Title: If Hitler Said Sorry Before He Shot Himself

Rudolph The Red Nose Reindeer - November 17, 2006 08:15 AM (GMT)
will he have gone to heaven.

i have a feeling that he would have said sorry before he died and therefore we will be in heaven at the moment because God forgives anyone you says sorry.

Walcott Arsenes (IIH) - November 17, 2006 08:17 AM (GMT)
Jeez, do you really worry about this kind of thing? Do you have nothing better to fill your mind with?

There is no heaven and hell, so therefore, he won't be anywhere. You won't be going to heaven even if there was one, so you needn't worry.

Prove it, HP.

if he'd been a practising Catholic and had confessed his sins ( ) and done his penance, but what the penance is for starting WW2, attempted genocide and
being responsible in no small way for a death toll approaching 50,000,000 people
world-wide, God only knows.

Oh for fucks sake, save me the frelling soppy bible shit. It's a book of morals and fables... are you a fundamentalist or something? Do you take every word literally?

I await Letters' arrival.

It's a belief, not a fact. You can't prove that there is a heaven or hell.

dazthegooner - November 17, 2006 08:29 AM (GMT)
My Grandmother always said the Earth is hell and if your good you go to heaven and if your not you come back as something else.

Letters (TPFKA WWTL@WHL) - November 17, 2006 08:30 AM (GMT)
Someone call?

I believe in heaven and hell and I believe that God will forgive anyone is truly sorry. That, basically, is the heart of the Christian message.

I remember our old minister saying that we might be surprised at who we find in heaven. And who we don't!

So, to answer your original question Harry. I think it's possible.

And you're right, synergetic. It can't be proved. But then hey, not much can be proved absolutely if we're going to go down that road.

He he. That kind off takes the edge off the theory of reincarnation.

Well, yes, to reiterate someone's comments above, if Hitler was a practising Catholic and he sought redemption at the time of his death, then Jesus would have absolved him of his sins (if the Bible is anything to go by).

The Emirates Gallastico - November 17, 2006 08:39 AM (GMT)
Ooh, controversy!

Hell and heaven? Nothing more than a story made up to try and convince little kids to be good... Unfortunately some adults believe it as well :doh1:

If I ran a bookshop, you'd find the bible, etc. in the Mythology section. Harry Potter would be hanging from a lamppost, though.

Harry, I think you should concentrate on enjoying your youth and not worrying about what may/may not happen in the later stages of your life/afterlife.

Live life for now, not what might be. :)

Good point Mistress.

On the subject of Hitler though, what he did and encouraged others to do was evil and I can't see how he can be forgiven if he repented just before he killed himself. I seriously doubt he would mean it anyway.
