Title: Marching on......

Punchinello Beezo - September 17, 2007 12:43 PM (GMT)
So go on then........who would of picked Leeds to have been played 6 won 6 at this point in the season??

As the goals roll in and the chants of "F*ck off, to the whole FA" can be heard around Elland Road. The bookies look on is Dismay, they had leeds down at 66-1 to be promoted this year....

Had they not suffered the minus 15 point start they had they would be 2 points clear of the Orient by now.....

Wierd team Leeds....

The Emirates Gallastico - September 17, 2007 12:46 PM (GMT)
They are playing in League One Flavs...

So?

Does that make it easy then??

The Emirates Gallastico - September 17, 2007 01:26 PM (GMT)
Of course, seeing as I don't think they've sold too many of their Championship players...

they have sold most of them actuially.

You can only beat whats in front of you, and going to the |City ground and beating pre-season favourites Forest 0-1 was a great result

The Emirates Gallastico - September 17, 2007 01:52 PM (GMT)
A team always looks better in a league below them, surely that is not hard to comprehend? Tis why the likes of Sunderland look shite in the Premiership but destroy the Championship, even though they sell their best players yearly.

Even with the points deduction the least Leeds should do is make the playoff places.

Punchinello Beezo - September 17, 2007 01:56 PM (GMT)
Look at the other 3 that got relegated........not exactly setting the world alight in League one are they??

Its quite rare for a relegated team to come straight back up, especially when they have to start on Minus 15.

Its not like we are talking about Juve in Serie B here

Hmm but those players found it too tough for the Championship, no? :) Siege mentality mate, it always works.

Not true, otherwise it would be the same three/four up and down every season. :good:

Your first post- the players were good enough, the manager/system they used wasn't- same as the West Ham side that were supposed to be "too good to go down".

As for the second, teams that are regulars- as Leeds were should usually prove a class above most of the teams in a lower division. Leeds dropping into League One is like Aston Villa dropping into the Championship.

Names mean nothing if you don't have the requisite quality. West Ham were different because they were relegated with the highest points total amassed: 42!

I dont think you understand what football is like outside the Prem. Its one big slippery slope..

With parachute payments of around 20m pounds, as well as players bought to play in the division above, I don't see why a club that's gone down shouldn't come straight back up (as Birmingham did pretty easily) as long as they keep ahold of most of their players.

Exactly TEG if they hold on to their players - there is no guarantee of that happening. Once players have a taste for the Prem they rarely want to be away from it.

*cough.......

Marching on......

Coca Kolo - September 25, 2007 10:32 PM (GMT)
its a remarkable situation and story.

Letters (TPFKA WWTL@WHL) - September 26, 2007 09:10 AM (GMT)
It is. If thet do manage to go up then it'll be a massive V sign to the FA and a remarkable achievement.

Flava Flavs - September 27, 2007 05:54 PM (GMT)
its a bit scary being here and seeing the Yorkshire Evening Post saying game after game that they have won again

Its like us in our unbeaten year.....

Mr Brighterside - September 27, 2007 06:07 PM (GMT)
are they out of the relegation zone yet?

is remarkable to win so many on the trot but they need to avoid being complacant if they want to make sure they don't do a forrest.

Flava Flavs - September 27, 2007 06:14 PM (GMT)
yup. they are 18th of 24 and without the deduction they would be 5 points clear at the top...

Flava Flavs - October 8, 2007 08:00 AM (GMT)
12th now

i am going to see them on Saturday against the mighty Orient.

Flava Flavs - October 16, 2007 09:53 AM (GMT)
Right then,

Had a good time at Elland road on Saturday as leeds managed to pull in just uinder 30k fans to watch the match with Orient. (The o's bought nearly 2k themselves) was a greatly entataining match, not just for the gloriously shite penalty miss by Tresor Kandol or the comedy refereeing on Orients disallowed goal that was at least a foot over the line or for Shaun Thornton scoring and celebrating in front of the Leeds kop to then get sent off 3 minutes later

Good luck to Leeds for the rest of the campaign i say.....

Also saw a funny shirt printed like this

Every
1
hates
us
