:tiphat: Elche, nice to see you round on here my friend.
your thoughts on Sneijder signing for Real please, i think he's a great signing for them, a player that they needed and on paper his partnership with Diarra in the middle looks awesome, also they can lay off Cesc for a while as they've signed the dutch carbon copy (and some will argue better player).

Thank you for that. Nice talking to you as ever.
I'm gutted Sneijder has gone to Madrid. It actually makes their midfield incredible if they get Robben to go with Drenthe and Wesley. I agree the partnership of Diarra and him will be one of the best in Europe.
I'm hoping to see Diaby and Cesc give us something like that too.
The signing of Sneijder effectively ends Madrid's interest for the next 4 years of Cesc. Unless Wesley is a flop???

Valencia are the latest club to be linked with a move for Hamburg’s Dutch star Rafael van der Vaart. Van Der Vaart Linked With Valencia zoom - galleria
The question as to how long Hamburg can hold on to their midfield maestro Rafael van der Vaart is again being posed.
According to reports in the Dutch newspaper ‘De Telegraaf’, Spanish side Valencia are very interested in the player.
The side who finished fourth in La Liga last season are preparing a €14 million offer for the HSV captain. However, according to Hamburg spokesman Jörn Wulf no official offer has been made.
Van der Vaart is under contract at Hamburg until 2010, but the 24 year old can leave for only €1.5 at the end of this season He has already been linked with a move to Real Madrid and Juventus.
Van der Vaart’s Spanish mother has already admitted he wants to play for a top Spanish club, while his advisor, Sören Lerby, was spotted in the company of Valencia officials during Hamburg’s weekend game against Hannover. |
Bacari Sagna 3 - August 13, 2007 04:47 PM (GMT)
he would be an excellent signing for them, Valencia are also in negotiations with Inter about Adriano..

Koeman says Drenthe will struggle at Madrid
The former Feyenoord boss helped to nurture the new Bernabéu star's rise into the Dutch club's first team and knows all about his strengths and weaknesses.
Drenthe completed a move to Madrid this week and has been hailed as a hot prospect, but Koeman warns that he may have made the step up to the big time too early.
"As a midfielder he could keep his head above the water, but he is vulnerable as left-back," the Dutch coach explained.
"I don't think he will make it to become a regular at Real Madrid."
Despite predicting that his former protégé will struggle, Koeman is a big fan of Drenthe and claims that he would always want him in one of his sides.
"For a coach, he is a great guy to work with - you are going to love the way he plays football," he continued.
"He brings an enormous amount of fighting spirit with him, but he needs guidance on the field. He is eager to learn things from older players.
"As coach, I would love to have him in my team."

You need to remember Koeman is a Barca man and a cheat as well
Real are more or less guaranteed the title.
Sneijder, Drenthe etc compared to Barcas signing who is a 29 year old has been :haha:
It's Up For Grabs Now - August 13, 2007 05:52 PM (GMT)
Haha Sneijder and Drenthe couldn't lace Henry's boots..Especially Drenthe.
Why is Koeman a cheat? Is it because of the incident when England played Holland around 1992 by any chance?
Cripps - August 13, 2007 06:01 PM (GMT)
Different positions they play.
Twas 1993 and yes that would be 1% of why he is a cheat.

Anyhow
Adriano for Valencia?
http://www.skysports.com/story/0,19528,11827_2659426,00.html :yikes: However I beleive this is complete hogwash; it's him and his people rattling the cage or Valencia doing so to get VdV deal moving.
Graveson for Betis?

Don't worry. My post was a little tongue in cheek. Because remember last year I stole your thread?
I thought you must have been half asleep yesterday and not realised.
Very upset yesterday seeing my Wesley in a Madrid. I've always loved him as a player, now I have to hate him.
It's a bit dutch in Madrid these days.

Elche, I doubt if you'll have to wait until next summer. They'll just carry on throughut the year.
Especially when they are doing things like losing to Betis in a pre-season friendly

AS saying Sevilla willing to let Alves go to Real for £17m plus Baptista and Cicinho :yikes:. Not asking for much there...
http://www.tribalfootball.com/article.php?id=52335I think he'll end up at Chelsea eventually. Abramovich will stump up the cash soon enough.

That would indeed be one of the freakiest double deals of all time. I wouldn't put it past Calderon though.
Good to see my sweepstakes team strengthening - if we can acquire Robben, the midfield could be the most feared in Europe.
Robben---Diarra---Sneijder---Robinho
With the likes of Drenthe, Gago, Guti, Baptista, Emerson and De La Red waiting to fill in. That's assuming most of them stay, seems like Baps and Emerson are targets for Serie A clubs and Guti fancies a move.

Van der Vaart left out of Hamburg squad and believed headed for Spain - to where though? It looks like Valencia at the mo but if he turns up at Madrid like that Sneijder.... :sulk:

Madrid's offer for Alves has risen to 37 million euros and Cicinho.
Astonishing. The money they have spent this year cannot be theirs.
I think FIFA needs to investigate where their money is coming from.
If they add Robben for 28 million to Alves for 37 million, Pepe for 30 million, Drenthe 14 million, Wesley for 26 million, Saviola for ?????
A total of :
135 million euros and Saviola.
Over £100 million pounds and thats not included wages.
Appalling and a clear effort to buy the League and Champions League.
The Emirates Gallastico - August 17, 2007 04:47 PM (GMT)
It's worked before...
Personally I hope Real end up trophyless, would be a great laugh...
Cripps - August 17, 2007 04:49 PM (GMT)
Alves would be brilliant at Real
Lets hope he makes the right choice
Cant see anyone stopping the champions

Can anyone shed light on Mavuba moving to Villareal? When did it happen, I just noticed it now. He was once a target of us and United, what are thoughts in Spain about his move there?
Bacari Sagna 3 - August 17, 2007 07:11 PM (GMT)
Real Madrid have financed all of these transfers with the 800 million euroes TV deal they did earlier in the year.

Just so you know La Liga is on Sky next weekend. :good: I know Crazy was a bit concerned it wasn't going to be.
TheCrazy58 - August 18, 2007 06:06 PM (GMT)
:woohoo: :woohoo: :woohoo:
Where did you see that Mac, I can't see it on Sky website (the list of live matches)...which matches are they showing? I thought the delay was caused by the Spanish tv (terrestial & cable) not getting their act together.
McNamara That Ghost... - August 18, 2007 06:29 PM (GMT)
It has been shown on the adverts on Sky Sports 1 etc. :D
From 7pm on Saturday, it's on. Marketing vs Atleti and Sevilla vs Getafe. Didn't menton Sunday though.
TheCrazy58 - August 18, 2007 07:37 PM (GMT)
Fab. Atletico has been in form preseason and the Madrid derby should be very tasty indeed.
Sunday's matches will probably be Barca v Racing and Valencia v Villarreal. Spanish TV - TVE, La Sexta, Canal - always leave it very late to schedule their broadcasts. That's why you always see everything initially scheduled for Sunday evenings.
Cripps - August 18, 2007 07:46 PM (GMT)
At least we get to see the Champions on saturday :D
Cant wait
