating Notts County 0 - 1.

Or is it replays now?

TheCrazy58 - November 7, 2006 09:49 PM (GMT)
Hasselbaink puts Charlton ahead 2 - 3 in extra time.

Tomasz Kuszczak would work wonders on a Scrabble board, but in a penalty box he is looking a liability. The Manchester United keeper misses a corner and a mad scramble ensues before the Pole pounces among flying boots to get it at the second attempt

Cristiano Ronaldo is out on the right, the sort of ground Ronald Reagan liked in his political career, and threads a delightful low cross into the box which evades both Wayne Rooney and Alan Smith.

Whats up with the bbc guys re above
