Title: Intro time!
Description: A little intro
Koushi - November 12, 2007 12:41 AM (GMT)
Here goes.
I've been an Arsenal fan ever since I started liking football. Being American, football isn't all that popular there so I didn't really discover this great sport until i was in Uni. My neighbors at Uni were from the UK and both were huge Man U fans. I remember watching a replay of Man U v. Arsenal around 2002 and have been a fan ever since.
Now i live in japan where it's a little easier to catch Arsenal games. Please go easy on the American :p

wow, you're good.
Koushi, it's great to have you join. You've put up quality posts from the beginning.
Just goes to show that Americans are smarter than anybody else. (Well, at least the ones that can find Japan on a map.)

good to see another yank! good for u, u r in a country where they call football.. well... football!! here in US, i hate it when i have to say wat my fave sport is... i cant say football as soccer and always start by saying "i love football, not the american one but the real one... its called soccer here but i cant call it soccer coz its an insult"... by the time, im done saying that, the drunk girl i was trying to pick up is not interested anymore!

Why would you be talking about football anyway when youre trying to hit it off with a girl?

if you're english, it shouldn't really matter what you say as long as you just keep talking.
we -- both genders of us -- go all weak in the knees at an english accent. In fact, I think it's probably even more effective with the women than it is with the men.

it happens when there is hardly anything to say... i mean, i want to get to her pants but cant say that directly... so i have this stupid question "u follow any sports" and that ruins it for me!! and calling football by soccer is an emotional topic for me especially i have a few pints down!
by the way, im not english in anyway... im from dubai but for me football is very important to be distorted by the word 'soccer'! :censored:

See the funny thing is they actually call football soccer here in Japan. When talking to my american friends I call it soccer, but I also have a large number of friends from the UK so I call it football around them.
And yeah when you run out of things to say to a girl you go to your last resort, sports. I've actually been amazed at how many girls follow sports in Japan. My joy and elation is generally crushed quite quickly by the discovery that they have a boyfriend :(
