Title: Gooooners

Juan Nilto - April 17, 2007 07:23 PM (GMT)
Hi ya 606 and Afterhours veteran reporting for duty

From 606 I remember Master Livers, Cal Gooner, Lil Mo Funk, Voice of Raison, Nev, Milk From a Cow, the irreplacable Bored at Work and more unfortunately, Miguel, Sir Jack, Lukewarm and a lot of other prize numpties.

Was a mod on AHFC for the Arsenal members but to be honest the atmosphere was family enclosure, I've heard this is more North Bank RIP

I have seen all Arsenal's World Cup winners wear the Red and White and can remember how shit we were in the past. The current crop of players are without doubt the future.

Juan :ninja:

Nice introduction.

:good:

Not sure where the others you have mentioned have dissapeared to, but not here anyway...however Sir Jack is on here.

Unfortunately not.

We've had a real dearth of 606 numpties, well we did have Miguel but he was banned on the same day he registered.

Fair play - but he's just an idiot - Jack think's he's all that but is in fact a odious grammar school oik, which is why he lasted for all of 3 days on AHFC

He's not actually.
He went to the same school as I did, which isn't actually a grammar school.
Although it liked to think it was, back in my day.

We were taught things like how "think's" doesn't have an apostrophe in.

Hello, and welcome. And sod you for not remembering me from 606.

Actually...way back on 606 I did sign up to AHFC, people kept going on about it.
Somehow I couldn't get on with it. Not sure why.
I always get the impression the mods were uber-strict.

I understand you don't want it to descend into 606-style anarchy, but you can go too far the other way.

Anyway, welcome to GW where we try to keep the balance between the two

Crushing Bore - April 18, 2007 06:21 AM (GMT)
Welcome Juan.

I remember you from 606 and AHFC. I was Bad Badger on both but I've adopted the name they call me on here, and you may well agree!

I still have a wander over to AHFC and 606 but the magic is gone - apart from Magic Roundabout of course. I don't think I've posted once on there since getting a warning from the Mad Monk because I called a Manc a "Manc", as it's a term of abuse, not an abbreviation of Mancunian. :yikes:

I also got slapped for submitting a considered and reasoned article questioning why there was not one Chelsea fan who thought buying the league was bad, because I would have been well peed off if RA had bought Arsenal and we'd gone the same way. That was pretty much my last contri.

I was one of the original group who joined AHFC at the beginning although it started well, the over the top political correctness of the mods got the better of me. As for the old 606ers on there, I remember "Jackie" fondly but she sort of disappeared about 4 years ago and was never seen again.

As for this place, as someone who also remembers the likes of Terry Mancini. Jeff Blockley and Alex Cropley, I raise the average age somewhat. You'll have tolerance, intolerance, people who know what they are talking about, people who don't, people who think they know it all and people who do. It could be said to be a bit cliquey, but it may suit you.

Yup pretty much can relate - as a Mod I got pulled up for saying something like "and I think the fans liked the referee fron Wankastan"...after RVP got sent off against Thun...

Still I hope you can say daffodil on here

The question I want to know is what happened to "Darknation". He was a legend, on 606 with over 8000 posts? He always came out with good sensible, intelligent posts which were remeberable. Plus he was a fellow Sri Lankan supporter along with me.

It would have been good to see him and a few of the other great 606 posters here on Goonerwebs.
