Hello to you all.
I was recommended this site by Toothy from the Terry Pratchett books .cm forum, the sister of ‘Coney.’
I’ve been supporting The Arsenal since 1968. My eldest sister (17 years age gap) married an Arsenal support. My brother (9 years age gap) had just started going to watch West Ham. What a horrible thought, we would have both been West Ham fans. Actually he does have a soft spot for them.
I read somewhere that Arsenal want to register the word ‘Gooner’ as a trade mark. I thought that the term ‘Gooner’ was invented by the Sun or the Mirror in the early 1980s.
That’s by-the-by.
My question is, how would we go about getting the word ‘Gooner into the Oxford English Dictionary? Or come to that, any English dictionary.
My second question is, and I know this is leaving us open to ridicule. What would the definition by?

My religion is Arsenal.
As for getting Gooner into the dictionary. If enough people ask for it, it may happen. The question, how many is enough? If we contact Arsenal and get them to ask for every Arsenal to do it. We may just get in included.
