Title: Rugby World Cup 2007, starts today
Description: Official thread of all RWC things.

maorigooner - September 7, 2007 03:38 PM (GMT)
France v Argentina (Tonight 8pm)

New Zealand v Italy (Sat 12.45)

Australia v Japan (Sat 2.45pm)

England v USA (Sat 5pm)

maorigooner - September 7, 2007 03:41 PM (GMT)
For me I think tonight the French will open the tournament with a hard fought win over the Pumas

New Zealand will win against the Italians...without shifting from second gear.

Easy win for the sheepshagging convicts over the P,O,W killers of Japan

England to tank the yanks, by a good 30 points!

PGFC - September 7, 2007 03:45 PM (GMT)
3 homes and an away win for me please.

this is the weekend where England can, with a little effort, become the laughing stock of the entire world of sport, Cricket, Football, Rugby and F1, can't wait.

Elchegooner - September 7, 2007 03:45 PM (GMT)
IŽll go for this

France 40 Argentina 23

All Blacks 62 Italy 9

Convicts 57 Japan 14

England 53 USA 17

McNamara That Ghost... - September 7, 2007 03:46 PM (GMT)
Agreed, not going out on a limb but well I think only the France vs Argentina one is in any doubt. Even so I expect France to win.

Well once again the biggest event in the rugby calendar is upon us, and once again England enter the tournament with a half crocked Jonny Wilkinson.

Olly Barkley is in for the first game, as England attempt to get Jonny Wilkinson fit for the big game against the Jarpies (South Africa)

Should Ashton call up cover now? Or is a half fit JW10 better than Barkley?

Would Mike (Jarpie) Catt be a better call at flyhalf than young Barkley?

I personally would move mountains in order to get JW10 fit, but if not I'd opt for Catt at flyhalf over Barkley.

PS- You do all know that if Barkley gets injured then the only recognised Goalkicker you have in your squad is Farell :yikes:

Coca Kolo - September 7, 2007 05:00 PM (GMT)
Maori mate, who should i back for top try scorer?

Habana or Sivivatu?

tigerthesmurf85 - September 7, 2007 05:04 PM (GMT)
How many threads do we need for the Rugby World Cup?

Cripps - September 7, 2007 05:08 PM (GMT)
As many as the NFL ones

tigerthesmurf85 - September 7, 2007 05:08 PM (GMT)

Neither mate, i'm going for Joe Rokokokokokokokoko at 9-2 same odds as Sivivatu.

Habana might be worth a little each way action, Paddy power have him as 11-2 for top try scorer, he runs like greased lightning, can step off either foot and is as hard as nails!

I've just seenm William Hills odds and they have Joe Rokokokokokoko at 7-2 favourite! I'll have twenty on that and twenty on Dominici (Fra) at 25-1

Ok maybe twenty on Habana too

tigerthesmurf85 - September 7, 2007 06:15 PM (GMT)
Darren Carter :jumpnana:

Cripps - September 7, 2007 06:16 PM (GMT)
Didnt he score against us a few years back for WBA when they beat us 2-1?

Cripps - September 7, 2007 06:58 PM (GMT)
Teams are coming out

No idea who any of them are but il still watch it

Well i will after Eastenders which is far more important

tigerthesmurf85 - September 7, 2007 06:59 PM (GMT)
Come on France :scarf:

WBSH_Cesc - September 7, 2007 07:17 PM (GMT)
Argentina 6-3 up after 10 mins. Good start for them :)

WBSH_Cesc - September 7, 2007 07:27 PM (GMT)
France making so many errors it's amazing!!

Argentina not capatilsing though.

WBSH_Cesc - September 7, 2007 07:33 PM (GMT)
9-3 Puma's

Cripps - September 7, 2007 07:33 PM (GMT)
3-9

Decent penalty.

WBSH_Cesc - September 7, 2007 07:39 PM (GMT)
Try Argentina 14-3

However conversion missed, could cost them dear if France come back.

WBSH_Cesc - September 7, 2007 07:41 PM (GMT)
14-6

Cripps - September 7, 2007 07:45 PM (GMT)
Im on GW whilst the game is on on the tv and ive looked at the tv 3 times and all 3 occasions there has been a penalty.

Is there no flow to games?

Theres a stoppage every second. No wonder some see it as a joke sport

WBSH_Cesc - September 7, 2007 07:45 PM (GMT)
17-6

Penalty converted from 52 yards!

WBSH_Cesc - September 7, 2007 07:50 PM (GMT)

Now now cripps, you didnt know who the teams were when they came out!

Don't be quick to judge!

Plus it's like Gridiron in the fact that it's more tactical.

WBSH_Cesc - September 7, 2007 07:52 PM (GMT)
H/T 17-9 Argentina

Cripps - September 7, 2007 07:52 PM (GMT)
I knew the teams were France and Argentina

I didnt know any of the players though.

Other than Wilkinson, i dont know any of the English players either.

You ask the majority of this country to name the England world cup winning team and they'll struggle

9-17 at Half time.

Actually to be fair I wouldn't be able to name the whole 2003 squad. Although I have kept a paper the day after that win.

Injury Time - September 7, 2007 08:32 PM (GMT)
watch the first half jeeez that was dull, usually don't mind rugby but really that was

Cripps - September 7, 2007 08:33 PM (GMT)
Agreed.

Hope the rest of the tournament doesnt do that

Juan Nilto - September 7, 2007 08:49 PM (GMT)
Get the feck in you Argie bastards

Cripps - September 7, 2007 08:49 PM (GMT)
France have the ball

Their player is tackled.

Argentina win the penalty

WTF?

Cripps - September 7, 2007 08:51 PM (GMT)
12-17 FT

Argies win

Yossarian - September 7, 2007 09:04 PM (GMT)
Argies were sensational. France wern't. Deserved the win, they did.

Bad news for the Irish as the Ireland/France match will be really important.

Anyway there shouldn't be any upsets in tommorows matches.

WBSH_Cesc - September 7, 2007 09:11 PM (GMT)
It's little wonder they call it the Group of death (Group D), three good sides in Argentina, Ireland, France and one of them will have to give.

Good victory for the Puma's. They beat England last autumn at Twickenham so they are no pushovers.
