OK. I keep getting asked about this so here's a guide to how to put images into your Goonersweb messages

You cannot upload an image directly to this site. If you want to put an image in your email then it has to already be on the web somewhere. If it's an existing image that you've found and would like to put in your post then do the following:

1) Start writing your message in Goonersweb.

2) Open another browser and go to the website with the image you want to put in your post.

3) Right click on the image, a menu will come up.

4) Choose 'Properties' from the menu and you'll get a little window come up telling you info about the image.

5) One of the bits of information you'll see is Address (URL). This tells you the address of the image. This will start with http and most likely end .jpg or .gif

6) Highlight the address, starting at 'http' and ending at most likely '.jpg' or '.gif' - if there is anything after the .jpg or .gif such as a question mark then do NOT highlight it. Ignore anything after the .jpg or .gif

7) Once it's highlighted, copy the address either with Ctrl+Insert or by right clicking with the mouse and choosing 'Copy'.

8) Go back to Goonersweb where you were writing your message.

9) Click the IMG button which is above the box where you write your message.

10) This will pop up a box asking you to put in the URL. This will already have 'http://' in it.

11) Highlight the text http:// and then Paste in the URL of the image you copied from before, either by doing Shift+Insert or right clicking and doing 'Paste'.

12) Make sure you don't have http in twice. The address should be something like:
http://www.arsenal.com/images/players/1619.jpg

13) Click OK. This will put in the image link. Write the rest of your message.

It's probably best to preview the post to make sure the image has come out OK before you post it, especially if you're unsure about any of the above.

Note: The address of this image when you do properties DOES have the question mark after it. As stated above, do NOT highlight that when you copy the address.


Posting Your Own Images

If you want to post your own images, like a photo of yourself for example, then you need to upload it first to a site such as imageshack or Photobucket. Link to Photobucket, which I use, here:

If you haven't already, create an account and upload the images you want to post. When you browse your images you'll see three links under each called Url, Tag and Img. Highlight the Img text and copy it (Ctrl+Insert or right click with mouse and 'Copy')
This text can be copied straight into a Goonersweb message, you do not need to use the IMG button. Paste it into your message with Shift+Insert or mouse right click and 'Paste'.

It is so funny when the self-righteous mac lovers can't do it and blame the rest of the world for their troubles. I know Microsoft stuff has the ripped-off Borg feel to some of its features but the Mac brigade banging on about their own wonderful stuff is such a pain in the arse.

In any case, its the 'features' of Microsoft that help to keep me in work. If it really did all it claimed, I would not be needed because a child of 3 could set everything up and it would all work perfectly all of the time. Thank god the programmers at Microsoft are such a bunch of tossers. ;)

Yep, using a Mac. But tell me this- do PCs have their own remote controls? Do they let you watch Youtube-like videos of the photos you take on your Hols? Do they give you Itunes for free? THAT's why we go on about them :dance:
